When; Backdated to early morning November 1st, after the masquerade curse
Rating; PG-13 for mild swearing, maybe?
Characters;
musntbeboring,
construire;
elevatorkick
Summary; In which they wake up to find that they've stolen a car. A very important someone's car.
Log;
[ There's a lot of things going on at the moment. For one, there's a parked, expensive-looking Audi on a side street in one of the less busy areas of town. There's three people in its general vicinity, all dressed very nicely. The sky is a dark bluish color tinged with a little bit of red — the color of dawn as the sun first peeks over the horizon. Under this pleasant sky, Arthur currently has Eames held up against the side of the car, his fists curled in the lapels of Eames' expensive coat as he speaks in a quiet, deadly tone. ]
Eames. We are taking this car. We are driving it very carefully back to City Solutions. And we are telling Mr. Stark that this was all a terrible misunderstanding. A terrible one. You got that?
[ He's perfectly aware that Ariadne's about five feet away and gawking at him like he's crazy. Maybe he is. He knows he was the night before. His memory's a bit fuzzy, but he recalls it all too well. For now, focusing his anger on the one who suggested that they dress up in the first place seems like a good idea. ]

Obviously we were cursed. [ And that's what pisses him off so much, really. He'd heard about curses affecting a person's state of mind. He'd even seen it occur through the network. Hearing about it and seeing it are completely different form actually experiencing it, however. This was just like the nightmare he'd had the week before, when he'd thought he'd been in limbo for years. The idea of someone being able to just mess with his head like this. Of being able to make him think anything they wanted him to. It reminded him of, well, inception. If there was one thing Arthur couldn't stand, it was the idea of someone messing with his mind without him even knowing about it. Naturally, it was a risk in his line of business, but one he'd always liked to believe he was good at avoiding. ]
Let's just get in the car and get this over with. [ He steps aside from Eames and reaches for the front door. ] I'm driving this time. [ His gaze is back on Eames, as though daring him to raise an objection. ]

[ This could be a male dominance thing. It's more likely a stalling tactic to avoid going getting caught. ]
Do you even know how to drive stick?

[ Arthur notices that Ariadne's already on the front passenger side. He's grateful to her, he really is, for being so cooperative in all this. He makes a mental note to thank her later. Preferably when he's not focusing on resisting the urge to punch Eames and just take the keys by force. ]

I'll meet you back at the flat, then, shall I?

Take the passenger side, Eames Just don't fight, not while we're in the car.

It's up to you, Eames. [ He regards Eames with a completely neutral expression before opening the driver side door and stepping in. ]

You looked lovely tonight, Ariadne, by the way.

Thanks. By the end of this, at least we can say we looked nice.

Once he's made sure everyone's present and accounted for, he steers the car away from the curb. It shouldn't be that hard, really, he thinks to himself as he plans everything out in his head. He just needs to park the car somewhere reasonably close to the City Solutions building, apologize to Mr. Stark profusely while assuring him it won't happen again, and then crawl into a hole somewhere for the next few weeks. The fact that this is all a dream that's gone on for way too long really doesn't help the situation. Arthur stays silent as he drives, his mind concentrating on the road and the ridiculousness of the entire situation. ]
