Xanadu is buzzing this afternoon with with food stands and booths with games to play and trinkets to sell or win. There are a couple of stages where people play instruments, sing, juggle, and otherwise entertain.

People donated money, time and materials to bring everything together. Some areas are very polished and professional while others have more of a homemade touch, but it blends together nicely and there is a little something for everyone. A little further from the main attractions there is space for relaxing or playing a game of frisbee or catch.

As the evening settles upon the City, paper lanterns light up an outdoor dance floor and a band plays a range of music from romantic to spirited. There are also tables set up for those who would prefer to star or people gaze.

[ Ordering, strawberry and yoghurt. He'll have to share, because it's large scoops. ]

[Luckily, the coins are color-coded. Jast can totally handle this, though he ducks his head down between his shoulders nervously along the way, almost forgets his change in his haste to move along and find somewhere quiet to sit.

It doesn't even occur to him to think about this sharing business, it's all for her in his mind.]

[ She follows him to the quiet spot, a little less hasty and already taking the first spoonful of ice cream. Archive or not, she's eleven years old. Ice cream is bliss. ]

Have some. [ Look, she even grabbed a second plastic spoon for you. ]

[As he sits, he gives himself a little shake, like a ruffled bird reorganizing its feathers. The way he goes still afterwards and looks at her with wide eyes is likewise a bit comical.]

Oh.

[Just a little pink flush across his face. Some of his friends have delighted in making him blush, will keep score of it during a conversation. Fallen was always the worst, a fire golem with a flirtatious smile.

Jast accepts the spoon graciously.]

This is the flavor you like?

[Just for future reference. He takes a little spoonful and puts it in his mouth obediently. Well. Mostly obediently. It's also delicious.]

One of them. There are many I like. [ but she also very strongly believes in moderation, especially for children as herself. ]

[He grins around the spoon in his mouth.]

How many?

I like almost all.

[auguria]

Maybe one of each, next time.

[She may believe in moderation, but he believes in spoiling everyone rotten.]

That would be far too many still.

[ Maybe they should spread it out. Have ice cream more often. ]

[auguria]

[He gives a fluttery little laugh, taking one more taste of the ice cream before he's laid himself out in the sun with a thoughtful expression.]

Spring has not yet ended and there are many days of Summer yet to come. We will see the deed done.

[ Thinking on it for a moment, spoon after spoon of ice cream disappearing. ]

We may.

[ It's permission for herself more than anything to spend more time with him— emotional attachment to him is, perhaps, less dangerous than to others. ]

[auguria]

[He smiles, happy to be accepted in his offer. For her, he begins to whistle a little tune, something warm and airy that sounds like dandelion fluff on the wind. It's a quiet little ditty, only for her ears.]

[ Once all the ice cream's eaten, she settles, eyes closed and just listening. It's nice, a change from remembering. Relaxing.

If he were to look, he might find her smiling. ]
