CLOSED ♪ unfinished ♪ what's wrong with me
When; Backdated to October 3rd.
Rating; PG-13 for violence and language, POSSIBLY.
Characters; Luke (
chosenfake), Mithos (
twisthervision), and stalker!Asch (
stupidgenes).
Summary; Luke tries to sway Mithos back to the good side with the power of shounen. Asch pops up at some point to make sure Luke doesn't become an hero.
Log;
[Sword strapped to his back, signature white coat apparent, Luke waits in front of Yuri's house for a certain blond angel to appear.
Luke isn't quite sure why he's here. He could turn a blind eye to what Mithos did, the words he said... but they hit him hard. How could anyone treat another like they're less than human? And he-- he acted like humanity was trash. If Luke is less than human, then... what does that make him? He's a replica of a human, after all...
He doesn't know. He doesn't want to know. And to an extent, he doesn't care.
This isn't about Luke. It was never about Luke. It's about stopping someone Luke knows from terrorizing the City, from hurting other people. He'll start by talking to him to make sure this is real.
And then... and then... if Mithos can't be talked out of it...
Luke doesn't want to take a life. He's taken so many-- what's one more?-- but he doesn't want to take another life. Would that even solve anything in a city that brings back the dead? He has to find a different way. Something... has to work.]

[So he was a little surprised when Luke decided that he wanted to meet with him in person. As long as the redhead didn't do anything stupid, Mithos would spare him. There was no point in getting more filthy human blood on his hands today.]
[He disappeared from inside of the house and reappeared directly outside of it, still in his angelic form. Luke would be here soon, so the quicker he could get this meeting over with the quicker he could leave.]
[He glided to the front of Yuri's house, knowing that it most likely be the location Luke would be at. Once he reached the front of the house, he immediately set his eyes on Luke.]
I'm curious, Luke. What would you like to talk to me about? What is so important that you wished to speak with me in person?
NOW THAT LJ IS COOPERATING
more sparklymore dangerous, and his voice doesn't sound anything like the uncertainty Mithos usually carries. Still, Luke stands his ground. He feels so small, but that's never stopped him.]
Is this who you really are, Mithos?
[Somehow he keeps the trembling out of his voice. Somehow.]
When you came to the City and you needed friends... all the time you spent with Guy and Yuri and everyone else...
Was all of that a lie?
WOOOOO
[Mithos gazes down on Luke, a smirk on his face. The boy's questions are almost amusing, really, if they weren't so pathetic.]
Of course. I needed a way to gain people's trust in the City. A way to gather information that would be simple. Befriending the humans was too easy, really. All I had to do was pretend I was just a frail little child and I had them eating out of the palm of my hand.

[He trails off, taking in these cool statements with an expression that can only be described as confurious.]
You didn't have to lie. [Maybe this makes Luke a bit of a hypocrite, but...] People don't care if you're human or not!

Regardless of how people think, no one here will stop me from creating my Age of Lifeless beings.

He'd followed the replica out just to make sure he wasn't going to get into any trouble. After all, the network post had likely demonstrated a mere fraction of Mithos' capabilities. Though he doubted he could stop Mithos, Asch would at least be able to stop the replica or drag him away if necessary.]
You trick people, use them and toy with their emotions. Then, you throw them away like trash.
[Facing Mithos, he stops in front of the replica.]
It's no different from Van.

[And then there's another redhead on the scene. Luke trails off abruptly, shocked and embarrassed and... perhaps a little flattered.]

I just came here to talk. [Though the fact that Mithos hurt Sodia like that is... God, when did this get so /wrong/?]

What I am doing is for the greater good for everyone.

I will do whatever it takes to achieve my goals. The costs don't matter as long as I can create a perfect world for my sister.

[Even if Sodia had been a complete stranger, it still wouldn't have been right.
Hearing that Mithos would completely disregard human life for the sake of creating a perfect world disgusts Asch. There's little difference between that and Van's ideals of freeing Auldrant from the Score by replicating everyone and everything.
It'd be futile attempting to reason with either, but Asch wouldn't know the first thing about stopping Mithos.]
Talking is useless. [There's nothing they could do... for now.
He turns away to go back home, though he's hoping the replica will follow his lead and just give up.] Do what you want.

It's terrifying. He stands there as Asch starts to walk off, feeling numb and cold all the way to his toes.]
You're wrong, Mithos. You're going about this all wrong. You don't have to do this. [He takes a deep breath and finally looks up at the angel.]
I really wanted to be friends. I'm not human, either, but I still-- there are people in this world, and my world, that I want to protect.
[He takes a step back, shakes his head, and turns to follow Asch.
Now they have to figure out what to do. About Sodia... about the future.]
