When; Thanksgiving day, 11/26
Rating; R just for language
Characters; OPEN TO ALL, I'll add as you come in!
Summary; Inara and Priestly (newly reverted to their adult and multicoloredcoat selves, respectively) are putting on a Thanksgiving dinner in the lobby of Building 10, extending their welcome to anyone in the City who wants it. Feel free to godmod the little things; types of food, who you're seated next to, etc! If your character brings a dish, feel free to harass Priestly or Inara either down in the lobby or up in her hall where the cooking's going down. We'll say everyone gets into the buffet line at about 4ish for consistency's sake and don't worry too much about technicalities, just have some fun! I'll put up some starter threads for different areas, feel free to hijack away! \o/
Log;

Inara had taken care of all of the pretty-making. The hall was decorated with two long consolidated tables, covered with tablecloths, adorned with centerpieces and appetizer dishes and flatware. There were candles lit even in the afternoon, giving the lobby a homey feel to it. They'd counted heads on the RSVP list, but Priestly had planned on making enough for almost double the company. It was nice when you made a decent paycheck and didn't spend much in the way of living.
Inara's floor is filled with the smell of turkey, as many her neighbors had offered their ovens for the bird cooking. It's funny how much people will let you do if you offer them free food and leftovers. He trots between each of the apartments and the lobby, running food here and there, checking to make sure the steam pans on the buffet are still warm and to make sure he's not missing anything.

Looking around tentatively, she called out, "Priestly? I have food for you."

He disappeared momentarily to close up the oven, and then all but skipped down the hall to meet her. "Holy shit I'm so excited about these cranberries I can't even express myself verbally."
no subject
"Wouldn't know it by me."

"Now you know! Hugs express everything, you know. It's like a Vulcan mind meld or some shit."
no subject
"Well, I'm glad for them. And you. Thankful you might even say."

The dish is put on the counter, and Priestly pokes his head into the oven to check on his baby. "Nice, about another 10 minutes on this one. Wanna help me bring some of this shit downstairs to the buffet?"
no subject
"Sure, load me up, I'm glad to help."

Anna maneuvered herself toward the door. "I mean, I don't really need a big tree for just me and Bobby."

Lobby //Greeting // Come say hello!; ota
Selfishly she'd worked hard on decorating the lobby and it was her first dinner party here; her first Thanksgiving in fact.

"A Harper is always ready to play. I never go without at least one thing to play. Is.. there anything I can do to help?"

Table // Eating
The seating arrangements were fluid. She'd set places for her and Priestly in the center of the head table but left the others open for everyone to decide where they'd like to sit.
Re: Table // Eating
Well she was telling that side to be as quiet as possible. Here, she wouldn't have to worry about that.

"Anna, I'm so pleased to see you here! How are you?"

"Hi, Inara. I'm good, glad to be here, actually."

Buffet line // Get yo' food, bitches
Guests can grab their plates from the table and line up in front of all the goodies, including the mains, sides and drinks. The desserts are placed at the end: assorted pies and finger foods and cakes.
