log; ongoing
When; Saturday the 29th, late afternoon through the evening
Rating; G or PG for standard beach antics
Characters; several people from this post and whoever else wants to crash the party.
Summary; One last beach trip before fall-- an evening one with a bonfire.
Log;
The last Saturday in August was clear and warm. People began to trickle onto the beach in the late afternoon. They assembled a bonfire from driftwood and were wandering around, talking and laughing.
It had been Yuuko's idea to give Summer one last hurrah before sending her on her way. The witch lit the bonfire as the sun began to set, staring approvingly at the fire. She took a few steps back, adjusting her sarong. The trick to bonfires was knowing the exact right distance to stand from them. Too close and you became warm too quickly, but too far and the wind was biting.
When she was satisfied that it was burning well, she drifted back towards the ocean, letting her feet soak as the sun set. She shut her eyes and smiled. It would be a lovely night.

She stood near the bonfire and watched the flames dance.
There was a fascinating thing about fire. And she mostly saw that from a scientific stand point.
In a large bag next to her were several bottles of alcohol.
It wouldn't be much of a night beach party if the adults went without the booze.
booze = new best friend
"Hey. I'm Yuuko. You're Abby, right?"
heeeee Yuuko likes her booze
definitely XD
that's pretty much the only part of the canon I know XD

She heaved a little sigh, setting the shovel down and looking up to watch the flames lick high up into the sky. It was really pretty. She'd never been to a bonfire before, and had been worried at first that such a large fire was dangerous, even going so far as to scoop up several buckets of water. They had assured her though that it was perfectly safe and under control.
It was pretty. Idly...she wondered if Fujimoto had ever seen anything like it before too.

Yuuko leaned down near Kobato and ran her fingers through the sand.

After speaking with Yuuko-san, she goes over to Kobato, a large gastropod shell (http://www.es.ucl.ac.uk/schools/Glossary/gastropod.jpg) in one hand.
"I haven't seen you in a while, Kobato-chan... how have you been?"

He finally emerged from the ocean when it began to get dark, wandering around kind of awkwardly. There were people he didn't know here and he didn't really know how to talk to them.

Clow sighed, turning away from the boy as he left the water, lest he be caught staring. Well, nothing to get frustrated about, he told himself. There would be plenty of time for real work later, and Yuuko would probably chide him for allowing himself to worry about things like that right now.

But she was nervous for another reason. She knew how jealous Hiiragi could get when she spent time with Anthony or Aya. Earlier that week, she had gone on a motorcycle ride with Anthony and he gave her a pink helmet, offering to take her for a ride whenever she wanted. And then there was the Victorian party, where Aya refused to go simply because he didn't own a suit, and she, Ken, and Omi ended up buying him one so that he couldn't use that for an excuse any longer.
It made her wonder... what could she do to keep him reassure him that she loved only him?
It took her several days to think about and she finally decided that 2 things were best... one, the pass code for all her private entries so that there would be no secrets between them, and two, was a copy of the key to her apartment so that he could come over whenever he wished. She trusted him enough to do this, because she knew he wouldn't take advantage of her...
No... he wouldn't do that.
But then... why was she so nervous about it?
She decided to excuse herself and walk along the seashore to calm her nerves a little. She had her sandals in on hand, occasionally bending down to pick up some seashells along the shore, her plain, white beach dress catching the wind on occasion.
Tonight was going to be a memorable one... in more ways than one.

"Uta-chan, I'm glad you came," she said, approaching from behind.

He makes his way over to the edge of the water and sits down, just staring out over the ocean. Speaking of Uta, he glances over for a moment at her as she speaks with Yuuko.

She takes a deep breath, noting her cellphone and the key in her pocket, she makes her way over to him, bending down to whisper, "...senpai, why are you out here alone?"
