Summary; Lucy has special valentines day plans for Chekov
Log;
Lucy isn't a big planner, at least not when it comes to sex. She's always sort of thought it was something that got done in the moment. Which is usually fine, but the moment hasn't exactly worked for her and Chekov. It seems like there's always something happening or something going on that ruined the moment. Because of that, Lucy has decided to seize the moment and make it happen. What better night for that than Valentine's Day?
Since she is planning this, she's decided that she might as well just go overboard. She's got champagne in a bucket, soft music (yes it is Disney love songs) playing. The animals are all put up and she's wearing a silk robe with lacy lingerie underneath. She doesn't see the point in pretending this isn't what it is. The apartment is also a veritable fire hazard due to all the candles she's scattered around.
She's made dinner, sort of, deciding that fruit, cheese, bread and chocolate will suffice for tonight's dinner, but even it is being served rather casually on the couch and coffee table. There's a fire in the fireplace despite the fact that it's really not cold enough for it. (She turned on the AC for this) and if they make it to the bedroom, there are rose petals all over the bed.
Definitely overboard.

Today has been a long day. Howl left the City, and it's almost as terrible as when McCoy vanished. But that isn't something to think about right now.
Pavel knocks on Lucy's door, foregoing the use of his key. If she has something planned, it only seems right to stand on some semblance of formality.
no subject
She doesn't know about Howl leaving the City, but she's glad to provide some sort of distraction and maybe the day will end better than it began. She also notices that he made an extra effort in getting ready.
"You look good. Very handsome," she tells him with a wink. "Come on in."
no subject
"And you look beautiful as always," he replies brightly, entering and closing the door behind him. Lucy might look gorgeous, but she can't be warm dressed like that. Perhaps that's why there are so many candles? "Did your heating go out?"
no subject
"Thank you." She laughs a little at his question. "Candles and a fire are romantic and no, the heating isn't out. I'm setting a mood." She winks at him and goes up on her toes to press a kiss against his cheek.
no subject
Chekov takes another look at the candles and the fireplace, mentally tallies up the ways in which having that many open flames is a very bad idea, and decides that it's not worth worrying about. It's far more important to put a hand on either side of Lucy's waist and turn that peck into a proper kiss.
no subject
"Happy Valentines to you too," she whispers when the kiss breaks, but doesn't pull away from him immediately. "Are you hungry or do you want to sit?"
no subject
He answers by dropping to the couch and pulling Lucy down with him. "First, I would like to give something to you."

Guess you'll have to pry his fingers open instead.
no subject
She begins to pry his fingers open one by one.

"That is a dilithium crystal," he says by way of clarification. "Only a small one, but none of the devices I have here from home use anything larger. It's one of the most valuable elements in the universe."
His universe, anyway. The space-future doesn't have much use for diamonds or other precious stones.
no subject
"Pavel, it's gorgeous. I--and you made it? That's...amazing and sweet. Thank you. So much."
She wraps her arms around his neck and kisses him because there aren't words for how much she appreciates the gift and the fact that he made it, that he thought she is important enough to include something from his home in the gift.
no subject
Kissing is eloquent enough. Hopefully it will do for a "you're welcome," as well, although Chekov would like to tell Lucy that she deserves far more. She's so caring and earnest and charming and funny and she seems to be completely unaware of any of that. Once she gives him an opportunity to speak, he replies with, "You are gorgeous and amazing and sweet. That is just something that you can wear."
no subject
Lucy doesn't blush much, but when she gets embarrassed or flattered she responds by doing something silly, like sticking her tongue out at Chekov. "Well the gesture is gorgeous, amazing and sweet." She ducks her head, still smiling. "Also, thank you, for the gesture, the compliments and the necklace."
She holds the necklace, dangling from it's chain out to him. "Put it on me." She'll sweep her hair up off her neck and turn her back to him so that she can clasp the necklace on her. "And then I'll get your present."
no subject
Chekov takes the necklace, puts it around Lucy's neck, and fiddles with the clasp for a moment before succeeding in locking it. "There. Beautiful." He pauses to look at her and adds, "You, not the necklace."
no subject
She lets her hair fall back once he's put the necklace on then leans forward and kisses him lightly again before wiggling out of his lap and padding over to the entertainment system. She snags a small box wrapped in crimson paper with a silver bow. Inside the box Chekov will find this. Apparently great minds think alike.
Sh hands him the box and slips back into his lap. "Open it. " She looks pretty excited about the idea of him opening the gift.
no subject
She is far too good to him. Chekov unwraps the box eagerly (while taking care not to encourage Lucy to leave) and admires the tiny likeness of space. "A very small part of the universe--thank you, Lucy," he says with a kiss. "Should I hold up my hair and ask you to put it on me?"
no subject
"It's the only constellation that I am ever able to recognize and it's a part of the universe that you can see from my home. I know you miss space, so I thought you should have some of it to take with you everywhere." She laughs at his question and sticks her tongue out at him. "I think I can do it without you having to hold your hair up." She takes the necklace from him to put it on him.
no subject
Her explanation is touching. So much so, in fact, that he neglects to stick his tongue out in response. "It's good to see familiar stars--Alnitak, Alnilam, and Mintaka. There was a famous writer from Alnitak in my world, maybe in your future."
no subject
Clearly, she likes this idea. "What'll we fight about first? Wait. No. We'll have our pretend fight tomorrow, not on Valentines Day."
She's glad he likes it. Mostly she's just trying to explain why she chose to give that to him. "So you know the names of the stars in Orion's Belt?"
She doesn't know why she's surprised by that.
no subject
Lucy did a fine job of explaining. It's part of space, and part of home; there's nothing more significant than that. "I know the names of many stars, but that's part of my job."
no subject
"Right. I always forget that. " She's quiet a moment, lips pressed together. "Are you hungry?"
no subject
But no, they can worry about a fake argument later. "Maybe," Chekov says, pulling Lucy close. "If I am, will you need to move very far?"
no subject
She bites her bottom lip and nods. "I have go all the way across the room to the kitchen."
no subject
He sighs and glances woefully at the kitchen. "That is a very long way, but if you think that it's manageable, I see little choice but to go."
no subject
Lucy giggles a bit at his woe. She leans in to press a light kiss against his mouth. "You could always come with," she whispers when the kiss breaks.
no subject
"I suppose I must." He lets go of her reluctantly. "I wouldn't want you to go and neglect to come back."
no subject
Once in the kitchen, she's already got things ready to go. Really it's just a fruit and cheese platter. She pulls out a long baguette of French bread to go with it and pours two glasses of champagne.
no subject
Chekov is impressed, but it's not difficult to impress him when food is involved. "Did this take very long?" he asks, examining the champagne with the suspicion of--well, of a Russian who has limited himself to vodka.
no subject
She shakes her head at his question. "Not really. I just cut stuff up and put it on the plate." She laughs a little at his expression. "It's champagne. The bubbles tickle and you'll like it." Or at least she hopes he will. She raises her glass in a toast, a devilish grin slipping over her face. "To great sex."

Pavel recovers some sense and helps himself to cheese and crackers. "Good. You may not be getting many answers from me if you continue rendering me speechless."
no subject
"Shame 'cause I intend on attempting to do that a lot tonight."
no subject
Swallowing hard, he says, "How?"
Okay, not his most intelligent reply, but.

At his question, she leans forward, deliberately letting one shoulder of her robe slip off to reveal bare skin. She's not quite close enough to kiss him, but close enough that her breath whispers across his skin when she speaks.
"If I told you, it would be a surprise."
no subject
He'd like to pull her closer for a kiss, but that doesn't seem to be how this game is played. Instead, he runs uncertain fingers along the exposed skin of her shoulder. Helping her out of the robe would probably be against the rules, too...
"I would still be surprised."
no subject
He's so intuitive about how the game is played though. She rolls her shoulder up a bit into his touch. Helping her out of her robe might be allowed, but that doesn't mean that the game will come to a conclusion. That just means the game will continue with her naked.
"Ah. Well in that case, I think great sex deserves some great lead up."
