She didn't want to bother Suzaku, so she called her friend, Flynn, instead. Taking his arm, they walked through the city with no particular aim in mind.
"It's a lovely day."

"It is. It seems we picked the right time for a walk."
It wasn't too cold yet. Recently, the nights had become cooler. It was going to be winter soon, after all.

He paused then, thinking very briefly. "Is there any place you wish to go to?"

"I can only think of Xanadu..." He continued to think, with a serious expression on his face.

"The fountain?" Flynn echoed, before shaking his head apologetically and smiling. "Of course. The fountain is always nice, isn't it?"

And as they walked towards it, Flynn talked about his memories of the fountain. "The first time I met Lady Estellise -- when she arrived, that is -- she'd just fallen into the fountain. It seems a lot of people tend to fall into it, as well, upon their arrival."

"Yes, I remember that. It was so cold that day."

They stopped together in front of the fountain then.

He didn't know how it happened though, but when he blinked, he thought- no, he began seeing something inside the water. It was strangely clear.
"Alexei... Yuri...?" he mouthed idly as he watched the memory unfold.

Her breath catches as she sees Yuri attack a man she doesn't recognize. It's the third such attack she's seen recently from him, but it doesn't get any easier to watch. Still, when that girl rushes her friend, she cries out, "YURI!"
She even reached out toward the water as if she might catch the small image to keep him from falling, but her hand only caught water, causing it to ripple and the image to fade from sight.

Even if Yuri were responsible for Ragou and Cumore's deaths, Sodia shouldn't have had a reason to do what she'd done to Yuri at Zaude. They'd decided to work together against Alexei. They had had a common goal, and just that alone should have stayed Sodia's hand. That was enough reason! As a knight, it wasn't right at all to attack someone you were asking help from. It was... treason.
He wanted to say it couldn't be true, that the memory couldn't be possible... but he remembered seeing a similar wound on Yuri's chest months ago. It was only...
It could only be true.
Flynn stayed silent.

"Flynn? What was that?" She turns large, concerned eyes toward the knight. "Yuri...he..."

His hands balled into fists at his side. Yuri-- this was something he'd been keeping from him all this time. Did Yuri think... did Yuri think he wouldn't believe him if he told him Sodia'd stabbed him? Did he think their friendship mattered so little to him?
no subject
Wait.
That girl—the one who stabbed Yuri—she has seen her before. It was so many months ago in a curse. She was inside of Flynn's dream, wasn't she?
"Flynn..."
Her voice is soft and her hand reaches out tentatively hovering just above Flynn's arm, unsure if he's ready for comfort or if he needs a moment. "Was that Sodia?"

Alexei had injured him then, kept him from facing the former Commandant with Yuri then.
"She was the one who told me how Yuri had simply fallen..."

The hug was comforting, but it did very little in calming the dreadful feelings welling up within him. He wanted to believe that, but he'd seen the wound on Yuri's body, seen the look on his friend's face after he'd seen it. Flynn knew Yuri well, and because of that, he knew that the memory they'd seen must've been right in some way.
Yuri would have had no reason to keep that a secret from him, otherwise.
"I- My apologies. It looks like I'll have to cut our time together short..."
He needed to see Yuri, and to talk to him in detail about this.

"I... I intend to," he answered honestly. "But I'll take you back home first, Lady- Euphie... Your safety is important."
"I... it's not going to be wise for me to see him so soon."
And he pressed his lips together. Yuri was good about hiding his feelings and keeping secrets. Flynn, he thought of himself, wasn't so much that. Sometimes, he wore his heart on his sleeve, like now.

And maybe punch him, he thought bitterly.
