Summary; It's a holiday party!

The setting is set, the lit holiday tree, the evening's feast, the specialty drinks, even the mistletoe has been placed with precision.

There will be music playing, room for dancing, and once Caspian arrives, there may even be sleigh rides.

And thank the Gods, there's not a curse. So come in, sing a few carols, open a few gifts, make some merry and be jolly.

Mara wandered about the party in her new dress (http://janethillstudio.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/holiday-dress-500x679.jpg). She was nervous, unsure if she'd done everything right, if people would come, or even if they did, if they would enjoy the evening. With all the entertaining she'd done as a Reaper of the Order, she had never been the hostess, only part of the decoration.

Really, she just wanted all of her friends to be happy. Especially with the chaos of the month, she knew they could use a break to enjoy life.

"Hey, Mara." As soon as Umi spotted their hostess among the attendants, she went over to say hi. The Water Knight knew she'd probably get no other chance to do so in the whole evening, busy as Mara would be greeting all the guests. "Great job. The place looks amazing!"

"Umi!" Mara smiled and headed towards her new friend. "It's thank to you, I wouldn't have known how to do any of this without your help."

He knew she'd been nervous, but she really didn't need to be. The house looked amazing and Ken knew everyone would have a great time. Sneaking up behind her, he wrapped his arms around her waist, leaning in close enough to rest his chin on her shoulder.

"Evening, beautiful. The place looks almost as pretty as you do."

Her hands moved to cover his arms, leaning back against his chest. "You like the dress? I asked for something for the holiday and this is what the woman pulled out for me."

The least he could do was say hello to the hostess before he went to get himself out of the way. So, Aya moved over to Mara and gave her a little smile and a polite nod in greeting.

"You did well with all of this, Mara." True he'd needed a little convincing to come but he was here now.

"Aya!" Mara beamed, seeing Ken's quiet friend and she leaned up to give him a welcoming kiss on the cheek. "I'm glad you came, and thank you for the compliment, although I can't take all the credit."

Euphie feels a little awkward when she arrives, but she seeks out the event's host, wanting to show her appreciation. When she finds her, she smiles warmly. "Hello, Mara. This is a beautiful party."

Knock knock at the door. Cameron comes in a little hesistantly - she doesn't know anyone but Ken here and even Ken she doesn't know well - but it beats not celebrating Christmas and she's never been shy about meeting new people, so why start now.

She's wearing a pencil skirt, a soft Cashmere sweater and high heels that can't quite hide that she's, well, small. In one hand, Cameron has a pack of cookies - bought, not home-made. She smoothes down her sweater with the other and straightens up, looking around for someone to give the cookies to, or someplace to leave them.

"Hello?" Mara looked at the stranger curiously. She didn't recognize her, but she certainly knew there would likely be strangers that were friends of her friends. Putting a smile on her face, she approached and offered he hand.

"I'm Mara, welcome to the party."

Lucy came with her family, or at least with Caspian - she loves parties, especially holiday ones. Although she's still young, this holiday is the first in a long time that she's a teenager, and while she's not wearing heels she is definitely looking much taller in the dress she's chosen.

She doesn't look so much like a little girl, but like a young lady, excited for this party.

Mara doesn't recognize the young woman, but she decided to go over and say hello, anyway. She was the hostess and it was only polite.

"Hello, and welcome, I'm Mara, I don't think we've met, have we?"

Umi had been one of the first guests to arrive, if only to get a good chance to look at the place before it got too crowded to appreciate it. The decorations were gorgeous and Mara's house was certainly as big as Ken had described it: truly the perfect setting for a party. She had to commend their hostess for all the enthusiasm she'd put on planning the whole event.

Standing around in her apparel of choice (http://i53.tinypic.com/111qvpg.jpg) for the evening, the Water Knight made the most of the fact none of her acquaintances was yet in sight to scold her about it and enjoyed one of the drinks.

Ken had been keeping an eye on her, but he was still a little unsure of actually moving over to talk to her. He knew he'd been an ass to her and wasn't sure he'd be welcome.

Euphie arrives a little late after checking over things at the welcome center, unsure if there was anything Penny was handling that she needed to work on. "Hello, Umi. You look beautiful."

While Ken wasn't the host, he was dating the hostess, so he made sure to smile and greet as many people as he could. It was nice to be around people in such a warm environment and the lack of a curse just made him feel better.

Once he'd made a round, he settled himself against a wall, much like he'd been at Fuu's party. This time, however, he was actually off off duty. That in itself was rare.

Punch in one hand, Cameron made her way over to where Ken was standing. She'd seen him come in and talk to people but figured it was polite to hang back since those were his friends and she barely even knew him - but still knew him better than anyone else here.

"Hi," she smiled. "Nice party."

She sees Ken making sure the wall doesn't go anywhere and heads over to greet him. "Hello, Ken."

He wasn't sure why he'd decided to come really but even he attended parties sometimes. Even if it did mean lingering near the wall so he could people watch. It had always been a preference for him. Aya had never been the truly social one.

That had been his sister.

Smiling to himself, he looked around at the decorations.

...You think of the devil and she appears. Or at least her closest alternative. Spotting Aya by the wall wasn't hard this once: Umi'd learned of this habit of his at Fuu's party. It was all good and fine to keep to oneself, but that didn't mean she was going to let the redhead get lonely at a Christmas party. Less so after she and Ken had been wondering about him!

"Doing your thing, huh?" She went to him with a smile on her face, waving happily. "Fine, just don't think you're having it as easy as you did at Fuu's party. You should at least try dancing tonight!"

There was other purpose to this, of course. Umi wasn't about to let any shameless guest try to trick her brother under the mistletoe if she had to get violent.

True to form, Rose had shown up in a fitting black dress. With a drink in her right hand and several sips later, she just stood there admiring the decorations on the tree. It was just simply gorgeous. And the music was rather brilliant too.

Mercy wasn't sure she really wanted to be here and she didn't know if Derek was going to come by, but still, she was here.

Mercy may not have been certain she wanted to be there, but Mara was overjoyed to see her friend. She was glad that so many people had come and she wanted to make sure that she talked to everyone at least once.

"Mercy!" With a smile, Mara took Mercy's hands in hers and gave her a welcoming kiss on the cheek.
