Log; Ongoing
When; September 19 (what might have been day)
Rating; PG?
Characters; Rangiku, Sands and possibly Veronica (later if she wants ^^)
Summary; Sands keeps finding Rangiku in the oddest places and circumstances.
Log;
Rangiku’s barely visible under the foliage of a large flowering bush. All that can seen of her is a pair of ice blue eyes peering out from behind the large, dark green leaves. She’s spent her day hiding out in the garden, moving from one spot to another to keep from being found. Unlike normal, she's thin; too thin, and has the look of a woman used one time too many. Her eyes are dull, her hair hanging in lank strands around her dirty face.
Every noise makes her tense up, ready to move away, but she told him she’d be here. She's sure he'll look. If he can find her, she's willing to do as he asks, no matter what it might be.

It takes him three hours to find her. For some reason he can't remember what the city looks like. Just what direction things are as if he's never been here but studied a map. Sheldon shakes it off thinking it's the curse. And fuck it anyway- he has places to be.
The agent nearly steps on her before he sees those huge blue eyes. And the strange thing is is stops him cold. For a moment he's staring open mouthed before getting his bearings again.

Steeling her resolve as she crouches back, her eyes narrow and stare up at him.
"Don't step on me, bastard." Her words are full of bluster and heat, but inside, she's cringing.

His white trash smirk hides weather or not he's being sarcastic. It would be cute if it wasn't so horrible. The strong and amazing woman he knows is like a tiny flicker that's fading away.
He reaches into a white pillowcase in his hand and comes out with a handful of grapes.
"Are you going to come get it or should I go in there?"
no subject
Thin fingers reach for the grapes, but she grumbles since he's just out of reach. With a soft sigh, she rises to her feet and wobbles for a moment before looking at him. Carefully, a shadow of her old self, she fastidiously slides her hands over the dirty robes she's wearing, as if brushing away some dust.
Her gaze drops from his eyes down to the fruit he's holding. Lips set in an even line, she holds her hand out, palm up.
"I told you if you could find me, you could have your hour. A deal's a deal."
no subject
He gives her the grapes and slowly sits down in front of her, never taking his eyes off the woman (now because he expects to be mugged for the rest of it). As thin and sad as she looks he's not underestimating Rangiku.
The pillow case is held in his lap as he looks up at her- trying to seem as harmless as possible. He's practiced at this more then anything. But knows the role he's playing to get near her isn't winning her trust right away.
"You said you were being watched. Would you like to go somewhere safer?"
no subject
After a span of seconds, she remembers she's not alone and snaps her eyes back to her companion. The gaze is assessing and wary, but down deep, she feels a sense of trust and acceptance for the man.
"We can... I don't think they're here, but I'm tired of the flowers anyway."
no subject
This is so much better and, let's face it, easier on them both then her waking up tied to his stove would have been.
But Sands wasn't going to leave without bring her with him either way. He brings out a peach this time.
"My car is over here. Finish those on the way and you can start on this." He starts to walk away, still watching her to make sure she followed.
no subject
For nothing at all.
"There's no cars here," she murmurs, not moving.
"You're lying to me." Instead of moving towards Sands, her feet take a step back.
no subject
"Okay. I'm lying." He tosses the peach to her, mentally kicking himself for his mistake. Now it nags at his brain while he tried to recover. Sands keeps walking away as he pulls out a banana, hoping she's too hungry to not follow.
"It's all part of the fantasy, girl. Work with me."
no subject
White teeth sink into the peach as she turns to go back into hiding; deal be damned. She might be starving, but she's just as afraid.
no subject
Reaching out fast as drawing his gun, he grabs her by he hair and clamps his hand over her mouth.
"Don't you choke on that."
He holds her tightly against him, kicking her legs apart to unbalance her. Before she can readjust he's got her arms behind her and Ran down on her knees.
"If I wanted to hurt you I could do it right here. No ones watching. No one would care anyway."
He takes out a pair of handcuffs, willing to try that first.
"I'll prove it."
Suddenly Sands starts yelling across the garden as if death was hot on his heels.
"Somebody help! Help us!!"
People mill about in the very distant, for the most part they're alone and no one comes to rescue Ran from her fool protector.
"Everything is confused. My assistant keeps staring at me and you can't remember me at all. I'm having kind of a weird day. I promised you food and a safe place to eat it... you're not going to just follow me there now are you?"
He has no one to blame but himself for this.
no subject
Her arms struggle to free themselves, making her groan softly as her shoulders start to ache. Slowly, she sags back against him, dull eyes closing.
no subject
His arms wrap around her front, hugging her to him.
"We've got a short walk. You can be asleep for it, or handcuffed, or you can be a good girl and eat on your way there."
no subject
"Whatever you want, just please let me go."
As soon as he releases her, she turns to face him, staring. For some odd reason, her eyes find his and can't seem to waver from them.
"Where are you taking me?"
no subject
"Home. It's warm. The girl is waiting for you. I've got hot food there-" He quickly glances at the garden with an eyebrow raised.
"And no fucking flowers."
He holds his hand out to her looking exactly like he did in the beginning of your push and pull courtship. Except for his eyes looking right into hers.
"Let me take care of you. I'm a fuck up but I'm doing the best I can."
no subject
The thought of food helps, too.
"The girl... the one that was talking to me on the box, right? She's there, too?"
no subject
"She's there waiting for you. She gave me this to give to you."
Keeping a hold of her hand he crouches down to rifle through the pillow case coming out with a very large bag of m&m's. He pushes it toward her, letting go of her hand so she can eat, only to lay it on her lower back to steer her the way he wants her to go.
"By tomorrow you wont be hungry anymore. Promise."
no subject
"I remember seeing someone like you, but he was different."
no subject
"There are a couple hanging around. Just bad copies of the real thing. Nothing to worry your pretty little head over. You can tell I'm real because I don't have the stupid accent. My name is Sands."
Sands leads her around a corner, anxious to get her inside before she can finish off the candy.
"Almost there now."
no subject
"Sands... I've heard that somewhere," she murmurs as she digs into the bag again.
no subject
"It's a common last name, sugar butt."
Coming to the building they share he holds the door open for her with a smile. Sands isn't taking his attention off her long enough for her to make a break for it.
no subject
Her body moves to turn, only to find him in her path.
no subject
When she's obviously planning to run for it he smiles holding a lollipop.
"Now now. You don't wanna do that. It's not safe out there and you'll hurt my feelings if you leave now."
He takes her hand again and leads her up the stairs.
no subject
As she moves to sit on the couch, El jumps up and settles on her lap with a loud purr. Her hand strokes soft fur as she looks up at Sands.
"Happy now? I'm here."
Back Home
He sets the pillow case still full of fruit and bread beside her.
"I'm on the verge of doing the Snoppy dance. Veronica!"
Sands stays between Ran and the door until his assistant comes in.
