When; Evening, Oct 3rd
Rating; PG
Characters; EVERYONE~
Summary; The HAVE HEART charity ball is ready to roll~
Log;

As she had promised, the party today is by far more commoner-friendly than her previous events.

On one side of the ballroom are long dining tables whereupon some guests are already seated, chattering amongst themselves. On the other side is a wide red-carpeted stage with a jazz band rocking out familiar songs. Wine and champagne are already passed around the room along with appetizers, though the main course is not yet out. But fret not! As soon as you find yourself a seat, one of the waiters will serve you a glass of aperitif and immediately ask: "medium, rare or well-done?"

Most of the guests have used their creative licenses with the dress code, wearing shades of red ranging from orange to purple, but Blair has always been a stickler for rules. Hers is a perfectly red red Reem Acra floor-length gown, complete with the telling bow on the bust. It grabs enough attention as it is, so she keeps the rest very simple, slicking her hair back in a neat ponytail and wearing flesh-toned Louboutins. On her wrist is a donor tag.

She feels very accomplished today, it being the City's first charity ball and her being the one to throw it.

Blair had said "red", and for Rosella, that means roses.

Part of it is that she couldn't resist the opportunity for the pun. Part is that autumn is here at last, and winter is on its way, and then it'll be a long wait until spring before everything starts blooming again. And a decent part of it is that she's here to be herself tonight--not a modern girl, not a future leader of her people, not a failure and not a savior. She's here for the night and she's dressed for herself, and it's as simple as the fact that she's wearing roses because she loves them: roses on her shoes (http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/vv60/Fortunes_Wings/Polychromatic/7jzD.jpg), roses around her neck (http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/vv60/Fortunes_Wings/Polychromatic/Redrosebouquetsterlingsilvernecklac.jpg), and even a red rose pinned into her hair, just above her ear.

To a casual observer, she's just yet another delighted partygoer, albeit one in a slightly unorthodox choice of red dress (http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/vv60/Fortunes_Wings/Polychromatic/fantasy_red_wedding_dress.jpg). Those that know her more intimately might note an almost competitive sort of look in her eyes; she may have a lot on her mind at the moment, but she's determined that nothing will keep her from having a marvelous time tonight.

And so she mingles, smiling confidently at passerby and occasionally fiddling with the donor tag on her wrist. This is a party, she ought to enjoy herself. And that's exactly what she's going to do.

Red is an excellent color for her and Inara is looking forward to the ball. It's been a while since she's attended one. Honestly, she hadn't expected such events in a city such as this. She was pleasantly surprised.

She's dressed to the nines in a vintage red silk Halston gown (http://i35.tinypic.com/6jgh92.jpg). She has a pair of black, strappy heels on as well. Her ears are adorned with square rubies that match the strap on the dress and her hair is half up, pulled away from her face, curls tumbling down her back. The only other 'jewelry' she wears is a donor tag on her wrist.

She picks up a flute of champagne as she walks in and begins to mingle with the other guests.
