Summary; Rita and Tyr losing their heads. One of these is literal.

Once the influence of the Halloween curse ended and they were both back to normal, Rita...well, she felt pretty awkward. She'd had no idea the costume she'd worn was some vampire from Tyr's world, and there she'd gone and bitten his neck. Thinking about the fact that she actually drank his blood--it grossed her out. But at least she hadn't hurt him.

But it was exactly that which also struck her as a little weird. Tyr didn't usually like having his neck touched all that much, so it could've been the influence of the curse...

In any case, here it is in the morning, and Rita's still in costume at the house because she hasn't been bothered to change. She should probably apologize to Tyr if he's awake and see how he is.

She sits against the side of the tub and leans back a little for him. "Good enough?" He's so sweet... It's weird to think that he was so angry yesterday when she tried to convince him his memories were wrong, but she knows all of those people were so important to him...

It makes her feel bad for him. And worry about him. But they'll go to the hospital tomorrow and see if they can find out anything.

"Yeah," he answers. Once she's leaning back, he starts to work the shampoo into her hair, massaging her scalp. Right now, he's not considering his memories, but he feels bad for yelling at her and running away... She deserves better than that. Even if he was...sad, she shouldn't have taken the blame for that...

But he's making up for it now, he hopes. "How's it feel?"

It just bothers her that something's happened to him and they don't really know exactly what it is yet. She can't help but think it's something serious, what with the memories that have been changed...

But she tries to forget about it for the moment, mumbling, "It feels pretty nice..." And it does. It feels really soothing, and she relaxes in the tub a bit more.

That's all he really wanted to hear. He smiles again and pulls all her hair back into the lather, still scratching and massaging her scalp.

"When we get back, we should do this in our own bath more..."

Where the water will be nice and clear... She's the only thing on his mind. He has her, and right now, it almost feels like that's all he does have...and it doesn't feel so bad when he thinks about how lucky he is just to have someone like her.

Feeling a bit better, she closes her eyes again as she just lets herself concentrate on Tyr's hands and voice. The idea does sound good...once they get Tyr checked out, she thinks.

"Yeah...so we can get all pruney there, instead."

"Exactly," he chuckles. He loves that she can be so relaxed... It's just like old times.

It really does sound like a really good idea to him... And when they get back, Rita will be herself again and they can forget about his memories. He'll just let her know that he doesn't reject them anymore.

They can go back to normal eventually... But she needs to know what's happened to Tyr before she'll totally relax, first. And...what happened to her, too. There's no forgetting the fact that she still has no idea how she died.

Her voice is quiet again when she asks a few moments later, "Almost finished?"

He can't bring himself to describe it to her, but he'd suck it up if she asked how she died...or at least how he found her. He doesn't remember her murder (was he unconscious or did he erase that?).

At her question, he immediately pulls his hands away. Maybe she doesn't want to be pampered now...

"Yeah, I'm done... Let me turn on the shower for you..."

He straightens out and reaches over for the handles.

She isn't sure she wants to ask just yet. Maybe later, if it seems like it's important enough to know. That in mind, she straightens up and moves to pull the plug, wondering if maybe she pushed him to finish early. It did feel nice, but he should clean up too...

"Thanks... Then it'll be your turn."

"You really want to help me clean up?" he asks a little hopefully. He'd rather have her want that then just want him to stop playing with her hair.

Suds get all over then handles as he turns on the water where it sprays away from her, and the water washes away the stains from the dirty water.

"You need to ask?" she shoots right back. She thinks he could use it just as much as she did--not just getting clean, but relaxing, too.

She steps under the warm spray, standing still for a second, then reaching up to scrub the shampoo from her hair.

"No," he answers immediately, almost like he wants to show her that no, he's not really that calm at all. With that, he just looks away towards the floor as she finishes washing her hair. She can handle cleaning her hair on her own.

While she doesn't take that much away from his response, she thinks he wants her to help him, anyway. He probably needs it...

It doesn't take long to wash everything out of her short hair, which she smoothes back after shutting off the water. She feels refreshed in a way, at least, even if her heart still isn't beating.

"All right--you're up."

And aside from the pallor of her skin, she looks just like herself... He feels a strange mix of emotions when he looks up at her, but he puts them aside as he picks himself up to turn on the bath water again.

"Right- thanks..." He trails off and falls silent for a moment before asking, "What do you want to do after this?"

He definitely needs it. She switches places with him, standing on the bath mat and reaching for a towel--even though it doesn't really matter that she gets dried off quickly; she's going to get cold, anyways--and blinks as she considers his question.

"...We need to get someone to come and clean up, right? And maybe we should talk to the police..."

Tyr doesn't want to talk to or see anyone else, especially when it comes to what happened, but they do need to get to the core of this. If this wasn't just a curse and someone did attack them, they need all the help they can get to stop them.

Once the bath starts to fill up, he just sits down with his back to her and lets it all wash over him. There's not nearly as much blood on him, but it still washes off of him and dyes the water as easily as it did with her.

"Right..." he mumbles. "We really should do that first before we start anything else... Hopefully the police will know how to deal with this, too."

Finding out if anybody else was attacked the same way is a good start. Rita doesn't particularly like either outcome, though--that a curse neither of them saw randomly killed her, or that an attacker neither of them could stop did it and is still out there.

"We'll find out when we see them," she responds softly as she looks at the water, then kneels down next to the tub and reaches up to run her fingers through his hair. It's not matted with blood like hers was, but it still has to be wet for her to clean it, so... "Here, dunk your head for a second."

"Yeah... Let's not think about it until then," he mumbles, and a second later goes ahead and dips his head in the water and, like she said, pulls it back a second later. His bandana usually goes a good job of keeping dirt and blood out of his hair... It's the same tough texture she knows.

He doesn't want to think about what they're going to find out later, though. The best outcome is that someone else stopped the murderer even if they couldn't. Tyr hopes that's the case; there's nothing mysterious it.

She just nods in response even though he isn't looking at her, and smoothes his hair back out of his face. Doing something like this is a good distraction to try not to think about it... They don't wash each other's hair like this all that often. He's right; they should do it more.

Gathering a small bit of shampoo in her palm, she massages it into his hair now. He's so warm...

Meanwhile, he shivers slightly when she touches his face. The fact she's so cold makes him want to hold her. In his head, that's still how it works: When she's cold, he'll warm her up. Because she doesn't always admit to when she's actually cold...

When they get home, he knows what to really give her to make her warm again. Part of him wants to rush back just for that...

She doesn't want to take away all his body heat, even if she doesn't like this feeling of being dead and frigid. Maybe she shouldn't spend too much time washing his hair, after all... It ends up getting a quick scrub, and then she pulls her hands away. "There... That should do it."

He blinks when she pulls away and thinks about protesting, but there'd be point in that. Instead, just just nods and goes ahead and dunks his head again, rinsing all the suds in the same water. He reasons that she wasn't really the type to take long baths before, so maybe she didn't think of doing anything but a quick job. That's it, he thinks, as he combs his bangs back over his head again.

"Yeah, that'll be fine... My hair doesn't really get that dirty..." he agrees, trailing off. Now they should...do what Rita said, but he really just wants to stay in the bath.

But he won't. He turns around in the tub to face her again. "Besides, we have more important things to do."

"Yeah," she agrees, face solemn again. "We can't stay in here forever." Even if either of them wanted to. There's a mess outside the door, and they can't hide from it.

Still, it's sad to realize that she didn't give him much of a chance to relax. She doesn't really think he'll relax when her hands are so cold, though, so...this was probably the best thing to do.

She hit the nail on the head either way. He really would stay in here if he had the option to do so... And in a way, he does, but he won't accept it. Rita's hands, her whole body temperature, doesn't bother him as much as everything else about the past two days does.

Standing up, he grabs a towel to dry himself off, all his actions very automatic. If nothing else, he hasn't forgotten how to push things aside. "Right... We need to take care of this entire mess first..." And find a way to protect Rita from another attack whether the police help them or they have to do it on their own. That's the first priority.

There isn't exactly a happy way to go about this, so as long as Tyr can handle it, they should get it over with. She finishes towelling herself dry, then tugs on the clothes Tyr brought. She doesn't even care if they're plain, since she doesn't feel like being flashy right now.

"Do you have your device with you?" she asks. Hers isn't in here, so if he doesn't have his either, they'll have to head back out.
