Characters; Korra and her friends and anyone who happens to be in the club. Come one, come all!
Summary; Korra decides to celebrate 6 months in the City by dancing.
Log;She'd been woken up that morning by a incessant beeping noise; it took her a full three minutes to figure out it was her device and how to turn it off (she almost breaks it in her frustration, but she doubts she'd get any sympathy from Chekov if she broke yet another piece of electronic equipment).

What was so important that her device felt compelled to disturb her slumber?

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR SIX MONTH ANNIVERSARY!

Who sent it? How did they know? Korra doesn't bother wondering. Six months… At first the thought horrifies her…but it hasn't been all bad. She fingers the necklace that Chekov had given her.

She can either spend the day distracted and wallowing, or she can remind herself of the good things she has here.

She decides to go dancing.

It's clear no one ever taught her how to get dressed for clubbing; she's just wearing her "I Mustache You A Question" t-shirt and Chekov's necklace, a strange combination of casual and fancy. Somehow she makes it work. And it's a bit early in the night for the club to really be rocking, but that doesn't slow Korra down any. She's in the middle of the dance floor, being taught some new moves by the club's regulars and just in general having a grand old time.

That one time was very convincing!

"Hi, Miles," she replies as quietly as possible over the loud music. "Of course I made it! I have to make sure Korra stays out of trouble at her party."

[spiderkid]

"Is she likely to get in a lot of trouble?" Miles looks over to where Korra's dancing it up on the floor. She looks carefree, which is a good thing, Miles supposes.

[bookbending]

Jinora shakes her head. "Trouble happens to Korra sometimes." She follows Mile's gaze; the Avatar really doesn't look like she's about to suffer any kind of trouble. It's a significant change from the last few weeks.

"She said you'd be here, too," Jinora adds. "That was another reason to come."

[spiderkid]

"Yeah, well," Miles blushes slightly. "It's a slow night, and too cold to patrol."

[bookbending]

She manages to remain oblivious to any and all blushing, including her own.

"Slow's better than having all of those monsters around."

[spiderkid]

"Definitely," he agrees. "Those guys were a nightmare." He turns serious for a moment, "How are you doing, after seeing your dad?"

Speaking of nightmares.

"I'm okay!" It's said too quickly to be entirely true, but Jinora will be okay, given some time. "It was a lot worse for Korra."

[spiderkid]

Miles definitely lost some sleep over his uncle. All that guilt came back to haunt him.

"Oh? Who'd she see?"

It was a cruel curse, and not one that's going to be forgotten any time soon.

"I don't know. She doesn't like talking about it."

[spiderkid]

At least they can try to go out and have a good time.

"Oh." Miles understands that. He probably wouldn't have told many people about seeing his uncle if it hadn't been broadcast to the network.

"So, are you gonna dance at all?"

Miles seems like the kind of person who would rather not talk about things, too. That's all that prevents Jinora from asking about how he's doing after what happened.

"I don't really dance."

[spiderkid]

He'll talk about things with the right person. Jinora could be that person, someday, but not yet.

"Not even a little? It's fun."

[bookbending]

"Tohru says that, too," she replies uncertainly. "We don't dance at home. I don't know what to do."

[spiderkid]

"What about any Tai Chi type stuff?" he asks. "That's sort of like dancing, just... slower." He starts miming some slow martial arts poses in a terrible attempt at Tai Chi.

[bookbending]

"I don't know about tai chi, but that looks a little like bending." Jinora responds with a few movements of her own--definitely soft martial arts, and very practiced and graceful.

[spiderkid]

Miles nods. "A little faster, and to the music, and that could be dancing." He tries to copy her movements, failing a bit less this time.

[bookbending]

She gives it another go, a little faster this time. The girl doesn't have much in the way of rhythm when it comes to matching the music, which she notices. "Maybe I should follow you?"
