When; Tuesday, October 30th
Rating; PG
Characters; Merlin and Charlie
Summary; It's date night. They get pumpkins and a puppy whom Merlin decides to give a 'meaningful' name to.
Log;
Monday after the Circus, Charlie didn't feel much like leaving her and Merlin's room in the mansion. She wasn't entirely certain the Circus really was gone but this can be chalked up to a huge mistrust of the Deities. They didn't seem to have the best control of the place, in her opinion.
But Tuesday, she was feeling alright enough to leave the house and the two of them decided they needed out. Just the two of them. Not for anything. It was just a reason to spend time with each other. Plus, Charlie had it in her head that they were going to carve pumpkins for Halloween.
Some time later, Charlie was walking down one of the City streets, her fingers laced through Merlins. Right now, it was just wandering. Eventually they'd make it to the grocery store but she was having fun taking her time.

Well, he liked just being with Charlie and there didn't need to be anything else. This was natural, relaxed, and just the way he liked it, really.
Plus, why not make "special" a regular thing anyway? Even if that was contradictory.
"It's close now, isn't it?"
The wedding. It tended to slip his mind a lot, but then sometimes it barrelled into his headspace with full force.

Not that she wasn't trying. She was just, by nature, a quiet person. And she was temporarily raised by an elderly couple who showed their love in quiet ways. Notes left where the other would find it and making sure to make their favorites for breakfast or dinner sometimes. Or just quiet evenings spent reading or watching a movie on the couch. Charlie only recently started doing the notes, leaving them on mirror's she knew Merlin would pass. Books he'd read. But only on days where she would be at work or on days where he looked upset or stressed.
"It is. A little over a week left, I think," Charlie replied, smiling a bit nervously. "Are you excited?"
This isn't really this late at all
But, nervousness and other sorts of stress aside... "Yeah," he said with a nod. "Yeah, I am."
However risky it was, being in the City and not knowing how long you would get to stay, it just seemed like... well, a given that they might as well seal it like that. And the idea of it was... nice. It was getting nicer and nicer by the day.
nope not at all! slowtime is love, anyway.
"Me, too." She's of the opinion that, regardless of where they are, it's worth it. "And the beach house is ours for the week. Away from any populated areas. We can be as ridiculous as possible with no complaints from anyone."
Not that people did much complaining. Arthur probably gave them odd looks for their behavior. Charlie didn't notice.
Good~
Because it didn't matter at all to them, as far as he knew, nope. And Arthur would give any couple looks for their behaviour because he didn't understand things like feelings and affection.
Re: Good~
Passing houses and storefronts, Charlie looked at a few carved pumpkins in the window. To Merlin, she asks with a smirk;
"How hard would it be to convince Arthur to carve a pumpkin with us? He said he wanted one with his family crest, but he's going to have to do it himself."
Because really, Arthur. That's no fun for anyone except him.

Well, that sounded very complicated. He could probably do it with magic, but that wouldn't be the same at all.
"Not that hard."

"We'll figure it out. I'm sure he has a picture of it somewhere." Charlie's still studying pumpkins, noting the designs and finding some amusement in some of them. The pumpkins were giving way to store-front decorations and those were less interesting, if Charlie were going to be honest.
"They make these guides you can buy that show how to cut out different patterns." Charlie smiles at Merlin, glancing at a couple more storefronts. They were nearing the grocery. "We can get one of those. And stuff to snack on while we're working."
