Summary; Tony promised Reinette dinner with him and his wife (Scotch) and then Jarvis opened his big mouth and mentioned Tony's cooking so he has his first house guest

The amount of time Tony had spent cooking was was obscene. He'd started around lunch and made the goat cheese salads. Then the dessert--Tiramsu and finally the entree, shrimp capricco. He'd purposely tried to steer away from French food.

Reinette is the first guest Tony has had to his beach house. It's still not entirely decorated but he's paid Natasha overtime to get it at least halfway there. The living room where he's set up a small table is mostly done, minus some of the smaller touches. All in all, he's settling in rather nicely.

"JARVIS, let me know when she arrives. I'm going to change," Tony says as he heads upstairs toward the mostly unfinished bedroom.

Integrating JARVIS into the house had been his first priority once he'd found the place.

"Agreed," he says moving to refill her wine glass and retrieve the dessert. "However if reports are right, we won't remember this at all."

He puts a plate of tiramisu in front of her and one in front of his place before taking his seat.

"A blessing and a curse, if you will excuse the pun." Reinette takes a bite of the tiramisu, smiling across the table at him. "This is wonderful. You are quite the talented man, Tony."

"Pun or not, I agree but I like to be remembered. Have I mentioned that selfishness is one of my flaws?" He grins and takes a bite of his dessert. "Thank you. As you said, it's like chemistry and that's something I enjoy."

"And here I thought you were the most humble individual I knew," she says, feigning shock. "Seems I shall have to reevaluate my opinion of you. I may consider settling for you selfishness so long as you continue to have me over for dinner."

"It was bound to blow my cover eventually," he says trying to keep a straight face. "I suppose if you can forgive my flaws I'll be able to deal with dinners with you."

"So we shall be settling for one another. Mutual displeasure under the guise of friendship." By now, she's having a hard time keeping a straight face as well. "Strangely promising."

"I know I'm looking forward to it." He's having equal difficulty keeping a straight face. "Such is our fate I suppose."

"It is a wonder we can even stand one another's presence at this very moment. If I were of a more rude disposition I would stand up now and take my leave." She has to cover her mouth, clearing her throat to hide a smile and a laugh. "Honestly, you are insufferable."

"Now see that sounds more like what I'm used to being told," Tony tells her. "Being insufferable is fun. As this night is showing."

"Yet another admirable trait to add to your list. Right below 'complete lack of humility.' I believe that is where we last left off." She reaches for her wineglass, smiling at him over the rim as she takes a sip.

"Ah yes. I remember now," Tony laughs. He winks at her and takes another sip of his drink. "I'm racking up quite the long list of admirable traits."

She shares in his laughter. "Soon my memory shall not be enough to keep track of them all. I would aspire to be like you if I did not feel the goal unattainable."

"I'll have to make notes for you," he grins. "We'll work on it. Step by step. You might be able to make it at least partially. We've got to work on making you more scandalous first."

"I shall do my best," she says, wiping at her brow with her napkin, feigning exhaustion. "But I fear I shall need those notes if I am to keep up with you. Have you already a plan for how I should draw scandal to myself?"

"I'm working on that," he tells her then considers thoughtfully. "I've got the beginnings of one. It involves a great deal too much champagne at the party."

"So your plan is to cause me to take leave of my senses?" She nods slowly, considering what he suggests. "Yes, I imagine that might invite scandal, depending on my actions under the influence of too much champagne. This plan may take a good amount of convincing before I agree to it."

"Then possibly start a rousing game of strip poker," Tony admits with a smirk. "I'm counting on the champagne to help me out."

Reinette is unfamiliar with poker, but understands quite clearly the word "strip". She clears her throat, fighting a laugh. "I am afraid it will take quite a lot of champagne to cause me to take leave of my senses enough for that."

"I'll be certain I have cases," he chuckles. "I may even include a pole in case you get ambitious." He knows she probably won't get that reference either but he's willing to explain.

"I am not sure I could hold that much champagne," she says with a laugh. "And I would rather remain sober so as to enjoy the fruits of my scandalous labor."

"If you'd prefer to play strip poker sober I've got no objections," Tony grins at her.

"You may have no objections, but I do," she says with a laugh and a shake of her head. "I would prefer to stay clothed."

When he answers he's not dramatic at all.

"I have so few dreams, Reinette," le sigh "And you're crushing them all one by one."

Nope. Not dramatic.

"I am terribly sorry, Tony. Truly, I am," she says with a hand over her heart. "You do not know how much it hurts me to have to deny you all these things.

He takes a very dramatic, very deep breath. "Yes. I can feel your pain. Alright then. I suppose I'll have to suffer on but it will be trying."
