Word has been spreading, in a quiet sort of way-- a tasteful poster here, an idle comment there, a few personal invitations (with varying degrees of detail) delivered by Isaak himself, and (of course) the polite request that others pass the word along. Simple, but (one hopes) effective.

The Wolf's Den is luxurious without being overly ostentatious; it's warmly lit and comfortable in spite of its newness, with comfortable leather seating and a well-stocked, under-lit bar. No detail has been overlooked-- and, perhaps, no expense spared-- from the hardwood floor to the ornately-tiled ceiling.

There's plenty of food and drink to go around, and as the evening gets underway, Isaak is contentedly mingling among his guests, socializing and keeping an eye on things in equal parts.

So, have a drink; make some new friends. Everyone is welcome, here.

Pretty good. Got to hunt a dragon the other day. ... That was interesting.

[Interesting and dismaying. White surrendered his own dragon Dupont. He's up in that big ring in the sky or whatever.]

I heard some of em got real nasty

[Raikov sits down and leans back a little]

More like investigating. I was able to tranqualize it though once I studied its behavior enough. Orange gave me the weirdest choice for a dragon. Not sure if he was poking fun at me or not.

[OOC: I'm just gonna assume Orange told Raikov the dragon went after virgins. XD]

[Oh. There was a small, fleeting hope that Raikov would turn tail.]

Did he? [Now this is an interesting subject worth talking over.] Did it burp bubbles or something?

[Orange? Make fun of Raikov? Never doesn't seem like it would be the answer but who can say.]

[He purses his lips]

... It only went after virgins.

[He snorts.]

[Now a headshake.]

Virgins. ...how'd you figure that one out?

He said the dragon was "special." So I asked and he told me.

It was chasing after younger people. Teens, mostly. Completely ignored me.

He must have known that [....it would be funny. No, old man. No.] That uh you were the guy to handle it. I mean, it really was out to get people.

[Kids are virgins. That's a sobering thought. They got no business being eaten for just being innocents that they are.]

So you could sneak up on it.

[Raikov wrinkles his nose]

My reputation isn't exactly a secret, even I know that. I suppose I was literally the safest choice for the job...

You mean for being an excellent civil servant?

[No. That isn't what he means at all. Do they have to talk about this? He was hoping they wouldn't. White shrugs.]

...Or were you talking about something else?

[The soviet just stares blankly at White for a moment or two]

Really? You of all people should know...

[Ah. The old man rubs his nose. Yep. They're going there. The low lighting is merciful to his expression.]

What's the opinion of one notch?

[That's what he was to the Russian, right?]

[Too bad for White, he was a little more. If the man were indeed a one night stand, Raikov wouldn't be talking to him.]

[He finally orders a drink - straight vodka. How Russian.]

[Not that he minds. Nathan's skills keep Raikov from wandering most of the time]

[He nudges Raikov a smidge. Not while he's drinking. At least now.]

[Raikov smirks at the nudge]

Well, quiet in the sense of just one person... He doesn't give me much time to rest though.

[Because it sounds like Raikov is monogamous now. What.]

[No. Really. He thinks that is what it is.]

[He is... in a way. He's really only slept with Nathan for the past few months unless they've had random threesomes. ~~Which I actually need to ask about.~~

Raikov raises his eyebrow at the compliment]

What're you congratulating me for?

[He pauses mid-sip and squints a little.]

[It was weird saying that word for it. Lovers, partners, boyfriends... Those were much more common but... a couple? Hm.]
