Summary; After spending time on the beach during the school curse, Tyr and Katara decided it will be nice to do so again.
Log;
[It was a nice afternoon out and Katara had a smile on her face as she packed some of the snacks. So, she had decided to pack those biscuits Tyr suggested before. He seemed to like them, after all. She just wished he'd also like some of the snacks she cooked earlier. Cooking was one of the pasttimes she enjoyed in this place and it gave her a bit of joy that she could experiment with some of the ingredients she found here. Once she was done packing their food, she went back to her room to pack some towels.
Towels. They brought a small smile on her face as she remembered that specific curse. She took great care in just reminiscing some of them, though. She took in memory how she swam in the beach with him like it was just plain natural for her to do so. Even if she hated how the City messed with their minds then, she couldn't forget the feeling. Maybe she was over-analyzing it, but Katara found that later today now that they were uncursed, she'd know for sure if the feeling was similar. However, in summary, the curse wasn't so bad. In this place, you were lucky if you get cursed with a friend, even if it was to eventually date them.
Katara derailed that train of thought before it even reached its destination. With a pout, and probably a touch of pink highlighting her cheeks, she finished packing and immediately went to the kitchen to get their food. As she went out of the apartment she and Sokka shared, Katara anticipated a good time. She'd be meeting Tyr by the fountain with a warm smile on her face. She might never get used to this place, but she knew she had already gotten used to seeing Tyr often.]

Though, as he was walking out, he grabbed a bottle of medicine. Looking back on that day, he didn't know why with all the worthless information he learned, he didn't remember that a bottle of medicine could have taken care of whatever happened to her leg. He guessed massage would be the way to take care of it if they didn't have medicine, but...
He shoved the bottle in the bag. The former leader was pretty sure healing minor injuries wasn't on his mind by the time once they left the beach that time. Would he really be like that if things were different? Not that it would make a difference until he was cursed again. Everything - absolutely everything - about that day was better off forgotten. He couldn't leave everyone and everything while he was trapped in the increasingly-small city, but he could still mentally add that distance.
Clearing his head of the memories, he thought once more if there was anything they might need before heading out to their meeting place. Even in a crowded area like the fountain, it was easy to spot Katara with that gentle smile on her face. If he looked back, it was hard to believe she was the same person he remembered showing so much pain only a few months ago.
It made him smile, too. He called out to her, holding his free arms in the air to grab her attention. ]
Katara!

So, to have him as carefree as he was on that day was something Katara cherished. If that curse took away his pain momentarily then she was sort of grateful for that and she was also somehow thankful that she spent time with him, the easygoing, mellow Tyr. Looking for the positive points during specific curses made her stay seemed lighter and easier.
Spotting him, her smile grew wider upon gazing at that smile. Maybe if she spent times like these with him, she could probably erase that pain little by little. She knew she couldn't fully do it, there were some things only some people could do, but she could try. He had helped ease her pain during that time her memory was shown unabashedly to the citizens of this place. Little things like these could help him a lot.
Katara quickened her pace as she waved back at him.]
Tyr!
[And when she was already beside him, she raised the hand that was holding the food.] I brought the snacks. Shall we go?
no subject
Falling into step beside her, he nodded. ] Yeah, let's go.
[ He looked curiously at the food in her hand, though. ] Enough for lunch?
no subject
Upon his question, she returns her gaze towards the food she had brought.]
Yeah, I guess so. It'll be nice eating on the beach. I've never done it before here in this place.
no subject
I've done it a few times, but not like this... [ Which meant he was usually ate alone on the docks, but didn't bother to clarify what exactly "this" meant. ] Did you do this often back in your world?
no subject
[She lets those questions sink in for a few moments before she replies to yours.] ... Not really. We didn't have time. [Because we're too busy traveling the world in order to save it.] Don't get me wrong, we did eat but not usually by the beach.
no subject
[ He thinks now he might have asked that before, or something like it. Maybe because it was still a surprise to him that anyone would enjoy the lake as much as he did. ] Ah, I see... Because of...
--Anyway, this will just be sort of new for both of us, then.
no subject
[She doesn't remember him asking something along those lines, but they have spoken too many times to actually remember if he did. She wanted to continue that derailed sentence, Tyr, but she stopped herself. No sad times for now.]
Yeah, I guess so. Sort of. [And oh, is that the lake now?] It's nice, though, to try new things with good friends.

[ Tyr himself remembered to not talk about things relating to home with her, though that memory came a bit late. But the topic was gone by then, so all's well that ends well?
He smiled a bit at her assessment. ] Yeah. Like surfing today, right? [ Which he's still just a biiit nervous about. ]
no subject
[She knows the topic will be leaning there, so she halts just in time. She's with Tyr, this is supposed to be a relaxing day with him. When he asked his question, she couldn't help but smile wider.]
Yes! I'm sure you'll like it. [Don't be nervous, Tyyyr.]
no subject
[ That's right, Katara. Let's forget about awkwardness and pain, of which we have had plenty in the past. He cracks a small smile at her words. The sea is riiiight there. It's like he can almost touch it. ] I trust you... [ So this weird thing better be fun! ]
no subject
[Yeah, let's, so she continues smiling and walks with him to the beach. Upon hearing his words, she can't help but feel warm inside. Trust is important and for someone you got to be good friends here in the City say that, Katara feels it means a lot.] I appreciate that... [And she lets Tyr see that she really does as she turns to smile tenderly at him. Yes, this would be fun indeed! She promised!]
no subject
[ There's that warm smile of hers. He returns the smile, partially to reinforce those words, before he speaks again: ] So what is it like?
no subject
Upon seeing him smile, she thinks letting him experience surfing will be worthwhile.] It's like riding the waves... in simple terms.
no subject
That sounds relaxing. I worried it would be something more... [ He searched for the words. Exciting? He didn't want to imply it sounded boring, though, so he just let himself trail off with a relieved smile. ]
no subject
Do you want to eat first? Or we could already swim? [Either way sounds fine for her.]
no subject
At her question, he shook his head. ] I already ate... [ But let me just set my bag beside the food. ] Have you?
no subject
[And she looked back at the inviting sea.] I guess the water's waiting. [She wasn't entirely sure if she should be the one to take off her clothes and this momentarily made her blush.]
no subject
Yeah... [ He paused, too, looking out to the water for a moment. Last time, they had actual outfits to go swimming in. Tyr didn't keep that, nor did he bother to buy another. It was just a pair of long shorts anyway. Wasn't what they were wearing sufficient?
...Anyway-- Nothing seemed to be happening, even though Katara said that. He looked back over to her then, noticing her reddened cheeks. ] Are you okay?
no subject
Right?] I'm fine. Let's go for a swim. [With a smile, she started unbuttoning the sun dress she wore from behind.]
no subject
...If that was the case, Tyr wasn't going to be shy and go in fully clothed, either. Turning his back to her, he pulled off his shirt and tossed it in the direction of his bag in a single motion. Should he take off his trousers, too? He had shorts on with it just in case, but... ]
no subject
When she had finished, she turned around once more and was rewarded by the sight of his shirtless body. Okay, so maybe this was getting a bit too awkward. She approached him, though, so she could toss her dress along with his pile.] ... Are you swimming with those trousers? [It was an innocent question since you swim with short shorts, right?]
no subject
[ Suddenly, he realised that was a pretty stupid thing to confess to, and just took off his trousers. They weren't too short, but were above his knees. Good enough as far as Tyr was concerned!
Tossing them, along with his slippers, to the pile, he turned back to Katara. ] --All right, let's go.
no subject
It's still pretty warm... [Okay, thinking out loud here.]
no subject
totally checking her outa bit surprised when she takes his hand to guide him to the water, but goes along with it.At her words, he nods. ] We chose a good day, then... [ He kicks his feet around a little, walking in further. ] Does that help when you bend it?
no subject
Katara also kicks her feet around a bit, guiding him along, but not overly so. Just enjoying his company above anything else.] Not really. I can bend frozen water too. But I've always liked the feel of warm water... we never got much of this in the South Pole.
no subject
Mentioning being able to bend frozen water comes as a bit of a surprise to him, though. He wonders for a second if he should ask more about home, but... ] It doesn't make a difference for you what state the water you use is in?
no subject
Katara smiles, however faintly, as she remembers the different instances she used different states of water.] I've used my breath once to turn it into ice. The vapor in the air is also a state of water, after all. [Then her smile goes wider.] One time, I even used the sweat on my forehead.
no subject
His eyes widen a bit as she explains the different ways she's used it. It's amazing to him. ] Wow... So you can essentially bend water any time you want to?
no subject
That's basically it. [And without any air of pride in it too. Katara's very humble. When she dives in, she gazes around to make sure Tyr is with her, though.]
no subject
When she raises to the surface again, he admits: ] I wish I had that sort of ability... You make it sound easy.
no subject
It was a compliment all on its own, but Katara shakes her head gently, still with a smile.] It was never easy... I have to learn by myself most of the time. [It was the truth. Back then, Katara can't even do a waterwhip but now she can move huge waves!] Do you want to surf now? It's one of the tricks I've learned while waterbending.
no subject
With the change to surfing, Tyr takes this as his cue to stop talking about her past and the waterbending business. ] Ah, sure. What do I have to do?
no subject
She smiles when he agrees, grabbing his hand again to lead him to the shore.] We have to go back to shore. And just hold on tight to me, okay?
no subject

[ But he's still holding on with his hands linked around her waist. It's not a strong hold at all, but as long as they're somewhat together...? Maybe he should hold his wrists instead. Yeah, he'll do that. ]
no subject
Now we hop on this and enjoy the ride. [She seizes his hand to guide him.]
no subject
...All right. ...Shouldn't we wear shoes on this?
no subject
[And with both her hands doing a pushing gesture from below, the fun begins!]
