Curt may not have any idea where he is, but he figures it's probably a good idea to leave, especially if there's someone who's probably not an alien that is on his way to find him and maybe get him pizza. He can't possibly belong here, after all, not with the totally weird and too large clothes and the cat that almost bit him when he tried to pet it. So he grabs a backpack and starts filling it with everything that looks it might be money, several candy bars, and a few items of what he has no idea are his own clothing. He's never really stolen anything, except packs of gum, but it looks like he's going to have to survive on his own so he might as well be as practical as he can manage. Maybe it'll be good practice for running away, if he ever gets back to a place he wants to run away from.

Sleeping at normal times is for people who aren't hypomanic. Which means the Campbell is literally just getting home about now, after fiddling about in the radio station and doing whatever he felt like, really. He unlocks the door, comes in and shouts "Hey Curt!" It's his usual 'coming home' precaution.

Curt is very surprised to hear his own name. He doesn't recognize the voice, and for a moment he considers hiding, but his name isn't common and there's a slight chance that this is someone he actually knows and who can provide a perfectly sensible explanation. So instead he cautiously peeks his head into the hallway and calls out a very cautious "Hello?"

"Hi?" says Campbell, because that doesn't sound like Curt. He walks a bit further in so he can see. Yep, it is definitely a kid, and not Curt, and he is 99% certain that is not Curt's sort of thing. Well. He has a little bit of a theory based on previous curses. So he says "Curt," again, and pushes his hair back a little anxiously.

Curt stares for a moment, but doesn't recognize the man. "Do I know you?" He knows it's possible he should. The treatments make it hard for him to focus and maybe they've been damaging his memory too. And then there's the fact that someone knew the other boy. "Are you an alien?" he blurts nervously.

"Nah," says Campbell. "I'm a loony, no an alien." As usual, he is overwhelmingly comforting and helpful. "I'm Campbell. You know me in the future."

"Does that mean you're one of the patients? Where are we?" Curt does his best not to act afraid. He has a lot more questions, but holds them back, afraid they'll just all tumble out in a mess.

"I'm always one a' the patients, even when I'm NO one," says Campbell, grinning at Curt. He always KNEW Curt was a loony! This proves it! "We're in our flat, in a city called 'the City'. How old are you, Curt?"

Curt crosses his arms and regards this self-confessed crazy person warily. Of course, he spends most of his time with crazy people, but right now he could use somebody who makes any sense at all. "I'm thirteen."

"Right," says Campbell. "Okay. Have y' eaten yet today?" Because now he is going to make a token attempt at babysitting a kid who is...only seven years younger than him.

"Just a candy bar. I'm supposed to be getting pizza." He realizes he's actually pretty hungry, now that he's been getting out of panic mode.

"Oh aye?" says Campbell. "Where from? Cos I cannae cook. I mean, I can, but it's no edible, really. I was gonna order somethin' or say we go to a diner if we had to."

"Stephen said I could come over and that Neil was going to get a pizza. They're supposed to come find me." See, Curt knows people. Sort of.

"Stephen? Stephen Stills?" What are the odds Stephen told Curt his last name? Unlikely. But he does remember that Neil is Stephen's roommate, so that's something. "He's a pal of ours. Well, mine now, and yours in the future. You come wi' me and we can go where he lives. What are you a patient for, by the way? Or do y' just live wi' loads a' patients? You don't have t' say, I guess, really."

"Dunno. I told him which building I was in, and he said he was on his way." Curt looks down for a second and scuffs his sneaker on the floor, but instead of lying or not answering, he meets Campbell's eyes. "I'm at Wayne County Sanitarium. They're zapping my brain."
