Summary; Kuja and Luppi go apartment-hunting.

The ticking was much louder at the carousel, fluctuating in volume as it spun round and round. Luppi sat side-saddled on one of the carousel's horses, feeling rather bored as he observed his passing scenery with an uninterested air. Nothing seemed worthwhile enough for a second glance. He'd already had enough of the nameless, moth-eaten faces he had to see. Really, weren't there better things for this nitwits to do than hang around the carousel?
He supposed the closest ones weren't entirely useless. They helped to keep the ticking at bay, muffling it briefly as the carousel spun him by.
But the carousel wasn't that much fun to be on after the first rotation. What a waste of space, Luppi thought as he vacated his seat and leapt back onto the pavement. There're probably more entertaining places than this shitty carousel.
Before he could get properly annoyed, Luppi remembered why he'd come here in the first place. He smirked, wondering when his fascinating new playmate would arrive.

And that damned ticking!
Perhaps destroying the carousel would be, in fact, a good idea....well. But that would have to wait for another day. For now, he had agreed to share living space with someone, at least for the time being. And Luppi certainly was easy on the eyes - that did help.
Kuja spotted his new friend almost immediately and smiled just a little. He continued in his direction, pushing his hair out of his eyes. Today was sure to be rather eventful...

Luppi put a hand on his hip casually as Kuja approached, speaking once the other was within hearing distance. "You took your time, didn't you?" He tempered his greeting with a half-smile, betraying no annoyance in his tone or posture.
This was one of those rare times he didn't want to start off on the wrong foot.

He studied Luppi for a moment, getting a better look at him. Oh, he did hope that things turned out for the better! To have made an ally so soon after arriving here - it could turn out to be a stroke of luck, if the cards were played just right...
"Well, shall we find somewhere suitable, then?" he asked, almost as if he had been the one waiting. He didn't seem annoyed, really - he was just talking. It was usual behavior for him.
He looked around a little, taking in the sights in this part of the city. He had not yet had a chance to explore anything very thoroughly. Perhaps Luppi would have some insight into the best location for the two of them....

He shrugged, nodding in the direction of the apartment buildings. "There are plenty of choices over there," he paused, mouth curving slightly from amusement. "But I have a feeling you won't like any of those choices. There must a place somewhere around here that can fit our expectations."

Kuja turned back to Luppi. His hair fell back into his eyes on one side, but this time, he left it there. He felt himself smile. It was a good feeling to smile this way again. Like all the world was his stage....
"I'm sure there must be something much better than those buildings. Something more... elegant."

He snapped his fingers a moment later.
"I know a cozy little place," he tilted his head, thinking. "There's a deserted mansion around here~."
no subject
And perhaps if I stay close enough to you, this accursed noise will die down a little, as well..., he thought. It really was quite a nuisance, but he didn't notice it as much, at the moment...
"Hmmm, yes, I think that may do quite nicely? Shall we go find this mansion?"
no subject
"It's a perfect place for us," he replied, nodding his head in the direction of the mansion. "That way. Shall we?"
no subject
"Have you been in it before?" he asked.

"I went inside to check it out a few days ago," he replied, lengthening his stride briefly to be able to walk side by side with Kuja. "It's got fancy furniture. It takes up a lot of space though in the main rooms though. You'll probably like the atmosphere." He graciously omitted the fact that the general atmosphere had been rather creepy.
[ooc; that's okay. xD]

The ticking, it seemed, had all but stopped. It had not seemed quite so quiet when he was around people he had no opinion of. But so far, he was enjoying Luppi. Was that the secret? Well, other than the carousel - which he would certainly have to get rid of? He would have to test the theory once he located Zidane.
"It has occured to me that I know very little of your world. I did not have time, during my life, to study the existence of worlds outside the two that I know. You must tell me more."
