log; ongoing

When; July 25th, 9:30am
Rating; G? (unless Clow and Yuuko decide otherwise)
Characters; List; more characters to be added as requested
Summary; The long awaited second beach party takes place when everyone needed to socialize most.
Log;

She thought she was going to go crazy. After the disappearance of Lacus and Kira, and then being sent to an empty City, Uta was beside herself with worry. She sent reminders to everyone she knows that the party will be today, but she wonders if people would want to even be there after that curse.

Nevertheless, Hiiragi, Jun, and Uta went to the spot on the beach they had all agreed upon previously, bringing a basket full of sandwiches with them. Uta remembered Omi liking Kappa Maki and made some for him to thank him for cheering him up. Similarly, she made Ken some sticky buns, brought beer for Yuuko and Mokona, cake for Hunny, and coffee and cookies for Anthony. She thought it strange that she made special food for certain people, and yet could not think of one for Hiiragi, but decided at the last minute to pack a slice of strawberry shortcake for him.

Perhaps having that empty City curse was a good thing, because she wouldn't have been able to prepare this much food otherwise. And Jun seemed to want to attack the picnic basket he was carrying for her already.

With her pink, two-piece swimsuit under a sheer white tunic, she decided not to let the curse bother her anymore. Today was going to be a good day... it had to be, because everyone needed it.

He was surprised that he'd agreed to come. But he was here now. Mostly because he needed to get out. Needed to be out doing something aside from taking Bandit for a walk.

On the other hand, that didn't stop him from bringing one very important thing that he already knew would drive Uta and Umi insane. A book.

For now, it was tucked away in the bag he'd brought. It had some essentials in it. Sunscreen, towels, a change of clothes. He knew Umi well enough to know that he might need that. At least until he needed to change, he could be comfortable in what he was wearing (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v247/neko142001/Aya%20Fujimiya/ayabeach.jpg) right now.

And Kudou said he had no style. Hn.

The reality was that Aya had dressed this way so it would be easy to change if he had to.

He blinked.

Then blinked again.

He just got here and already she was on his case about bringing a book? Before she even knew if he had brought one? That was...unexpected.

"And if I did?"

ffffffff we'll be good around the children!

Yuuko claimed her place early on. She staked the umbrella and stretched out underneath on a beach towel, making sure that any exposed skin got a healthy slathering of sunscreen. The Dimension Witch didn't want to sunburn.

She leaned back on her arms, crossing her ankles, and she watched the children at play. The cooler of beer was close by her side. Every once in a while she sipped at her bottle.

Maybe she'd get up later and swim or tease someone more likely, but she was pretty happy right where she was.

Bustle of this sort isn't something Ishiah's unaccustomed to seeing around, especially given that he lives in a place as busy as Manhattan, but joining in is something that he only manages a handful of times per year, only when necessary. As such, part of him is a bit surprised to find himself at the beach, immediately ducking under one of the large umbrellas propped around the sand and folding his wings out of view. It's still hard to think of anything else, in light of Cambriel's death, but maybe talking with Robin has helped. And he's certain that there are certain people, of which Uta is included among, who have been trying very hard to get him on his feet again.

So perhaps the least he can do is respect that.

All the other faces are unfamiliar as he watches people play with beach balls, erect castles in the sand. He's not about to go out and socialize--not really his strength--but a bit of warmth and sun can't hurt too much.

She was...pouting. Because he brought a book.

"I like to read."

Ishiah managed a smile in Uta's direction, sincere but distracted. There was a reason why he liked this girl, he knew, and enthusiasm was only part of it. All humans were selfish, all humans were at times unreasonable, but given that all things in life were relative, Uta fell far on the innocent side of the scale. He wouldn't have bothered investing in any sort of relationship otherwise, as she wasn't typically an avenue he used to root out more information about the City.

"And I am happy that you invited me. Of course you may sit," he nodded, looking to the sea again, eyes squinting slightly at the brightness.

the fun is later >D

"Lots of practice!" Yuuko said cheerfully, leaning back on her beach towel with an audible sigh of enjoyment. That was the honest truth; her tolerance was a lot greater than normal people's. She tried to save actual drunkenness for home, anyway. Better to hold onto a perpetual soft buzz.

/says nothing more~

Yuuko smiled and patted the sand next to her in invitation.

"I'm glad as well," she said, looking up at the sky. "Hitsuzen has led me to a strange place, but... not necessarily a bad one."

Yuuko shrugged. The City had its curses, it took and gave people seemingly at whim, but she still liked it, somehow. She trusted in the future of all of the people here.

"I wasn't, but my house was oddly quiet," she said, smiling only a little. "No explosions. And work was pretty empty."

[identity profile] moresake.livejournal.com 2009-07-25 08:02 am (UTC)(link)
She quirked an eyebrow. "Did you miss the fireworks experimentation? The house smelled for three days."

She leaned back and threw her arm over her eyes, relaxing. "I don't know why he always seems to do the dangerous things indoors."

Her tone is one of complaint, but she's still smiling a little.

"I went home, briefly," he explained quietly, ears fixating on the crashing of the waves while his eyes darted around to make sure that he was entirely covered by the umbrella. The day being as hot as it was meant that Ishiah could very well end up getting slight sunburn, if he stayed out under the glare for too long. "When I came back, my wings were back to normal. A relief, as feathers would have taken some time to regrow."

Ishiah peered in her direction for a bit, before adding. "I'm fine."

He wondered if she'd catch the lie. Very few people had managed, so far. Maybe because, on many levels, Ishiah was even able to lie to himself about it all. He didn't need help, and he didn't need support, even if Robin had stirred up a bit of doubt in his heart over that matter.

Yuuko lifted her arm, opened one eye, and totally saw that not-blush. She grinned.

"Men," she said, burying her feet in the sand, "what can you do?"

She turned over on her stomach. "Personally," she continued in a tone of confidentiality, "I think I'm going to go push him in the sea later. Preemptive strike."

Shiki managed to skip in on the party with his usual beach (http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y93/Xeonix/mb4.jpg) attire. Not literally skip because that was a little beyond him. More like sneak in and find himself an empty spot not too close to the water to lay down on. Towels could be so comfortable when warmed by a yellow yellow summer sun. With bandages covering his eyes, he didn't have to worry nary a bit about it being too bright to sleep.

As a matter of fact, if your eyes were sharp enough, you would notice the boy go still after a bit and could watch his breathing hit a slow and steady pace. Truly, these were the wonders of naps.
