Spring Festival [OPEN TO ALL!]
When; Friday, April 6 2012, afternoon into night
Rating; Various! Warn if you need to on individual threads.
Characters; EVERYONE EVER!
Summary; Spring festival
Log;
Xanadu is buzzing this afternoon with with food stands and booths with games to play and trinkets to sell or win. There are a couple of stages where people play instruments, sing, juggle, and otherwise entertain.
People donated money, time and materials to bring everything together. Some areas are very polished and professional while others have more of a homemade touch, but it blends together nicely and there is a little something for everyone. A little further from the main attractions there is space for relaxing or playing a game of frisbee or catch.
As the evening settles upon the City, paper lanterns light up an outdoor dance floor and a band plays a range of music from romantic to spirited. There are also tables set up for those who would prefer to star or people gaze.
(OOC: As mentioned here please feel free to have your character/business set up a booth or stand or to be performing under the appropriate headings! They can be doing if for money, free, or charity. General Mingle | Booths: Games/Merchandise | Food Stands | Entertainment/Street Performers | Dance)

Re: open;
An admirable appetite, I see.

I'm always hungry.
[She eats constantly, but she's still underweight for her frame. It's the Reanimate virus that's been left inside of her, contained but not eradicated.]

[It was difficult, when the world felt like a stewpot he was swimming in, to show restraint. Everyone smelled like food. Every opportunity could be a killing-spree. Taking his mind off it, he focused on Carla. Something about her scent--her aura--felt off. He couldn't put his finger on it. But it reminded him of withered roses and death. Something exhumed. Unnatural.]
Are you here alone, Ms. Carla? Or with company?
no subject
[Said with a lazy sort of humor. She's not sorry at all, and if anyone were to try to make a snack out of her, they would discover the exercise quite unpleasant when her blood began to run over their teeth.]
I came with Blonde, he's taking in the scenery.
[Read: women.]

I wouldn't dare ask. To be honest, I've never had much of an appetite for sweet things.
[Or human food in general. Everything tasted like dishwater. One of the byproducts--or perhaps casualties?--or being a Chevalier.]
Scenery, hm? [A brief chuckle.] Whatever was he thinking? If I were in his place, I wouldn't let you out of my sight.
[Spoken with an undertone of mischievous warning. The red dress was a bullseye where most vampires are concerned. If Karl noticed it, others surely would too. But perhaps this woman was less brittle than she appeared.]
no subject
You think I can't take care of myself, Karl?
[An airy question as she pulls apart some funnel cake with her fingers. She and Blonde have always been alright doing their own separate things, but he has let her know how he feels about other men getting too close.]

I'm old-fashioned, I suppose. In my day, ladies seldom went out for walks without escorts. But times have changed since then. And ladies are no longer such delicate little ninnies.
[He didn't have trouble imagining she could take care of herself. There was always something vicious, feral in this one's eyes. Coupled with her disquieting, deathlike aura, he wondered if she was as human as she appeared.]
no subject
[They came in all shapes and sizes and sexes. She says that casually, chewing her way through the sugary pieces of fried dough.]

[He found most humans wretched and pathetic. He'd learnt, under Diva's tutelage, to despise them as lesser beings. How Diva would shriek, to see her terrible, reckless Karl, leashed like a puppy now. By Solomon, of all people. Head-tilted, he watched Carla tuck into her cake. For such a slip of a thing, she had a... remarkable appetite.]
Is there any particular food that you fancy? [A grin.] My treat.
no subject
I think you should surprise me.
[What can she say. She likes to make people work for her.]
no subject
[He smirked, scanning the periphery of food stalls.]
Ice cream, perhaps? And cinnamon rolls, if you have room?
[Even Diva had enjoyed the occasional sweet-stuffs at carnivals. He still remembered how much fun they'd had, going on feeding-sprees at crowded fairs. All those humans, lined up like juicy dumplings. Plenty of dark nooks and crannies to drag someone off, feed, stash the body. Quick get-aways as easy as pie.]
no subject
[She's starting to look like a pleased, legs crossed and her foot jiggling lazily in the air. She's going to sit here and wait for him to bring it to her like the spoiled bitch she is. Karl can absolutely blame Chase and Blonde for this behavior.]
no subject
Very well.
[A crooked smile.]
~But a word of warning. I might eat some of your ice cream on the way. I do hate to watch it melt, you know.

Never fear, Ms. Carla. Hopefully the wait won't be too long.
[He can always just swipe a few extra snacks on the way. What's the point of preternatural speed if you can't have freebies? Wanna give it a whirl, Carla? >D]
no subject
It won't be.
