Summary; Sam hosts a beach party for anyone who wants to come

Sam had tried to do everything he could to make the beach trip as fun as possible, especially considering all that had happened recently. Not everyone had calmed down after yesterday, but it was enough that he didn't cancel the trip.

He had volleyball set up, a dozen umbrellas for the more fair skinned to take refuge under, and a really ugly couch to put in a bonfire later.

Food and drink also abounded, including enough electrolyte replenishing drinks to help anyone who drank all the alcohol he brought stave off too massive of a hangover. All in all, it was a recipe for a good time. Or at least Sam hoped.

Lucy had been looking forward to the beach party and with Harry's departure that anticipation had turned to nearly needing to be out doing something. She showed up with a hangover in tact and a bloody Mary in a thermos. She'll move onto the alcohol Sam has provided once the Bloody Mary has worked it's magic. She's lying under an umbrella wearing a pale pink bikini (http://media.photobucket.com/image/kristen%20bell%20bikini/bastardlybutta/bastardly-photos/album32/kristen-bell-bikini040101.jpg). She's got giant sunglasses on as well. Just chilling out and enjoying the beach.

Sam had noticed when Lucy arrived. With that bikini, it was hard not to notice. He probably stared more than he should have, but he knew Lucy liked it and he thought he was doing good not to drool.

Once he was done chatting with some of the others, Sam headed over to where she was bathing and laid down next to her.

"Hey."

Bikinis were made for having people stare. At least that was Lucy's philosophy on it. She smiles broadly at Sam when he comes over.

"Hey. Nice beach party."

"Thanks," Sam said, smiling at her. He was glad to see that she was in relatively good spirits, but he thought maybe that was because of the booze she had already started on.

"Thanks for coming, by the way."

The booze definitely had something to do with it. It's also the way Lucy deals. Bottle, bottle, happy pretendy fake it til you make it funtimes until she just can't anymore and it comes crashing down. At which point she sleeps for a week and makes sloth look like a profession.

Lucy leans over and kisses Sam on the cheek. "Thank you for having it."

Sam flushed a bit at the kiss, but he was glad she appreciated it. He still intended to keep an eye on just how much she drank though.

"Just wait until tonight," he told her. "It looks pretty amazing once the sun goes down."

"Puhlease tell me there are smores to be made," Lucy batted her eyelashes at Sam.

She would appreciate the concern if maybe not the eye on her drinking. At least it's an indication she trusts Sam enough to make sure she gets home safe?

"It would not be a bonfire without smores," Sam reassured her. He had enough smores supplies to probably last them a week.

And Sam will make sure she gets home or to the Warehouse or somewhere safe.

Lucy sighed and scooted closer to Sam, resting her head on his shoulder. "It's a good thing. Beach party, smores, bonfires. You should run a therapy camp. Or something like that."

Which is why she trusts him.
