[With one of the few reacquired skills he's picked up, Gremio prepares a pot of tea as part of his usual morning routine. It's possible he might be able to handle a simple breakfast...though he'd be better off leaving it to his housemates--Luc or Riou. Between the three of them, surely one can cook a good meal while he cleans.

And as far as he remembers, they don't live with anyone else.]

[ So it might be a surprise when a boy with uncombed hair walks into the kitchen behind with with a small smile on his face. He let himself get used to waking up early, if only because he doesn't want a repeat of the last few kitchen disasters. And thankfully, this didn't seem like a day to make hard-boiled eggs in the microwave. ]

Ah, Gremio. How's it going?

[Surprise? Oh, yes, and it shows on Gremio's face. He composes himself quickly, though, offering a polite and friendly smile...One that still lacks any recognition.]

Oh, good morning...I'm sorry, I didn't see you come in.

[stargathering]

...It's fine. [ That's a strange look Tyr has never had turned his way. He tries a joke to maybe get rid of it. ] I guess my footsteps have just gotten quieter.

[ Walking close beside him to ask: ] Anyway, what do you want to breakfast? The others might be sleep in a while yet...

[All that joke gets in response is Gremio's eyebrows, slightly furrowed in confusion. He watches this strange kid--probably a friend of Riou--curiously the entire time, but decides he's polite enough for offering to cook breakfast, even if he could still use some better manners.]

If you don't mind cooking, please feel free to help yourself to anything. We certainly won't be picky.

[stargathering]

[ ...mrr. Tyr wonders if Gremio is in a mood. Thankfully, Tyr always has his denial about these things cranked up to eleven. ]

[ His voice is a bit soft. Moody Gremio is weird. ] I'm not going to cook for everyone; I just want to make something for us... So tell me what you want.

[axeofoath]

[Now, this is more than a little strange. They won't be dancing around the issue for long, as Gremio frowns and asks outright:] Well, that's...a nice gesture, but...You are one of Riou's friends, correct?

[stargathering]

... [ Actually, it's more like Riou is one of his friends, but... ] Yeah, we're friends. What does that have to do with this?

[axeofoath]

[Gremio narrows his eyes suspiciously. Honestly, what sort of friend says something like that?] I'm assuming he invited you over for the night--and without asking, though I suppose that's not entirely necessary.

[Hands on his hips, in a good reprimanding pose, he sighs.] In any case...What is your name, young man?

[stargathering]

[ Tyr's face falls. He's not slow, even if he doesn't want to believe this. ] --You really don't remember me, Gremio? I'm Tyr... We've lived together for... [ years? More than that-- ] for as long as I can remember back home.

[axeofoath]

[It makes him feel a little awkward, to have a complete stranger saying this with such an expression. Gremio shifts uncomfortably, but gives a firm shake of his head.] No--Tyr, that's right? I would certainly not forget if I lived with someone such as yourself for that long.

[stargathering]

[ It's not hard to tell how uncomfortable he's making Gremio, but he can't tell teach Gremio who he is like he taught him how to make tea. He's also just a bit offended with how Gremio referred to him! ] Then what do you remember? From back home...

[axeofoath]

[Tyr can have politeness as a formality at best right now...No fawning over "young master". Really, Gremio doesn't think this is any of Tyr's business, though he'll humour him a little bit.] Naturally, I am a servant of Master Teo McDohl's household, and have been for at least the past ten years. [And not once in those years does he ever recall this boy.]

[stargathering]

[ Tyr has never missed being "Young Master" so much. But if he remembers that much, he should remember him! There's no way Gremio was serving the family before he was fourteen. ] Then how can you say you don't remember me? I'm Tyr McDohl, Gremio.

[axeofoath]

[Gremio actually takes offense to that, his face flushing indignantly.] I can assure you, Tyr, that there is absolutely no way that Master Teo had any illegitimate sons! If this a joke on your part, it is a truly poor one.

[stargathering]

[ Tyr takes much more offense to Gremio essentially calling his mother a tramp. ] --I don't care if you're cursed or not, but don't speak that way about my family!

[axeofoath]

[And as far as Gremio's concerned, Tyr is the one who started this and shouldn't be getting angry. This is really trying his patience.] Then I would kindly ask you not to suggest such shameful things, Tyr. I will not tolerate any indecent lies about my master.

[stargathering]

I won't tolerate even you tarnishing my family's name to my face! Do you even remember my mother? [ No, he's not going to refer to his parents by anything but their familial titles. ]

[axeofoath]

I would do nothing of the sort! I do not know who your mother is, though I should certainly like to have a word with her. [About Tyr's behaviour. What kind of decent young man says such slanderous things and then takes offense?]

[stargathering]

...She's not here. [ Anywhere. Tyr doesn't even remember her beyond maybe an old picture or two. ]

[ He calms down, just so he doesn't need to get worked up more over this. ] --I don't want to talk about that anymore. Do you remember the war?

[axeofoath]

[Despite a sigh, Gremio doesn't pursue that topic any further. Of course--he assumes Tyr's mother is back home, not here in the City.]

The war? Of course I do, though I should think you're a little young to recall it. [The Succession War, of course.]

[stargathering]

[ Saying that, Tyr knows which one he's referring to. ]

I remember parts of it... [ He puts a finger to his own left cheek. Hinthint. ] Some things you can't just forget...

[Sorry, Tyr. Gremio doesn't get the hint, though he eases up a little bit.]

...They were hard times, to be sure. However, I'm afraid I don't see what you're getting at with this discussion.

[stargathering]

[ Dang. It wasn't very good anyway, even if the whole thing was scary to Tyr. ]

...I'm trying to make you remember. Like... do you remember how you met Riou?

[axeofoath]

[The entire incident doesn't exist in his mind. Though if Tyr were to ask, Gremio wouldn't be able to say where he obtained that scar...]

I've known him since I arrived in the City, of course. Tyr, I'm not certain what this is about, but there is nothing for me to remember.

[ He sighs. It feels rather hopeless... ]

...If I showed you proof that we know each other, would you acknowledge it?
