Summary; It's Dave's six-and-a-bitth wriggling day! ...or rather, his 14th birthday.

Sollux had taken to just walking in when he got to Dave's room, but since tonight he knew Dave was going to a restaurant with Bro, he didn't want to accidentally interrupt something extremely ...ironic.

So he knocked and then leaned against the wall to wait.

It was very ironic. They went to a vegetarian restaurant despite Dave's aversion to vegetables and every mouthful of tofu made him want to horf. It was the best birthday he's had in ages.

Luckily, they get back before Sollux shows up and Dave ushers Bro back to his own apartment via the very crude hole in the wall well before the knock on the door even happens. He spends much of his time flopped over his bed, waiting for something to happen.

Then there's the knock and he's on his feet, flashstepping halfway across the room to open the door. Totally smooth. "Hey."

Sollux straightened and smiled as the door opened. "Hey," he returned, peeking behind Dave for any sign of Bro, then slipping his arms around Dave's waist and leaning in close to give him a birthday kiss when he saw no sign of the older Strider. "How wath your dinner?"

"He's next door," Dave offers to Sollux's questing gaze around his apartment before returning the kiss, leaning in to his arms. "And it was shit. Food was awful and the entire place smelled like weed. Best birthday I've ever had."

"Well, it'th not over yet," Sollux purred, shaking his head with bemusement at the description of the food. "And I hope that my part of the thelebration ith better than a bunch of shitty food."

"I dunno," He loops his arms around Sollux's neck, pulling him into the apartment and closing the door with his foot like a fucking pro. "It was pretty good shitty food."

"Let me tathte, then," Sollux said, leaning in to kiss him, his tongues sliding into Dave's mouth to explore. "Fuck, you tathte like hopbeatht chow," he murmured against Dave's lips, snickering. "Grothh."

Two tongues probably shouldn't still be that surprising to him all things considered, but it still makes him go all weak and jelly-like at the knees. "What do I usually taste like when I'm not rocking Natalie Portman's wet dream?"

He took a few moments to nibble at Dave's jawline and up to the cute curved shell of his ear, then slid his tongues over and around it. "You alwayth tathte like you. Betht flavour ever."

"My, uh—" Jesus, those sure are tongues tracing his ear. Give him a moment he's accidentally short circuited himself, dragging the blunts of his nails down Sollux's neck. "—Brother, cut a hole through the wall as a door between our apartments. 'Cause he wants to make my life as difficult as possible." Aka, he can totally walk in at any time and it's pretty much the worst thing ever.

"Oh, yeah, that'th lame." He lifted his head and looked around, spotting the hole. What a mood killer. "Maybe we should go to your rethpite block. Or, uh, thtop making out and watch a movie or thomething, if you prefer that."

"Yeah, we're totally going to spend my birthday watching Egbert's shitty movies on our shitty couch. My respite--" Oops, shit, he's got him saying it too. "My room it is."

Sollux grinned and disengaged with one last peck on the lips so they could walk the short distance to Dave's room. "I gave kk a whole pile of shitty movieth tho I'm jutht ath glad. I'm going to have to watch them all, no doubt. I'm sure we can find thomething more fun to do."

And like the gentleman he is, Dave holds open the door, gesturing inside. "I'll never understand how he can watch that shit. Ten minutes into any one of them and I'm struggling not to gag."

Sollux enters the room and sits down on the sleeping rectangle, scooting up to sit against the headboard and making himself comfortable. "They're not that bad. When kk getth going about romanthe and thtuff I jutht nod in the right platheth and mothtly think about other thtuff."

Dave pretty much throws himself down as casually as possible, like a heaped bundle of coolkid just kind of tossed about. So smooth. "Other stuff?"

He scoots down a bit and stretches out, letting a hand rest on Dave's stomach. "Would you believe me if I thaid 'you', or would that be ekthethhively thappy?"

He lets a hand drift down his own stomach to rest atop Sollux's, lacing their fingers together. "Nah, I'd tell you that was a good answer."

He grins and squeezes Dave's fingers. "Well good, I wouldn't want you to think I wath lame."

His other arm slid under Dave's neck and he gave him a hug, pressing a kiss to his cheek. "How long have you been in the Thity?"
