Mindy'd heard buzz over the network from ~~npc~~ City Residents. It didn't please her at all. People were trying to eat others and it was all happening in the woods. While Mindy was, at first glance, just a kid she liked to think her father trained her for situations like this. Cannibals were no big deal to her.

Not that she'd ever faced them. Ever but if she can take on several grown men in an overpriced hotel without flinching, what were a group of cursed assholes? And she didn't consider herself unarmed even though all appearances would suggest she was. She had her hands and her feet and her creativity and resourcefulness.

She had, at one point, found a large branch and was busy walking through the forest, using it to set off beartraps so no one else got hurt.

Snap. And a piece of the branch goes. A metallic whinecrunchsnap and more branch is gone. When it got to a point where it was too short for her to safely disarm traps, Mindy started her search for another one.

[ Howard's not a natural hunter, but he is good at the strategic side of an attack, and with the drive for the taste of flesh, to dig his teeth into something warm and fresh, it drives him on, keeps him searching. He can smell her as he gains on her, closing the distance, and the snap informs him of exactly where she is.

He follows his every sense, aware of everything around him, and finally catches sight of her. He's got a little drool around his mouth, eyes blown wide with longing, because he craves it, and then he's approaching from behind, but he's far from quiet, the floor of the woods crunching beneath his feet. ]

[Mindy's fully aware there are people in the woods so she's keeping all senses on alert. Not that any of them are heightened. No. She's your average, every day kid for the most part. She was just taught to keep her eye on everything. Mindy hears Howard and turns in his direction. She's still holding onto the stick she'd been using. It's half her height by now, but still useful.]

These traps yours? [She points at one with her stick, eyes on Howard at all times.] Cuz I gotta say, you did a real shitty job of hiding them.

[She almost wants to hope she's lucky, hope that this guy isn't out to try to eat her but with the look in his eyes? She's guessing not. Shifting one foot slightly and twirling the stick to rest behind her back, she gives him a look that's just daring him to try anything.]
