Summary; Two people in desperate need of lives head out to the Blue Light. Oh dear.
Log; Donna spent hours on her couch, just thinking. She wished that Lizzy were still around, but her roommate had left the City after a very short period of time. Donna's luck with roommates was about a bad as her luck with men. There would be no advice from Miss Bennet. She had tried calling Romana, but the other woman was busy, and all Donna's other female friends were much younger than her. She'd feel silly asking them for advice.
So she sat on her couch, wondering: was this a date? Neither she nor Scotty had ever labeled it as such, but it had all the hallmarks of a date. He was a man. She was a woman. They were both single. They were going to a bar. He was picking her up at her apartment. It had to be a date, right?
But she had gone out with other men and it hadn't been dates. She'd had dinner with Tony -- but he wasn't single. She'd gone drinking with Kirk -- he was single, but he was also a slut. A relationship wasn't something he was looking for. And she'd had coffee with Chekov, but he was a baby.
The most aggravating thing about having the mind of a Time Lord was it didn't help her solve the problems that actually mattered.
In her worry and confusion, she hadn't been keeping an eye on the time. She heard the doorbell ring and panicked. Fortunately, it was for next door, but she glanced at the clock and realized she only had forty-five minutes to get ready. With a yelp, she jumped off the couch, tripped, and stumbled to her room to get ready.

Donna...she'd been in and out of his thoughts since he'd first met her. Sure, he'd never met her in person, but he'd seen glimpses of her, and that laugh and that brilliant mind were always accompanied by that flashing smile and that mane of red hair. He cleared his throat and adjusted the collar of his shirt, hoping she liked the flowers (http://www.arenaflowers.com/product_image/large/1274.jpg) he's got for her. They matched that hair of hers to a tee.
Then, he rang the bell.

She pulled it open, smiling breathlessly and thinking to herself that she probably should have taken a moment so it wouldn't be so obvious she was in a hurry. "HI!" she said, just a trifle too enthusiastically.

"Eh, well, what I mean tae say is...it's good tae meet ye. Properly, I mean, an', eh," he remembered what he was holding. "I hope ye like them?"

"Thank you," she said, taking the flowers. She hated carnations, honestly, but when a cute, smart man brings you flowers, you don't quibble about the species. "They're beautiful." She put them in the vase by the door and flashed another smile. "Ready to go?"

Fortunately, The Blue Light was not too far, and they reached the bar quickly.
