Xanadu is buzzing this afternoon with with food stands and booths with games to play and trinkets to sell or win. There are a couple of stages where people play instruments, sing, juggle, and otherwise entertain.

People donated money, time and materials to bring everything together. Some areas are very polished and professional while others have more of a homemade touch, but it blends together nicely and there is a little something for everyone. A little further from the main attractions there is space for relaxing or playing a game of frisbee or catch.

As the evening settles upon the City, paper lanterns light up an outdoor dance floor and a band plays a range of music from romantic to spirited. There are also tables set up for those who would prefer to star or people gaze.

The band will play until 11pm, but I don't think we'll force anyone home.

You know I'm glad you stopped by. There used to be a girl in the City named Sakura. She had ninja healing powers. [Yes, ninja healing powers. You learned about those in Starfleet, right?] She worked with me to open up a small, modest clinic space in the welcome center, but she's gone now. We still have the area devoted to it, but no experience beyond offering bandaids really. I wasn't sure if I should take it all down or if there might be an opportunity there.

I'd think there could be an opportunity there. People come in injured sometimes, or are injured right on arrival -- I smashed my head into the fountain this last time. You might be able to arrange something with the hospital for supplies and volunteers.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that about your head, but yes, that was exactly why I thought it might be a good idea originally when Sakura asked. After all the welcome center is very close to the fountain. It wouldn't be good for extended care or anything extremely serious, but it might be a good place to get someone in a position to travel to a hospital.
