Rating; Sailor Moon sparkles
Characters; Participants
Summary; The confrontation of an energy-corrupting droid ([personal profile] timefor.) Spoiler: the good guys win.
Log;

There was something not quite right about that Yasmine from the start. Maybe it was her perfect skin, immaculate lips, and dead eyes. Or maybe it was just the fact that as soon as she showed up (who hired her anyway?) things started to get crazy. It doesn't really matter, even the most benign inquiries into where she came from or what she's up to will set her off.

That human face is just a facade, and she rips it off easily. What's left behind is something markedly inhuman. She has china-colored skin, strange markings all down her body, a silhouette that is harsh and geometric. And that face. Eyes too large and teeth too sharp inside a snarling mouth.

From that mouth she exhales an improbable blast of steam, scalding hot and impenetrable. The Jasmine Dragon fills with it... and she'll pick off all of you heroes one by one.

[[ooc; I am game for interacting with folks in any manner they'd like. The smoke screen will allow for one on one interaction, but group threads are also fine. Charlie McGee has dibs on the killing blow, so you can also feel free to cut out at any time!

ps sorry I was late, health proooblems!]]

Charlie's first reaction is to herd guests out of her shop, even pushing a few of them out the door when the Dark Energy affected started to protest. Her skin was red from the steam but she stayed inside, even if it did kind of hurt.

She's felt worse. Blood poisoning comes to mind.

But Charlie has a shop to regain control of and customers to defend so she stays inside, keeping her eyes peeled for that damn robot. Where was she?

"Not at all surprised it was you," Charlie says as she walks around slowly. "I'm just surprised I was slow to figure it out."

Oh, well. She'll fix that in a bit.

[ooc: charlie's open to be tagged by anyone. affected. unaffected. at one point, she might get some help from erik lehnsherr in finally getting the droid out.]

The thing cackles in reply, it's a burbling sound like a pot boiling over. Beyond the glamour of their human faces, the droids aren't terrible clever and she hisses her own name over and over again:

"Ya-ya-yassssmine."

Her attacks come from every direction, beads of boiling water flecking out from the steam, though the steam is thinning with the front door open to release it out onto the cold street.

Charlie didn't survive this long by being slow. The second she hears Yasmine speaking, she ducks behind the counter, hands over her head as the steam and boiling water almost misses her entirely. Her hands get caught up in it and she almost yells but, nope.

Not that it matters. She doesn't need her hands anyway.

Not entirely.

She stands slightly, peeking over the counter and keeping her eyes open for Yasmine and when she spots her, there's a ball of fire thrown the golems way. It's hard to be accurate in all this fog, though, so it's highly likely Charlie will miss.

The steam billows around the fireball as it flies through the thick clouds. The droid gives a furious tea-kettle scream at how closely it comes to her.

"Yasmiiiiiiiiiine."

It's the sound of her feet that gives her away next, feet misshapen into vicious pointed high-heels: click-click-click-click. She's closing in on Charlie behind the counter.

At least Charlie was close but that wasn't good enough for her. Close meant exactly jack shit when something was trying to harm her customers and herself.

Charlie slides under the employee access counter, a simple hinged surface that employee's can lift up out of the way when they need to take orders to customers.

She keeps moving used to being stealthy and silent as she ducks briefly beside a cooler stocked with bottles of water.

Yasmine's in better view from here, and those heels are practically sending up flares. So, here. Have another, slightly bigger fireball sent your way, Yasmine. Charlie only peeked out for a second before throwing it and it did sound like Yasmine was fast.

[ooc: would it be okay for erik lehnsherr to join the fight soon?]

ooc; yessssss

There's another shriek, this one lower, angrier, her arm singed. Another burst of steam comes with the exhale, but much of it continues to billow out the front door.

The droid begins to upturn tables with surprising force, enraged. It's doing a detriment to her smoke screen when she tosses one through a window. Shards of glass scatter across the floor, and several tea pots are flung wildly as well, flinging porcelain and hot water.

ooc: done.

This is getting expensive. And annoying. Charlie lets loose a hail of fireballs but it's foggy enough where she might still miss. And then she sits down and sends out a text message to one Erik Lehnsherr. She might need his help.

And then once all is said and done, Charlie will need a vacation.

For now, Charlie steps out from behind her hiding spot, staring straight at Yasmine and cringing at the damage this is all causing.

"This is coming out of your paycheck, Yasmine. Just so you know."

Upon arrival, Erik suddenly finds himself obliged to duck a tea pot, what. He makes a swift, sharp motion like he's jerking open a door with the flat of one hand, and a metal chair whips up to serve as a perfunctory (and lousy) shield.

Fun science fact! Extreme heat actually reduces the magnetism of objects, so cutting down on the steam is Erik's first order of business. He feels around with his mutation until it comes up against the thick oblong stand of metal he guesses to be a freezer door, and curls his fingers back toward himself to pull it open. Cooler air floods the room in smoky tendrils, although whether or not that will assist with visibility is anyone's guess.

"Charlie?" He peers through the steam, that call-out less a question and more like, demanding answers or people are getting clubbed by chairs.

oh hi there

[personal profile] timefor 2013-02-05 05:34 pm (UTC)(link)
She's still shrieking, this time in protest of the cold, and annoyance with yet another interloper. She has every right to be stealing this energy! Her master told her so, and if she fails she will be summarily destroyed either way, so she may as well murder the two of them.

She comes charging after Eric, fast on those dangerously spiked feet of hers. She sees his shield, and so she leaps, unnaturally agile as she twists in the air to spew boiling water down on his head.

That's not going to work for Charlie but at least she knows where Yasmine is. Exactly. So it's another focused glare and there's a ball of fire hurling right for her, meant to knock her out of the air and distract her from Erik.

"I don't think so, ugly." And another fireball or two for good measure, Charlie's goal to push Yasmine away and back. These fireballs are a bit bigger and hotter than the ones she's sent before, Charlie's intention to also damage the creature some. Weaken it somehow.
