Log;
The cathedral was silent and eerie in its silence. Tod stood at the foot of the altar, glancing up at the figure of the suffering Christ that added substance to the crucifix. The image of life itself, wasn't it? Of the suffering of the mortals; the pains and restrictions of existing. They hailed it in this godly form. Worshipped it, even. No, he would not pretend he understood. There was nothing to understand. To think that impotence could be fought with powerlessness was nothing but mere idiocy; a ridiculous notion thought up by humans who wanted to grasp on to every thread of life, no matter how stripped of meaning it was.
Stubborn. So stubborn mortals could be.
Not this one, however. This innocent girl. A child, more likely. Like Elisabeth when she had first stood before him. Unlike Elisabeth, however, this other girl had been willing to listen. She had been easy to persuade, even easier to gain the trust of. Tod would make sure to reward her with the one thing she wanted. Escape. The one escape, the ultimate escape, the escape only he could grant her.
Megumi's warnings would get swallowed up like the first drops of water in the thirsty desert sand. Youko's words would lose their hurtful sting. Even the image of Elisabeth, frozen in time, rejecting him one last time, would not matter. The scenario might be a new one, the surroundings different, but he was still the master of the underworld. He was still death and could grant people his blessing with one snap of his fingers, curse their lives with a single gesture.
This she would learn, the young girl who had showcased her emotions so freely, and she would be grateful to him, of course, Tod knew.

Standing before the towering building, the actual design of the cathedral made her feel a little homesick. It was nostalgic, reflecting the grand designs of Kurosu Academy, and not for the first time did she wish she was back home. Hand tightening around the small fingers of the little girl she tugged behind her, Yuuki smiled down at her cheerfully in order to try and draw her thoughts away from the many concerns she’d recently begun to harbor.
“This is the Cathedral, Rin-chan. We have to stop here before we visit anywhere else today, okay…?”
The little girl attached to her hand was not normally this small. Neither was she normally so dependant. Curse days always made life incredibly difficult in the city. Glancing back at the boy throwing suspicious glances all around closer to Zero, Yuuki sighed. She was grateful that considering her plans today, she hadn’t been forced into a child’s body. Anotsu and Rin had been two of the unfortunate ones struck by the City’s whim. Unable to just leave two children wandering the streets, both her and Zero had picked them up. This was why they were here with her today, at the cathedral.
I hope Tod doesn’t mind… The party was a bit larger than she had anticipated, but she had a feeling that he would be a bit more understanding, considering they were children. That still didn’t explain her reasoning for coming, though. Uncertain, Yuuki looked dubiously at the building, wondering if they should knock, or just help themselves in. It was so large…
Something that might actually help take the curses away, huh…?
Too good to be true likely wasn’t even the half of it. That was the promise that Tod had given her, assuring her that his own abilities remained untainted by the deities’ watchful gaze. She had no idea if his words were simply mere arrogance or if they really were honest. But she was so tired of just sitting around and doing nothing. If she just remained still…then…that future that she had caught a glimpse of…
Shaking her head, Yuuki swallowed. Now isn’t the time That was all for later. She could only attempt to tackle the problems individually as they came. Peeking at Zero through the corner of her eye, she could tell he was growing agitated. She hadn’t told him where she wanted to go or even who she was meeting with. Had she mentioned her intentions, she was positive he would have objected and refused to go with her. Now that they were already here though…there wasn’t much that he could say to stop her or force their small group to turn back. I just want to help, Zero… If things turned out for the best…then they would have one less thing to worry about.
“Do you think we should knock…? I'm not used to visiting a place like a church. Or…”

Glancing at the two kids that they'd taken in to play babysitter to today, he thought he'd spoken with the girl from time to time. She was obviously a friend to Yuuki if she'd gone out of her way to get her. Not that she wouldn't just randomly pick up someone that had turned into a kid that day from the network just because they were a kid for the day. She completely would.
Just like she'd probably made arrangements to meet some random vampire she hadn't ever met before at the Cathedral. Though, when they actually arrived at there, he could only sense one vampire in the facility. One that Zero had been familiar with for a long time already. That obviously wasn't who they were visiting.
"How else do you think they'll know someone is here?" he answered, hands in his pockets as he leaned against the wall near the entryway. "If no one answers, we'll go in on our own."

And this girl should be the first to accept him. She who wanted to escape to a world of peace - he would grant her what she wished for. Perhaps even her friend as well... for his own sake. The girl was fond of him, so who was he to deny her to take a friend with her in death.
Those who said death was cruel had surely not met Tod yet.
Smirking with satisfaction, he heard the announcement of someone's immediate entry as they knocked on the enormous doors leading into the cathedral. He raised his chin and turned around, facing the main aisle in the middle, knowing that the light as it filtered through the stained glass panels above him would cast his form in curious shadows with the huge altar as background. They would be able to make his silhouette out clearly, but his features - the details - would be obscured until they drew closer. A fitting welcome~.
So he waited. He was not one to hurry people to their end, now, was he? They would come at their own volition. He knew. They always did.

Those thoughts faded away though as the large enterance to the cathedral opened wide. Immediately her eyes found another individual, further up in the room, his figure cast strangely due to the light of the room. Pausing at Zero's side suddenly, a bit of discomfort entered her stomach as she suddenly felt embarrassed and as though they were intruding.
"Sorry..." she said apologetically, feeling a bit intimated and daunted by the strange atmosphere of the building and sweeping ceilings. "Um...I'm supposed to be here. I knocked, but..." She wasn't doing anything wrong...
"I'm supposed to meet an individual named Tod..."
