Log;

Tayuya slammed the door to her room, running her hands through her hair in a vain attempt to calm the red tresses down. She was led to the kitchen by the smells of dinner cooking, admitting despite herself that it did smell damn good, as usual with Kabuto's cooking. She had abandoned her usual uniform for another outfit she'd picked up in her quest for femininity, despite her feeling that she'd never hear the end of it from Kabuto. But this was him trying to get back at her anyway, and she'd be damned if she'd let him get to her.

She didn't know how he'd gotten Orochimaru and Kimimaro out of the apartment, but she didn't want to know what he'd told them. She'd probably already be in trouble enough for breaking that chair when she'd gotten home on Wednesday anyway.

Kabuto was humming to himself as he set the table. Just for this, he had gone all out. He wanted Greed to get the correct assuption about Tayuya. Besides, he was of the personal opinion that she was too angry, and needed to get laid. If that happened, she couldn't even think of saying anything about his personal life.

He examined his work. Candles, delicate looking and painstakingly prepared dishes (that he had the feeling wouldn't get the appreciation they deserved), and an “excited” Tayuya. This would be amusing.

Kabuto turned to face Tayuya, ignoring her question. "You look very nice. It would seem you really are excited about this." He glanced at the time. "Greed san should be here any second, I hope you're finished primping, or do you need some help getting your hair just right?"

There was a sudden knock at the door.

"Yo, Tayuya! You in there?"

"She's here." Kabuto called as he made his way to the door, smiling at Greed when he opened it.

"Come on in, everything is ready for your dinner. I hope you two enjoy yourselves." As he let Greed in, he left the apartment, and with a final wave, let the two to each other's company.

He watched Kabuto leave, then offered a bouquet of roses to his date.

"What's wrong, babe? You look a bit down."

"Of course," he said, pushing them closer.

"A young woman's life should be filled with flowers and passion."

He inhaled deeply, drawing in the fragrance of the food. Oooh, his favorite!

"So, your experiment succeeded?" he asked, taking a seat at the table.

"Of course not. I have full faith in your abilities."

He sniffed the air again, and looked at the set-up of the room.

"So, what's for dinner? Kabuto a good cook."

"Lessee', guess I'll take some miso, some tepanyaki, a little yakiniku, and some of this nice smelling tea..."

He grabbed what he wanted and settled back into his seat.

"So, what made you want to have a date? Still practicing your femininity, or just because you felt like it?"

He swallowed a small piece of sashimi.

"Right..." Greed felt that she might not be telling the whole story, but decided not to press the issue. Snitches get stitches, as the saying went.

"So," he took a swig of sake, "After we get some dinner in our bellies, how about a little dancing? You have a radio here?"

[identity profile] so-very-greedy.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
"Hell yeah. You're a ninja, right? You must know how to move your body."

He gulped down some miso soup, sighing contentedly. This could take some time.

"It's easy."

Greed got up and walked to her seat.

"Traditionally, the man first asks the lady to grasp his hand, then he leads her to the dancing area."

"After that, they dance. What dance, depends upon the people and the occasion."

He held out his hand.

"Would you like to try?"

He glances around for a radio as he gently led her to an area just slightly off from the table.

"We can use this spot."

He focused on a radio he saw nearby, then went over and turned it to a classical station. He ran back to Tayuya and began to instruct.

"We'll start with a slow dance. A waltz."

He grasped her left hand with his right, led her other hand to his shoulder, and placed his other hand against her waist.

"Now this is a very simple one. You just get a feel for the music and sway with it. Usually one person, usually the taller one, will lead."

He turned counter-clockwise with her, swaying gently to the music.

Greed took note of her tension

"Look, T. Ya' don't have anything to worry about. I'm not gonna' hurt you."

He completed the turn and spoke.

"Closed position means what it says, two people "close" together. Most waltzes consist of a great deal of slow, close dancing. It's supposed to be rather relaxing. Is there somethin' I can do to relax you more?"
