open & ongoing~!

When; Sunday, April 25th~
Rating; Ahahaaaa probably PG? This is not a wild party, folks.
Characters; [livejournal.com profile] had_not_lived, [livejournal.com profile] mumbled_truth, any & all of their friends plz~ <3
Summary; It is was Neil's birthday, so it's time for a (belated) surprise party~ in the park :D
Log;

So it wasn't the most grandiose plan, or even done far in advance, and luck may have turned so that it was on a curse weekend after all, but it didn't seem so bad. Things came together, even if it wasn't a big production, and even if it was a curse, it wasn't a particularly harmful one. Disturbing, in some ways, maybe, but Todd was doing his best to ignore certain stories on the Network.

As expected, it wasn't difficult for him to get Neil to the park, bringing him straight into the surprise party that was waiting for him. Todd smiled widely as he did, stepping back slightly and watching Neil's reaction as he made his entrance. Even if Todd wasn't the most social person in the City, these were their friends... and he knew there were few things that would make Neil happier than having all of them here. This was a slight crowd he could certainly handle.

[ooc: Tag in wherever! Just give the setting in your comment - when it is, if it's open, if you're addressing someone, etc., etc., I'm sure we all know the drill <333 OBVIOUSLY SUPER BACKDATING FRIENDLY sob]

"Well I never had. It was..." The boy pauses a moment, head cocked to one side as he tries to find words that won't belittle the experience or confine it to a cliche. He can't quite manage, in part because he's too distracted by current excitement to properly recollect the experience. And so he just grins, and shrugs slightly. "I'm glad I got the chance."

"That's one of the better things about this place," he nods, "having the chance to do such things. Having the opportunity to celebrate a friend's birthday."

Here he gently nudges Neil's shoulder with his own. Growing older in a world separate from one's own does not change Caspian's perspective much. He knows at least in Neil's case returning home is a bit complex (impossible, they say) and for the Telmarine when he does return to Narnia (because he knows he will) he will be younger again. It won't make any of their memories here any less valuable, the same way a Golden Age's callouses and lines erased from a man's body doesn't make him any less of a king.

"And having the time and space and freedom to celebrate." He doesn't say anything about the fact that this is a birthday he'll never really make it to, but something of the sentiment is evident, a bittersweet note in his smile. But it's not as important as the nice parts of today. Neil has always been an optimist. These days it takes a little more effort. "Todd and I wouldn't have been able to throw this kind of thing at home, really. But I like it."

"In your home? In mine I would have hosted a celebration in the castle gardens for you. We could hold a tournament in your name and I as the king would be honored to participate," Caspian boasts but it's humorous for the fact that he believes such an undertaking would not be to a poet's or dramatist's taste in the first place.

Neil would have no problem at all attending such a festival, but having one in his honor... he laughs. "It isn't really that big a deal!" Settling, he shrugs slightly. "I was always at school so parties were pretty much out of the question."
