Log;

Coming off his shift at the Bluelight, Seth sent Summer a text message. The first read something like a newspaper column in the form of a ramble where he realized he hadn't actually asked the question he had wanted to ask. The second segued into missing new films coming out and the third finally got to the point. He was proposing a last minute date because he and Summer hadn't exactly been spending time together. Since New Year's - which admittedly had been low-key and better than the last what with no talk of pregnancy or immaturity and no marriage proposals - he and Summer had sort of, felt like a reboot.

Maybe reboot was the wrong way of putting it and he certainly wasn't going to share his theory with her but he felt as if coming to the City meant they all had this ... chance. A cosmic chance. And besides, they had to do what they do best, discuss Ryan and Taylor - four-point-zero? How many times had they done this dance? Well, this was one more. He had to give Ryan props for the stunt he pulled on New Years. Taylor could've closed the book on him for good.

That was a funny thought. Taylor actually closing that book.

Taking a seat at one of the tables, he waited for Summer to arrive.

While normally a last minute date may have peeved Summer, she was actually happy to do something, to get out of the house. And with Seth. It had been weird being in the City after her return, Christmas curses and unicorn attacks aside. She felt restless, like she should be doing something else.

And well, she should be. She should be riding on a cramped, smelly bus with G.E.O.R.G.E. trying to save the world, one otter at a time. But at the same time, there was a sense of peace, being here with Cohen, as crazy as the whole situation was.

So she arrived, dressed (http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=15691492) in something simple but cute, a smile tugging on her lips when she spotted him sitting alone, at a table. "Hey Cohen."

She had her own manners, thanking him for pulling out her chair after she gave him a quick kiss in greeting. "Does that mean you eat for free?" It was as good a place as any. And it wasn't like they were rolling in money, something, she supposed she would've had to get used to while traveling. "No church for me, Cohen."

"Good point, you could be bumming it up and playing video games," she snorted softly, grabbing a menu to look at. She considered his question before shrugging. "Ryan is brooding, Taylor is obsessing. What's new, right?"

"No, you didn't miss anything. I was just guessing," she feigned annoyance, hiding the curve of her smile.

"I don't know," she glanced at him for a moment. "Think about it, what's the longest Ryan has ever been with a girl, since you've known him?" Granted, it wasn't by his choice most of the time but still.

Summer shrugged at that, because really, she didn't know. Ryan seemed to balance out Taylor's complicated crazy. But at the same time, he didn't need anymore crazy or complicated in his life. Not after his mom and then Coop. His whole life had been full of both. But... "People totally probably said that about us, you know?"

Summer laughed at that because maybe she was still a little, tiny bit bitter. "Because we had no drama, what with Anna. And you sailing off on your boat. And Zach. And the comic book. And you lying about Brown."

"They just compressed the drama. I guess that could be... really bad."
