The Importance of Being Earnest | OPEN LOG
When; Friday, November 5th
Rating; probably not too high?
Characters; Anyone who would have come to see The Importance of Being Earnest is welcome to tag in (tho not required) as are cast/crew/etc of course
Summary; As mentioned here, Friday night at 7 pm the Opera House (I think?) is hosting the City Players in The Importance of Being Earnest. Feel free to tag on in, label your threads as to where and when and how (before or after the performance, open or closed, backstage or in the audience, etc.)
Log;
Managing to pin down not one but two dates without curses is always a feat, but that minor success pales (in Neil's mind) to the execution of the play. It's funny; because one might expect, given the heights and depths of his supreme moods, that in the hours after a play he'd come down from his ecstasies, but really, right now all he can think of is how amazing this was, and what to do next.
After the final bows, after they all file offstage, he pauses a while to catch his breath backstage before rejoining his fellows and heading out into the milling crowd of the audience.
[ooc; as always for reference, your playbill is here. I know there's still some backdation going on in the rehearsal threads but, I figured this way we open it up for the audience too :3 will keep up tagging as best as i can but really, GO NUTS GUYS.]

Backstage | Proceeding Into Audience
When the bows are concluded, she rushes backstage at once, not bothering to remove her costume--frankly, she doesn't particularly want to anyway, since it's so lovely and elegant and delightful to wear, like all of Cinna's designs--as she seeks out all of her co-performers and congratulates them with a hug or a smile (or a kiss on the cheek, even, if they're one of her very close friends).
Then, as the cast proceeds out to mingle with the audience, she follows along cheerfully, eager to seek out all the familiar faces in the crowd and see how they liked the performance.]

Oh my goodness, you did so great! And I loved your costumes.

[Penny is quick to find Rosella and give her a hug, careful not to damage the gorgeous outfit or smash any of the bouquets of carnations she's hauling around.]
You were amazing! And you look gorgeous! Oh, here...
[She hands her a small, colorful bunch of carnations.]
[Action]
[She accepts them with a bright smile, still a little flushed from the excitement of it all.]
Did you enjoy it? Oh, we had such fun with it, I do hope you liked it too!

Neil? That play was amazing.
[Even if she didn't understand all of it. It was still awesome. She offers him a small bouquet of red carnations.]
You're a really good actor, you know.

So have a mingling princess, still in costume, wandering about!]
[Action]
[And the red-head is now blatantly admiring her costume.]
[Action]
[She doesn't mind and it doesn't even embarrass her since she admirers the costume maker's work too.] All the clothes were impressive I thought.

[It's easy to spot the pink-haired princess. Penny has been wanting to talk to her for a while about that nightmare, but this isn't the right time for that. Now is a time to be happy.]
What a great show, and you were incredible!
[Oh, right. Penny hands Euphie one of the bouquets she's carrying--pink carnations, naturally.]
[Mingling!]
I'm so glad you enjoyed it.

Oh, I know.
[He manages a straight face for about three seconds, before the corner of his mouth quirks up.]
No, really, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
