Spring Festival [OPEN TO ALL!]
When; Friday, April 6 2012, afternoon into night
Rating; Various! Warn if you need to on individual threads.
Characters; EVERYONE EVER!
Summary; Spring festival
Log;
Xanadu is buzzing this afternoon with with food stands and booths with games to play and trinkets to sell or win. There are a couple of stages where people play instruments, sing, juggle, and otherwise entertain.
People donated money, time and materials to bring everything together. Some areas are very polished and professional while others have more of a homemade touch, but it blends together nicely and there is a little something for everyone. A little further from the main attractions there is space for relaxing or playing a game of frisbee or catch.
As the evening settles upon the City, paper lanterns light up an outdoor dance floor and a band plays a range of music from romantic to spirited. There are also tables set up for those who would prefer to star or people gaze.
(OOC: As mentioned here please feel free to have your character/business set up a booth or stand or to be performing under the appropriate headings! They can be doing if for money, free, or charity. General Mingle | Booths: Games/Merchandise | Food Stands | Entertainment/Street Performers | Dance)

He takes this decision seriously. If you really want to know, some of the barrels are, in fact, curved--but not by much. More like they're just badly made toys. So it's rigged, but maybe not purposefully.
But, still, after due consideration, he chooses one...and set himself up...
If he can shoot down a noose from more than a short distance, this shouldn't be too difficult.
But that's no reason to take it too lightly. After all, his reputation is on the line here...]

There's a bit of a shift to his side as she shifts closer to get a better look. If he's going to do it, she wants to see the targets go down. ]

The bell rings--
--and no sooner has it but those painted cut-outs of ducks and deer and dragons and men in black hats with drooping mustaches start popping out of nowhere...and falling back down again.
Maybe it's not fair to let him play this game. But he hasn't had a chance to show off for a while. Feels pretty good.]
no subject
Oh yes, this was a good idea. ]
no subject
He'd twirl the gun, but it's not really the best for twirling. He'll just stand it like a staff on the edge of the booth and give a look to the man who's running the thing.]
no subject
[ She'd applaud, but it's a little dramatic. ]
What prize are you going to get?
no subject
[He means the guy running the booth.]
Unless you had your eye on something.
[He'll let you keep the giant cuddly cow...or whatever that thing is.]
no subject
[ Sorry, guy running the booth. ]
Well, we can't let a prize go to waste, can we?
[ And okay, the fact that he'd let her keep it is flattering. ]
no subject
[So. Whatcha gettin'?]
no subject
... That one. The obnoxiously orange spotted cow thing. ]
no subject
Well. He did win it for her. Not in so many words, but someone'd better keep the prize. So.
He gives the man in the booth a good, serious look and nods towards the orange spotted cow...thing.]
That one.
no subject
Excuse her quiet glee while the man gets it down. ]
no subject
...actually, the glee is kind of endearing.]
He's all yours.
no subject
[ And she definitely means it. He didn't have to let her keep it, after all. The obnoxiously colored cow is given a squeeze before she sets it on top of her messenger bag, using the bag and her thigh to keep it in place. ]
no subject
Anyway--he gives a sort of tug to the brim of his hat in salute to her. That's as much of a "you're welcome" as you're likely to get.]
