(no subject)

When; Slightly forward-dated to tomorrow, August 8th
Rating; M for violence and kismesitude between trolls
Characters; Sollux Captor and Eridan Ampora
Summary; Sollux is still feeling restless in the wake of a bad weekend, so he goes to try to figure out what the fuck Eridan is doing.
Log; Sollux hadn't wanted a recuperacoon more since his arrival at the City than he had the previous night. Every time he tried to relax into the nest of blankets and pillows he'd made on his sleeping rectangle, he just kept thinking about Aradia and Feferi and Kanaya, and Karkat's guilt, and how much of an idiot he'd been, so many times.

After a fitful sleep, plagued by nightmares, he woke before dawn and lay in the darkness, irritated with himself and restless.

Finally, he got up and dressed, grabbed a few slices of that weird soft white substance the humans called 'bread' for breakfast and left a note on the kitchen table.

i just want t0 clear my head
i'll be back

Then he headed out of the apartment, careful to shut the door quietly.

He wandered for a bit, then bought a map and examined it carefully with both tongues. After getting his bearings, he headed for the docks where Eridan had been fishing, before. He suspected the sea-troll would be doing it again, since it had something to do with his returning powers, and he still wanted to know what the hell was up with that.

He reached the docks and tasted the air, smelling that familiar grape colour. He edged along the dock towards that faint trace, keeping low so that the boxes and other objects would keep him hidden from view. Eridan was probably under the water, but he could tell where he had been, just a bit. He would be able to tell when he surfaced, and then find a good vantage point to wait and spy.

Eridan was getting better at fishing with each day that passed, which was good, because it meant doing this shitty thing for Sollux wasn't taking him all day anymore. Additionally, after the first day when he had been continually stopped and talked to by various beach goers, he had developed a habit of surfacing under the dock before absconding.

This time, however, there was something blocking the slats of light, and Eridan paddled himself slightly for the angle and it was SOLLUX and he ducked back down, under the water, down as far as he could go this close into shore.

What's Sollux doing here? Eridan couldn't think of a reason other than to spy on him. Which was nosy, and FLATTERING, and invasive and fuck, what did Sollux think he was doing?

He had a few options, obviously, but the one that naturally seemed the most tempting was the one that involved messing about with Sollux, especially after the other troll had insulted him. All he had to do now was hope Sollux doesn't move drastically from where he was when Eridan last looked.

Distorted through the water, Eridan can just manage to catch a glimpse of the top of Sollux's head. The opportunity is too good to miss. Swimming around to the proper side of the dock, Eridan readies himself, and then barely making a noise, kicks up to emerge far enough out of the water to grip onto Sollux and drag him off the dock sideways, rolling him as he pulls so that Sollux will hit the water backwards. Should be interesting to see what happens.

Eridan went 'oof' as a kick connected with his chest, and he let go of Sollux momentarily before swimming around him, keeping a wide berth before he lunged in to seize Sollux's wrists and pull him further away from the docks. He wanted Sollux completely reliant on him, for once, not able to just dismiss him and tug his fucking fins as always.

Satisfied he was far enough away, in addition to being out of sight of anyone who could try and stop him, Eridan turned Sollux around once again, pushing at his chest and lifting his head above the water.

"Wwhat did you think you wwere gonna find out?" he said, instead of grinning nastily like a shark, which is what he felt like doing. "Spyin' on me."

"You don't seriously fuckin' wwant that," said Eridan, treading water and rolling his eyes. "That wwould be ridiculously cliche." He loosened his grip on Sollux all the same, letting him slip further down into the water. "Anywway, I like this. Havvin' you in person and havvin' the fuckin' advantage." He tries not to imply 'for once' but it hangs in the air anyway.

He could get addicted to this pretty easily, this amount of touch. Now that he'd calmed down himself, he was back to hyperawareness, Sollux's knuckles curling against his chest, his hands at Sollux's thin, bony sides, under his arms. Real, solid touch, nothing fleeting.

He couldn't bring Sollux back to shore, not yet.

"I don't fuckin' see wwhy I should," he said, lip curling, "after all, you wwere the one wwho came here. You started this and you don't evven wwant to fuckin' finish it?" A slight trembling in his hands was all the warning Sollux received as Eridan let go of him entirely.

Eridan didn't move with the extra arm around his neck, but he couldn't stop his fins from fluttering slightly. This was amazing. This was brilliant.

"Wwhat did you come here for, then? Scopin' out the fuckin' beach? I'm not an idiot." Eridan took the opportunity to paddle them out a little further. "If you can't take the fuckin' currents stay out a' the tide."

"Wwouldn't you like to knoww," said Eridan smugly. Naturally, he had no idea himself. He was just basking in the touch and the control he finally had over someone, no, over SOLLUX. "I think wwe're gonna go for a fuckin' swwim." Grinning at him finally, Eridan grabbed him again and dove down, under the water.

There was always the slight edge of temptation with his hate, still wanting to blame Sollux for Feferi's death, the thought that maybe he might feel better for taking some sort of twisted revenge. But he needed Sollux too much to follow through. And thus, he kept an eye on Sollux's face as he pulled him through the water, watching for whenever it would be that the landweller really needed air. Having Sollux at his mercy was brilliant, but it wouldn't be really interesting unless he fought back at least a little bit. And he'd found the caves underwater while trying to fish...

When Sollux started to struggle, it occurred to Eridan that possibly he didn't have much to go on to work out whether someone was drowning or not. Fuck. Stupid unibreathers. Gripping Sollux more tightly, he kicked them quickly up to the surface, bursting from the water.

"Wwe're goin' dowwn again," he announced, after he thought Sollux had had sufficient time to catch his breath. "You'd better take a fuckin' deep breath this time."

Odd, the expulsion of energy from empty sockets. He winced slightly as it hits him but it really was negligible.

"I'm givvin' you one last chance," he warned him. "Take a fuckin' breath." He gave Sollux five seconds to take his advice and then dove down again.

If Eridan wasn't careful he'd end up fucking pitying Sollux, and that would never work. So he swam as quickly as he could, down again, through a stony wall and then up until he emerged from the water into an dank, enclosed cave, pushing Sollux out of the water and up onto the rocks of the cave.

Only 50% of the cave had solid ground, the rest dipped down alarmingly quickly into the depths of the sea. Eridan swung himself out of the water to stand beside the other troll, and waited for Sollux to react. This was either going to be fun, or it wasn't. Honestly, he partially wished that none of the other trolls were in the City, so he could just keep Sollux here, for his, with no complaints.

"In a cavve," said Eridan, the word coming out strange in his accent and bouncing off the walls. He crouched down abruptly, fisting a hand in the side of Sollux's hair, the side of his hand almost brushing his horns as he turned Sollux's face up to look at it. It was harder to tell about his powers when he didn't have eyes. "I could just fuckin' leavve you here, you knoww. There's nothin' stoppin' me."

He hadn't really planned this out, he was just letting it happen and hoping an idea of what to do came to him soon. Even if he did want to take everything he could from Sollux, right now....he didn't want to jeopardise their kismessitude.

‘Now what?’ Now to gloat in the power he’d gained. He was feeling the most settled he had since he arrived here, finally, something and someone he could control.

“Now I do wwhatevver I fuckin’ wwant,” he said, his voice low, practically a purr. “And I wwant evverythin’.” His claws dug into Sollux’s head, enough to draw blood as he kissed him, all blood and teeth and ferocious grinning. Who was the pathetic one, here? He pushed Sollux back roughly onto the ground, driven by the near-compulsion of wanting to be the clear operator of the situation.

Eridan kissed until Sollux retaliated--yes--and it was better for it, because it meant he was complying, it meant he really did want this kismesis thing and the want wasn't all on Eridan's side. He was beyond the toying Sollux did and into the pure hate at the base of all this.

He fought back with his own tongue, sliding against Sollux's before he made a choked noise, and then gasped, arching slightly forward at the feel of Sollux's claws, raking down his back through his shirt, tearing the fabric, sharp red lines of pleasurable pain. He scraped his claws across Sollux's head and dug those on his other hand into his shoulder where he was pushing him down into the rocks.
