Summary; The morning after the curse, Uta wakes up to a surprise.

It had been an exhausting 2 days thanks to that curse. Even Hiiragi found himself unable to stay asleep, the dreams much too vivid and disturbing. His only remedy seemed to be the presence of others, or to be more specific, Uta. Watching over her as she slept was strangely relaxing and while the nightmares were still there, it seemed easier to doze off again knowing Uta was near.

Thanks to the curse ending, he managed to catch up on some sleep. Of course, being almost perfect, he still managed to wake up somewhat early. He glanced at the clock before rolling over, smiling at the sight before him.

Was it wrong? A bit odd? Maybe. But the reason they were sharing a bed was innocent.

Uta looked so peaceful, Hiiragi almost didn't want to wake her but he knew she had work and wanted to give her plenty of time to get ready.

"Yumeno-kun."

The curse practically exhausted everyone. With nightmares being so vivid you would almost think they were real, it was difficult to fall asleep and rest. But Uta somehow managed to get more sleep than others when Hiiragi was with her.

Maybe it was because she knew he would be there when she woke up...

Of the three nights the curse lingered upon, tonight was the only night they actually shared a bed with together. Hiiragi's... to which Uta did not mind.

She could hear him calling her in her sleep, so she roused a bit, mumbling a protest while rubbing her eyes sleepily...

He continued to smile at her as she slowly woke up, "Looks like the curse ended."

Curse... curse... she wasn't sure what he was talking about at first. She covered a small yawn, blinking away her sleepiness...

She slowly realizes that she didn't have nightmares the previous night, and that she finally had the sleep her body was longing for. The realization made a small part of her sad, since she had no excuse to stay with Hiiragi at night any longer...

But nevertheless... it may have only been 3 nights, it may have had to end, but she was still thankful to be so close to him.

"Mm-hm..." she replied, smiling.

But that smile faded to a deep blush when she saw Hiiragi's bare shoulders. She quickly sat up, waves of her hair flowing behind her as she looked away. Oh my god, she didn't remember seeing him... that way... last night!

...wait, what happened last night? Yesterday? It felt like a dream... which was a dream and which was real? She wasn't really sure anymore.

Hiiragi noticed the blush and blinked, curious as to why she seemed upset now. ".. Are you alright?"

Alright? Dear gracious, Hiiragi was... half naked, in bed, with her!

"I'm..."

She quickly looked at her phone for the time...

"...uhm, going to be ...late for work."

Which was a white lie, and Hiiragi would know it... she had plenty of time to get ready, but she couldn't think of a better excuse for her spazzing, which she was having a difficult time hiding. She refused to look at him as she could feel that she was still blushing.

"... You have a half hour, correct?" He raised an eyebrow. "I made sure to give you plenty of time."

"...uhm, yes."

Think of something, Uta, quickly! She sat on the edge of his bed, playing with her hair to cover her face.

"B-but uhm... I'm afraid Jun might catch me in here and... get the wrong idea."

Ok, that was slightly more true than the last one, but she still wouldn't look at him. Oh my god, this was so embarrassing...

Hiiragi sat up, resting his cheek against his hand. "Don't worry, Jun sleeps in until much later. He never comes in here either."

...ok, she really can't think of anything else. Might as well tell him the truth?

"..."

Or not?

"I'm just... uhm...

"...embarrassed."

... As yes. He should have figured.

".. Mn." He grunted, shifting over to the edge of the bed and standing up, then making his way over to the closet. He slipped on his silk bath robe, tying up the front before returning to sit on his side of the bed.

"Sorry..." she said, finally being able to look at him, even if she was only peeking. "But I really do have to go get ready for work...Earl Hargreaves and Konata were both not feeling well since yesterday."

She find her own pink bath robe and puts it on. "You should go back to sleep... It's still early..."

"I see." He said, looking down at the bed sheets for a moment then back up at Uta. "If I did, I'd only wake back up in an hour. I don't like sleeping in."

"You haven't slept much for the past two nights before last... Hatori-sensei said..."

"...people go insane after 48 hours without rest." But that wouldn't really make much of an argument since they were both pretty insane to be in this relationship in the first place. She takes a moment to consider, then goes to stand in front of him, taking his hand into both of hers.

"...I don't want you to get sick too." she whispers to him.

Heh. Just like Uta to be concerned... "I've napped here and there and we just got over 7 hours of sleep. If I start to feel tired, I'll take a nap, alright?"

She smiles, nodding quietly in agreement. "Thank you..."

She takes out her phone again, checking the time. "I probably can't make you breakfast today like yesterday... but..."

She strokes his hair away, blushing slightly. "Perhaps this will make up for it."

She leans down and gives him a gentle kiss on the cheek. "Thank you... for staying with me..."

Hiiragi was about to say 'that's alright' but was immediatly cut off when she kissed his cheek.

Now it was his turn to blush. "Ah.. You're welcome, Yumeno-kun. .. And I'm sure I'll manage."

If she would have it her way, she'd rather stay with him instead of going to work. But she had to leave... she wouldn't want her boss to worry.

"I'm going now..." she whispers, turning to leave, "see you later, Senpai..."

He would have liked that as well, and not just for breakfast.

"Alright. Try not to over work yourself?"

"I won't, I promise..." she said to him before sneaking away back to her apartment. It was only once she was there that she noticed her clothes... carried his faint scent for having spent the night with him.

She blushed a few shades deeper and hurried to take a quick shower before heading to work. She have to stop thinking about what happened the night before or else people at work might start gossiping her again... For now though, she smiled... it was going to be a good day~
