[Andy has been stressing about this date thing since the moment he asked Lucy out. How do you talk to girls? What do girls like? It's not like he can drag his video games along and show her his high scores or something. The last time he tried that with a girl, she left before the date even started.

He has actually gone out and bought a suit, though; the tie gives him some trouble, but he figures it out in the end (and vows to do the whole clip on thing next time) and looks quite dapper when he shows up to knock at Lucy's door that evening.

Though cliche, he's also carrying a bouquet of roses. Not as cool as a high score in his opinion, but nice all the same.]

[Lucy, on the other hand, has been excited about the date. Andy is a lot of fun and he's cute. When he shows up at her flat, she's dressed up as well. A wide smile breaks across her face when she opens the door to find him in a suit, carrying roses. She leans up on her tiptoes, presses a red lipsticked kiss to his cheek and then goes back down on her heels with a click.]

You look fantastic and you brought roses. Excellent date so far. Come on in. I'll get a vase for the flowers.

[She steps aside to let him come in. It's an eclectic flat to say the least: two stories with a curved stairway and a fireman's pole from the top floor to the bottom. There's a giant ginger cat lounging on the back of the couch and a black and white Newfoundland watching from the kitchen.]

Don't worry. The dog is scared of you and the cat doesn't care.

[Andy has to keep himself from ogling shamelessly and the kiss practically blows his mind (he will never wash that side of his face again.) This is the closest he's been to a girl since middle school and his stomach flutters nervously.

And now he's in a girl's house. Holy shit.

He looks around with interest, smiling at the animals. He's going to try to make friends with the cat, calling to Lucy happily.]

Your place looks great! Did you decorate it yourself?

[Masha is a freakish (brain washed--thanks Master) cat. Once she sees that Andy wants to make friends, she rises from her position on the back of the couch and rubs her side against him, purring the moment he touches her.

If she ever figured out how flustered Andy gets over her, she would melt a little.]

Mostly? It belonged to a boyfriend who left the City over a year ago. He willed me the flat. I've done a lot of redecorating since he left.

[She says this from the kitchen as she gets a vase out from one cabinet, fills it with water and puts the roses in, arranging them carefully then walks across the room to rest a hand on his arm. With her other hand, she reaches out and runs a hand over Masha's back.]

Ready to go. Also, she doesn't like everyone so bully for you.

Well, you have really good taste!

[Probably better than that other guy. Andy is quietly thankful that he isn't around anymore, feels bad about it immediately afterwards, then shrugs it off.

When she comes back, he smiles brightly. There's a short pause before he hooks his arm with hers and leans down to kiss the top of her head.

That took all of his courage right there, yup.]

S-she seems to like me just fine. Er, ready to go?

Thanks. [All the smiles. The Master's taste was a lot more about lots of white and red and a bit of black. Lucy thinks she has better taste too, so he's in good company.

The kiss to the top of her head is sweet. It makes her smile and she approves heartily of things that make her smile. It was an excellent use of his courage.]

Yup! For the rest of the night, I'm all yours.

[All his... His face is going to be a nice shade of pink for the rest of the night and he shuffles awkwardly as they head out the door.]

So the place isn't all that far away and I hope you like it. It looked pretty good, anyway.

[ at least it's a good color on him. she locks the door once it's shut, tucks the key in her bag and loops her arm through his again. ]

I'm sure I will and if I don't, we can poke fun at it and have a good time anyway.

I like this plan! This is why I like you -- best plans ever.

[He mentally face-palms. What is he even talking about?

Still, man, try to be smooth.

Which is why, as they walk, he reaches to tuck a stray hand of her hair behind an ear with a shaking hand. He's putting on all the bold moves tonight.]

I am pretty amazing when it comes to plans.

[Really she just flies by the seat of her pants and tries to have fun along the way. His gesture makes her smile though. The moves are good.]
