the openest log to ever open! <3
When; Evening of April Fifth
Rating; probably varying by threads
Characters; EVERYONE IS WELCOME
Summary; Big ol' open log for the grand opening of Isaak's bar~ Feel free to come and socialize, even if you don't know the guy! Hooray!
Log;
Word has been spreading, in a quiet sort of way-- a tasteful poster here, an idle comment there, a few personal invitations (with varying degrees of detail) delivered by Isaak himself, and (of course) the polite request that others pass the word along. Simple, but (one hopes) effective.
The Wolf's Den is luxurious without being overly ostentatious; it's warmly lit and comfortable in spite of its newness, with comfortable leather seating and a well-stocked, under-lit bar. No detail has been overlooked-- and, perhaps, no expense spared-- from the hardwood floor to the ornately-tiled ceiling.
There's plenty of food and drink to go around, and as the evening gets underway, Isaak is contentedly mingling among his guests, socializing and keeping an eye on things in equal parts.
So, have a drink; make some new friends. Everyone is welcome, here.

"It does. I'm particularly fond of the decoration."
This is no small compliment; bars and clubs are generally too gaudy for his taste, but this one has struck a nice balance.

He casts a satisfied glance about them. "I've never been inclined to do things halfway," he says agreeably. "And, as I was fortunate enough to have supportive investors..."

And this particular investor also thinks that, as far as people in the City goes, Isaak is one of the better ones. Is he inclined to call anyone a friend? No, but perhaps Isaak is the closest thing he has to one here. If his business goes well, all the better.

"It's certainly off to a promising start."
no subject
Which is always a good thing. He knows that somewhere that can attract a large crowd is more likely to do better in the longrun than somewhere that only applies to a small niche.
"I'm sure it will keep you busy, at the very least."

It is, he suspects, a balance that will even out somewhat once the glow of newness is no longer about the place. Isaak wants to succeed, of course, but there is something to be said for setting his apart from the City's thousand other bars. And, no doubt, there is an aspect of self-indulgence to the endeavour.
He leans in, a perfectly innocent reaction to the noise of a crowded room, dropping his tone ever so slightly.
"Of course, you're welcome to drop in any time you like for a drink."

As an investor, it's his duty to come by and see how things are going, after all. He wouldn't be doing his job if he didn't turn up at the bar every so often, with or without prior notice. It's something to focus his attention on, after all, and when he gets involved in business, he gets very involved. He's sure Isaak has noticed that, given the involvement he already has with the Wolf's Den -- and its owner.

"Well, I look forward to it."
For any number of reasons, actually.

"As do I. I won't keep you much longer; I'm sure you have quite a bit of mingling to do."
After all, as the owner, Isaak has to greet just about everybody. As an investor, Andrew can afford to be much quieter.
no subject
"Of course, of course. Besides, I'm sure we'll speak again before the evening's through."

Andrew, of course, intends to be considerably less social than Isaak will tonight, but that's because, as an investor, he doesn't have the same need to be. He'll take his drink and find a quiet place to sit to observe the crowd. You can learn a lot from simple observation, and he has to admit, he enjoys watching Isaak, as well.
