[closed; in progress]
When; November sixth, around noon.
Rating; PG/PG-13 for potential potty mouths and Wanijima shenanigans.
Characters;
trasalire and
theshinjukucroc.
Summary; Big brother, papa-- bropapa? Whatever it is, Akito’s more curious about other things- and leaving Kaito alone sounds like a horrible idea.
Log;
[ Knocking on the door of the apartment he had lived in for several months sounded- strange, to say in the least, especially since he was pretty sure he still lived in this one, despite Agito dragging clothes and tool out into the apartment Kazu had moved in. No, it was still definitely his home here, so the hand that had been poised in front of the door to rap his knuckles against it was instead moving down, opening the door just enough to peek his head on through. ]
[ If he wasn’t in, he’d turn around and leave, come back another time; there was no need to wait around or anything like that, after all; Kaito would be fine waiting another day. ]
.. Papa?

But he'd just wanted a bed. At least, that was all he was going to admit to when asked.
The fact that his whip was in the other room was a good sign he was there somewhere though.]

[ The things he could do to avoid other things that he wasn't quite sure how he wanted to do just yet. ]
[ -but being awkward about it wouldn't make it easier. He tapped softly on the door leading into the bathroom, the lack of response surprising him just a bit- but with how quiet it was, it was obvious enough he wasn't just in some other area wreaking havoc like normal. No, silence meant he was asleep, and he wasn't on the couch. ]
[ The form on his bed when he checked in there was evidence enough of that. Gently, he moved one hand out, pushing against Kaito's side to try and wake him up. ] Hey, it's too late in the day to be sleeping, you're going to mess up your sleeping schedule, napping like this.

Grumbling, he opened an eye to frown at Akito.
Then it dawned on him. That was Akito. When the hell did he get back?]
What do you want, Akito? I'm sleeping here.
no subject
[ Who is the parent here? Definitely not the little boy, who's shoving against Kaito in attempts to get him to get up. ]
This is my bed anyway, Papa. You can get your own.
no subject
[Still, he was sitting up at least, shoving his hair out of his face. he was going to have to fix the little clips somehow. Later though. He didn't feel like it currently.]
Did you forget that part?
no subject
My stuff's still here, you know. I haven't left yet.
[ Excluding the passed week when he was entirely absent from the place, at least. The things that were still lying around the room, as few things as it was, were still his, and he didn't intend to leave them behind if he did decide to move. ]
[ That hair, though-- it definitely looked much worse than it should have. ]
Do you want me to fix your hair for you, Papa? It'd probably be hard, with only one hand.
no subject
[He fumbled around a bit before remembering that oh yeah...he intentionally left his cigarettes in the other room. Well fine then. He wouldn't light up right now.
Kaito glanced over at Akito when he heard the offer though. It was a bitch to try and do it with one hand...]
Fine. Might as well.
[He then stared at him a moment.]
Why are you here?
no subject
[ Standing himself back up, he disappeared into the bathroom for a moment, and came back out with a hair brush in hand. He didn't answer the question yet, instead choosing to climb his way on behind Kaito on the bed, fingers pulling out the little clips to set them aside while he brushed out any tangles that might have formed. ]
..why didn't you tell me about Mama and what happened back then before?
no subject
Why? Hell, he didn't want to answer that. This emotional crap wasn't what he was good at. Maybe if Gazelle had lived then she could have handled that part. She probably would have been good at it for all he knew.
She got him to open up of all people.]
It was better for you not to know.
no subject
[ His hands busied themselves, brushing through the strands, and putting the clips back in place whenever he had finished combing through certain areas-- it was a good distraction, at least. ]
I think it was worse. I never knew whether it was something I did that was wrong, why you kept me caged like that, why things were the way they were. It hurt, you know. I appreciated you taking care of me, raising me, teaching me things that I would probably need to use later on in life, but. Mama and Papa, sometimes I'd wonder about them, why they weren't around, why it was just you and me. Not that I minded, at the time. I did, when you were shoving me into that cage, locking Agito and I away, using us when you wanted to, how you wanted to. I wondered why they weren't protecting us from that. With the few things I could remember from before, it wasn't really surprising.
[ Another clip was in place, leaving a good third of his hair finished. ]
You didn't have to carry that weight around without me. Whether you're my big brother, or my father, it doesn't really matter. We're still family, and family's supposed to support each other, right? Not shoulder all of it themselves.
no subject
Gazelle had been bad enough. But their son too?]
Buzz...buzz... There's an annoying fly in my ear.
[Then he frowned at the wall ahead of him.]
Birds don't fly away if you clip their wings. You can't lose them that way.
[Which was as close to a real confession as he might get. And if anyone paid close enough attention they would notice a slight tremble.]
Shitty birds are supposed to fly though. So the feathers always grow back and soon they're flapping and fluttering off before you know it.
no subject
[ He took a few moments, to fix another two of the clips and set the hairbrush to the side. ]
Maybe I should go find some rubber bullets and shoot them into the walls, or something like that. Or throw things, that seems to work well enough, too.
[ Leaning forward, he pressed his forehead against Kaito's back, fingers dropping the strands of hair. ]
I'm so mad, I should hit you. Birds may fly off, but that doesn't mean they won't come back. I really should hit you, for all those times, and for ruining the apartment, for shooting at me, those things.
no subject
I'm hearing a lot of what you should do there.
[And none of it actually happening. Reaching back, he went to pull Akito around next to him. It wasn't forceful though. Just that it was easier to put a hand on his head if he could reach him.]
For all this talk about all the crap I pulled, you two didn't try hard to leave until the Storm King showed up.
[He wasn't pointing fingers surprisingly. But it was the truth.]
no subject
Ikki's a bird, I knew that back then, and that he'd be the one who could show me the way to the sky I wanted to fly in.
[ His lips spread into a smile, hands moving to press palm-down against the mattress on either side of himself. ]
Ikki's wings are so wide, I wanted to tuck myself right under one, to find that sky, where everyone could fly freely. Before him, you were all I knew, all I thought I would have. But, thanks to that, when the time came, I knew when to jump into it. Agito, too.
no subject
[Shit he sounded a lot like his mother used to at times too. She always had those ridiculous notions going on in her head.]
Why'd you come back here, Akito?
no subject
[ The question, he paused for a minute after it was spoken, thinking over exactly how he wanted to answer it. ]
I don't trust you all off on your own. You can't even take care of your hair properly like this, can you? Your team isn't here, and Akira isn't, either.
[ Reaching over, he wrapped his fingers around the rest of the clips, leaning over Kaito to put those back in place. ]
If you're mean to me again though, I won't hesitate to leave you off on your own here. Agito says he'd kick you in your shoulder, too.
no subject
[He reached over and shoved his device in his pocket. It wasn't like he needed to flip through this Network thing right now.]
I didn't care about my hair. I was going to fix it after I slept.
[Somehow. Sort of. Okay, not really. He was just talking big.]
no subject
[ Slouching over, he leaned the side of his head against Kaito's good arm. ]
Agito left because he was upset. Kazu was getting.. overcrowded in here, and since he had moved out anyway, it was much more simple that way. They're both still training hard, all the time- so it would have happened eventually, anyway.
no subject
[Wouldn't that be nice.]
Oi, Agito. I know you can hear me. I didn't tell you about being your father because you couldn't handle it.
[And with that, he's done with this emotional business.]
I need a cigarette.
no subject
[ If he hadn't been used to the yelling in his head, there definitely would have been a wince when Kaito spoke to Agito- instead, he just shook his head, gave himself a moment, then moved to stand up. ]
Do you have any left?
no subject
Getting up, he scratches his stomach before putting his arm on the kid's head.]
How long are you staying anyway?
no subject
I'll stay until Agito needs to go and train with Kazu, or until you start destroying things up again. Whichever comes first. I don't have anything to do around here, anyway.
no subject
[It's the honest answer. Since Kazu left he hasn't been nearly so destructive. Funny how that works out.
Still, he gets off of Akito and heads out to go find where he left his cigarettes. Probably on that table somewhere.]
no subject
[ When Kaito got off, he followed after, keeping a few steps behind him. ]
He's the one who let me come and stay here, long before you got here-- and let you stay in here, too.

He should grow a pair.

He's part of team Kogarasumaru. My team.

He still lacks balls.

He's my friend.
