Characters; Asch the Bloody ([livejournal.com profile] stupidgenes), Luke fon Fabre ([livejournal.com profile] chosenfake), and Guy Cecil ([livejournal.com profile] servidude).
Summary; Asch is moving back in! Luke and Guy try to help. Shenanigans ensue.
Log;

To his credit, Luke only fidgeted a little as he stood on the doorstep of Asch's place. He hadn't been here before and he felt incredibly alien and invasive. But he never let that trepidation get in the way of his concern regarding the way his original lived, and besides, he promised he'd help. Even if Asch had refused any aid, Luke would have shown up anyway. He didn't want Asch to do everything by himself, and... to an extent, Asch was the same way about his replica.

Though Guy was with him, in this moment it was all Luke. He reached up and knocked on the door. This was just another step in what was definitely the right direction.

Guy leaned in the hallway, arms crossed as he watched Luke. As conflicted as he was about Asch, he couldn't say this development made him happy. He couldn't seem to get along with Asch--yeah, he didn't hate him. In a way he still felt responsible for Asch, so looking out for him a little was only natural. But living with him again? It was bad enough the first time, and it was probably not going to be better this time.

But Luke was happy about it, and Asch... Wanted to. So fine. He wasn't going to complain about it. If he looked a little more closed off and unreadable then... That was to be expected, right? Asch brought back a lot of bad memories and a lot of conflicted feelings for him, after all.

Asch had done some quick work and already boxed things, most of which were necessities. His place was rather neat and tidy, so it wasn't especially difficult to pick up and go.

Let's see... Clean bedspread, sheets, blanket. Cooking wares. A set of dishes even though he never had company. A few useful things from here and there. Box of Sentimental Important Things™ that people shouldn't really touch. Yeah, they could probably tote most of this stuff all in one trip.

No, it wasn't like he'd been planning to move back in all along.

He began to wonder where the replica was. After all, he said he'd be over soon. Did he forget to knock or something? Actually, Asch almost felt excited about the replica's company. Just almost. Feeling impatient, Asch swept to the door and opened it.

Oh, there's the replica now. And Guy, not too far behind him. For some reason, Asch hadn't anticipated that they'd actually have gotten there as soon as that. But that was fine; they didn't need to know that.

"Don't tell me you were just waiting for the door to open."

Guy nodded at Asch, just a tense greeting. He'd seen the place before, but Luke's puppy-like eagerness was almost endearing. He watched the two of them, noting the way they interacted. If Asch seemed any more open to Luke than before he couldn't really tell, and Luke's eagerness for acceptance was just too obvious. He didn't comment, he had nothing to say.

His gaze followed the replica's to meet with Guy before Asch nodded in response. Then he noticed the replica's attempts to peek past him into the apartment.

"There's not much left to see," he said while stepping aside. "I packed up a lot of things."

No, that doesn't mean that he's excited to move back! Not in the slightest. He's just the type of guy who likes to be prepared, you know, to leave when he needs to. Yeah. Very utilitarian. Anyway, Asch had also labeled the boxes for easy unpacking.

"You can come in anyway. It's not like you can help me move by just standing there."

Guy followed Luke in without a comment. Asch really did live like a soldier. There wasn't much to take... Between the three of them they probably could move Asch back in one trip, maybe two at the most. Guy could at least respect the economy of that kind of lifestyle.

He checked the labels on a stack of boxes, picked the whole thing up when he realized most of them were light contents and started back for the door. No wasting time with words and pleasantries and the like for Guy. The other two could visit if they liked, he was here on strictly business.

[identity profile] stupidgenes.livejournal.com 2011-07-20 10:22 am (UTC)(link)
--of course, everything was so organized! When people move to other places, they typically pack all the things up and mark the containers. If said container contents happened to have mixed contents, it was important to mark those as well. The only thing preventing Asch from shooting back a response was a headache-inducing almost-facepalm-worthy dumbfounded feeling.

"Because it's already all put away."

Even if it wasn't all in boxes, it probably would all have been put away. Neatly. But it would have come so naturally to Asch that he wouldn't even notice or make a point of it.

He noted Guy's silence and decided it was best to respect that. Van had shown up in the City sometime after Guy has given Asch that pep talk about making a purpose for himself. Time had since flown by, and he still wasn't entirely sure what he was doing anymore. None of that wore away the awkward between him and Guy, nor did distance make anything better. It didn't solve anything.

Asch had been giving the boxes a last once-over when Luke suddenly became quiet. Then he plucked up a box for himself before noticing that the replica was trying to cheat and pick up two. Sure, they could probably take this in one trip, and Asch was actually kind of excited to move back, but he wasn't in that much of a rush!

"Hey, wait! Don't just--"

It was a little too late for Asch to set down his own box and rush to the replica's side. Instead, his hands were both freed up for a double palm to the face as things came crashing down.

[identity profile] stupidgenes.livejournal.com 2011-07-26 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
He stood for a few seconds, hands still clapped over his face as he took deep breaths, before silently walking over to help the idiot. In his frustration, he momentarily forgot why he'd wanted to move back in with the replica. This wasn't exactly quality time bonding, and Asch foresaw many more similar scenarios in the future.

"We don't have to take it all in one trip." Of course, he still sounded angry, but he strangely managed to keep the volume down to not-quite shouting indoor voice level. "There's no point in rushing if you're going to knock everything over."

Asch put his hand out to stop the replica from picking any more shards. "I'll take care of that. Just pick up the rest and pack it away again."

He figured that shouldn't be too difficult. How could the replica screw that up?
