log; ongoing; closed
When; July 3rd, late night
Rating; PG
Characters; Farah [
omelet_fu] and Meredy [
hweeeeeel]
Summary; Farah and Meredy are convinced that the City has its own set of Craymels and that Celsius is going out of control. Mountain climbing shenanigans ensue.
Log; After going shopping for warmer clothes the day before, Meredy and Farah were on their way to the mountain, trudging through the blizzard at a slow but steady pace. It had taken them a good deal of the day to get there because it was nearly impossible to maneuver the blinding white expanse. It was just like when Celsius had gone out of control, and unfortunately Meredy didn't have Efreet to burn away the snow around them. If only Keele were here to help.
"It is just little further, Farah. We must be tough!" she called over the howling wind, hoping to incite the will to move on in both Farah and herself.

"I can handle it no problem!" Farah shouted back over the winds. "I just hope we can get there before things get much worse!"

She squinted through the snow, trying to locate the outline of the mountain as they grew closer to it. She could still barely see anything at all and it was so cold. Cold like when Peruti was encased in ice, a kind of cold she wasn't good at handling. She sneezed softly and scrubbed at her eyes to knock away the snowflakes clinging to her lashes. When she opened her eyes again, she could make out the shape, and despite the grueling climate, she smiled.
"There it is, Farah! Meredy can see it!"
no subject
"I-I can see it too! We're almost there...!"
no subject
"Farah! Do you think Meredy can catch this Craymel too?"
She blinked more snow away from her eyes and- huh. Strange- the snow didn't seem as thick as it was a moment ago. Well, that was definitely a good thing! Maybe the spirit was calming down.
no subject
"Maybe?" Farah responded. "Though if it's another ice-type Craymel like Celsius, I'm not sure if that would work."
She nodded, moving along slowly as she waved a little more snow out of her eyes. There was a pause as she looked -- was it just her or was the storm letting up a little? How odd... either way, she would ask about it later, preferably when they were able to find this mystery Craymel of theirs.

Meredy continued moving through the snow packed on the ground, looking around excitedly as if the Craymel could be anywhere around them. Which was totally possible, but it was much more likely the Craymel would be at the top of the mountain.
"Farah and Meredy should be careful- remember hearing that mountain has monsters!"

She continued to trudge along in teh snow, her expression much better and lighter now that the snow was gone. The lack of a crazy blizzard definitely helped their journey along, too, especially since now they had some visibility, too.
"Ah, you heard that as well?" She looked at her. "Someone told me the same thing -- a Cain Hargreaves, if I have the name right."
no subject
Meredy kept looking around as the snow continued to lighten. That was really weird. Blizzards didn't usually stop so suddenly, did they? Was the spirit already calmed down? Did someone help it?
"Farah... Something not feel right. Snow was very bad, but not bad anymore."
no subject
Grabbing Meredy's hand, she surged forward. "Come on, Meredy. The sooner we reach the top, the sooner we can get answers to this." And considering that the summit of the mountain was close, it wouldn't be very long before they reached it.
no subject
"Farah- maybe snow is because of curse? Meredy not think Craymel is here..."
no subject
Finally, she sighed. "Maybe... I guess it'd have to be. I don't think there's a Craymel here. What kind of curse is this, though...?"
no subject
Come to think of it, Meredy probably should have mentioned that earlier and it could have saved them this long trek up the mountain side. But it had been really exciting to think that there was a Craymel up here.
"Should we head back now?"
no subject
If this really was a yearly event, then they didn't have to worry about there being a Craymel here. Still, a part of her couldn't help but be disappointed that there wasn't anything of the sort here in the City.
Farah nodded, shrugging. "I guess we should... if this is a regular event here then it probably means there's not going to be a Craymel waiting for us." she responded with a note of disappointment in her voice.
no subject
"It look like City not have Craymels. Meredy wonder what everything is made of here."
no subject
"That's... actually a good question." she paused. "If Keele were here, I'd bet he'd know. Though if it's a different world, maybe everything's made of something other than Craymels."

Reminders from home were nice. Meredy would have liked it, at least. Every so often she glanced around the mountainside, keeping an eye out for enemies, and just in general taking in the sight of it all.
Oh. Isn't that an enemy charging from the underbrush at them?
ShenaniganBattle time!"Farah! Watch out!"

She didn't even have time to ask before she automatically reacted, dodging the enemy that came at them and giving it a good kick in the face. "W-what was that?!"
no subject
"Be... Careful!"
She pulled out her Craymel cage to cast. And a glyph flicked beneath her feet before lightning began to crackle around her.
"Lightning!"
no subject
"Swallow Dance!"
One set of flying kicks later, the monster crashes back onto the ground, unmoving.
"...I think that should do it, no problem!" Farah responded, inspecting her handiwork.
