OPEN FOR MINGLING
When; Saturday and Sunday, November 3-4
Rating; Individual threads may vary!
Characters; Everyone is welcome! This is an open log for Polyites and 4th Wallers alike, so just specify if it's an open thread or if you have 4th walling rules in the comment or subject line!
Summary; Whether you're a regular or a first-timer, here to stay or just passing through, the Blue Light is the place to be for good music, good food, and a sea of friendly faces to encounter. SO GET IN HERE AND MINGLE.
Log;
As she's now grown accustomed to doing on days when the visitors come, Rosella is manning the Blue Light with as many of her staff on duty as can spare the time to be around, making sure that residents of the City and visitors alike have a warm and cheerful place to stop in, sit down, have a chat, and enjoy the opportunity to spend time together.
The music is merry and there's the chatter of conversation in the air as the booths and tables fill with people; nearby, a space on the floor has been cleared for dancing, should any guests find themselves with the urge to cut loose.
It's looking like it's going to be a busy few days. But really, that's quite all right with her.

It's been a long day of following leads. Now she's sitting in the couch in the back, cutting into a giant pie baked in a cake.]
Open;
Luckily, his powers of deduction not being completely inept, he also happened to recall that the Blue Light was owned and run by Lucy's older brother, which presented something of a conundrum in that there was always the possibility he might attempt to murder Finnick in the event that he were to become conscious of the fact that he were looking for Lucy, but which would also have the benefit of probably pointing him in the right direction of her before he was subsequently murdered.
And he was probably faster than her brother because, y'know, godlike physique. So he wasn't precisely worried.
Upon arriving at the Light, though, he discovers two fortuitous things--one is that the brother is nowhere to be found, and the other is that apparently Lucy is.
...and she has cakepie.
Make that three fortuitous things.]
You look like you're waiting for someone incredibly attractive.
Open;
But she doesn't get up and jump into his arms, like she wants to. Instead she primly cuts a piece of cakepie and puts it in her mouth, chews and looks]
I could also be enjoying this delightful cake.
Open;
[Equally primly, he relieves her of her fork and commandeers a piece of cakepie for himself, because you might as well seize the sweet things while you have them, since there's no telling when they might disappear.
Which is an apt metaphor, really.]
I hear you were out on my sailboat this morning.
Open;
I woke up in my sailboat. I believe you left it to me when you abandoned me here.
Open;
[He slides in, and in the same motion leans over to kiss her.]
Open;
Oh.
Open;
The best I warrant is an "oh"? I can do better than that.
[And so the kiss is reprised, this time with an arm around the shoulders and a thumb stroking her cheek.]
Open;
You are being cruel, sir.
[But she's smiling, really.]
Open;
[And there it is--the smile he could never give her back when they were both trapped here, the one so bright and easy and real.]
Were you avoiding me on purpose?

[Billy shrugs and orders a coke. The bartender slips some rum in there.]
So did you see Euphie?

Not yet.
[He was kinda hoping she'd be here.]

I think I saw her talking to Justin.

Open;
Henry has a few beers in front of them, all courtesy of various women who squealed and called him "Ryan." Whatever. Maybe the beer will attract someone interesting. Maybe Life or Rose is hanging out around here.]

That is always her first thought when the world changes in the blink of an eye, the lonely, lovely rooms of Crystalglass melting into this oddly familiar alien landscape. But she knows; she remembers, and the memory guides her as surely as the Ravenna's whispers to the tavern. If Irrylath has come, he will find her there; and if he has not, at the least she will not be alone.

But he knows she will be there when he opens the door, his breath catching. "Aeriel," he says, because he thought her lost forever. He has never been pleased but so sad to see her, not when he is in Avaric and she in Crystalglass.

It is like daybreak when Irrylath enters, and she smiles up at him. "I knew you would find me, husband."

This City is strange, a day only lasting a few hours and not a month as he is accustomed to, and would he wish for a day-month here, an entire span of hours to spend with his wife, a long night to keep her warm. "I would find you even if you were across the sea, as I have before, and I will again."
no subject
"I have no doubt."
At least, she does not doubt he will try. She knows, if she is going to be honest, that she cannot go with him; that she will be in Crystalglass long after the memory of Irrylath the King of Avaric is forgotten. But he will come.
"But having found me here, let us forget about what must come."
