It had been a long day, and it was far from over. Amy shuddered internally, thinking of the images she saw every time she closed her eyes for longer than five seconds. This curse was definitely one of the bad ones.

At least Rory and the Doctor were both alive and well - as well as one could be, at any rate, with the nightmares lurking. And they were about to have dinner together, which should have been a highlight of the day - Amy Pond and her boys - if not for Rose.

He was still vaguely intrigued by the fact that the curse seemed to have effected all of them. Granted, sure, that happened every now and then, but usually at least one of them managed to escape somehow. It seemed. To be fair, he hadn't paid quite as much attention when there were just the three of them, and he was also thinking about it because it made not thinking about other things easier. Like the images. Or how much he wasn't looking forward to supper regardless of the group comfort aspect. People, meeting... people. On the one hand, yay; on the other, noooo no no no.

This is all sorts of Not Good and Rory, sitting down at their table, hopes that with any luck, the food will arrive before the dam breaks. Because there is a dam. He's felt the water building up against it. Honestly, he and the Doctor might as well not be there. Especially him, because he is trying to be as quiet as possible. He knows any attempt at mediation will just be seen as butting in. He wishes that weren't true. But he is definitely not awake or settled enough to even attempt to say the right thing, here.

Rose started out nervous about this meeting and it quickly progressed to...well what it is right now, filled with tension waiting to break. She can't help but think of Rory and Amy as the ones who'd replaced her, despite the fact that she knows about Martha and Donna--she even likes Donna, sort of. She is trying to reserve judgement about Amy and Rory because she knows from meeting Sarah Jane that it is difficult being in their position but that train of thought only goes so far with Rose. Mostly because it was supposed to be her with the Doctor. She'd promised once she'd stay with him forever.

Rose hates breaking her promises.

She takes a sip of her water, clears her throat and forces a bit of a smile. "So how long have you all been in the City?"

"About four months," Amy replies shortly, after a pause that is a little too long, but not into fully awkward territory yet. There went her hope of having Rory talk to Rose and getting around doing it herself.
