log, locked to Watanuki and Timothy
When; July 5th, evening
Rating; PG at most (Timothy you need to learn to watch your language)
Characters; Watanuki
toppedbyfate and Timothy
gforgreat
Summary; Watanuki and Timothy talk about the recent curse, and eventually it gets into parent talk.
Warnings; Spoilers for xxxHolic and Tsubasa's most recent chapters.
Log; It had been an eventful curse day, to say the least. Watanuki hadn't minded it so much, though. While some of his friends have been plagued by enemies and annoying family members, Watanuki had been lucky enough that his visitors had been people he wanted to see. There was Himawari, who Watanuki was overjoyed to see, and Fai had also come back to visit too. And then there had been a couple copies of himself, which while they were weird they were also better than some of the people who could have turned up. (At least it wasn't multiple Doumekis, he had told himself.) But one of the more interesting people had been Sakura, as she had been a lot older then he had been expecting. It was nice to see her as an adult, though. That meant she had gotten through all of her troubles and lived a happy life with Syaoran, and Watanuki was glad for her.
But Watanuki was troubled. Just as he had been on Mother's day and Father's day, he had been hoping that his parents would show up. They hadn't, of course, but for some reason Watanuki hadn't felt as empty as he had on those previous days. Was it because so many of his friends had visited him? Or was it because he was learning not to get too excited about it, so the letdown wouldn't be as great. Whatever it was, it confused Watanuki greatly.
And that's why he was outside on the small porch that day, sitting down and looking up at the stars. He planned to go inside and go to bed soon, as everyone had already been fed and they were winding down for the night, but he wanted a little time to think before he went to bed. He had a lot to think about, after all.

It was actually a little strange for Watanuki to think, since he was a pretty impulsive person, but he didn't think Timothy would catch that. The boy wasn't exactly the most observant person in the world.

Tsukikami, noting something that Timothy did not, receded back into Timothy's mind, his form disappearing. He almost didn't notice the apparition's departure.
What now?

If there was anything he had learned recently, it was that company was nice. It kept the spirits away, usually.

In the end he sat down, pulling his legs up to his chest. There were things that happened yesterday that still weighed heavy on his mind. It almost made him sad.

He shifted a little when Watanuki spoke to him and shrugged his shoulders half-heartedly. "Stuff."

"No, just...stuff." Don't die. How could he control something like that? How could he ensure that he would live by that command alone?
Everything about this new life of his scared him.
He sniffed. "...What about you?" Bad stuff?

But was two years ago really that long ago? It was just the blink of an eye in a whole lifetime, though right now it felt like it had been a fifth of his life. And actually it represented a lot more of his life, since the last two years were all that he remembered anyway.

"Who's Sakura?"

He smiled a little as he thought about seeing Sakura as an adult. Sure, he knew her already, but something had felt different about her at that time. It felt almost...well, motherly. And sure, that Sakura had looked old enough to be a mother, but there was something else about it. Something he couldn't quite put his finger on.

Of course he had never found a desire in getting to know these people. With good reason at that, so why was he so curious now?

It was pretty obvious that Watanuki was very smitten with this girl, though his gushing didn't tell much about who she actually was.

Granted, there were two exceptions to this belief in Timothy's mind, but he wasn't thinking about them.
Whatever Watanuki was experiencing with this girl was something Timothy could not comprehend.

Though Watanuki WAS a little eccentric when it came to Himawari. He was way too fond of his last bastion of heterosexuality, and a lot of people thought he was weird when he acted that way.

Wait, no, that wasn't quite right. That's where they SHOULD be. Something didn't feel quite right about it, though, and it made him frown a little. What were these nagging thoughts that kept bothering him about it? He knew he couldn't remember his parents, but he couldn't remember his past at all, right? So why did that seem so important. "So difficult," he said to himself under his breath, and though he was talking about his memories it would have been easy to think that he was talking about Timothy, since Watanuki had just been talking to him moments ago.
