Word has been spreading, in a quiet sort of way-- a tasteful poster here, an idle comment there, a few personal invitations (with varying degrees of detail) delivered by Isaak himself, and (of course) the polite request that others pass the word along. Simple, but (one hopes) effective.

The Wolf's Den is luxurious without being overly ostentatious; it's warmly lit and comfortable in spite of its newness, with comfortable leather seating and a well-stocked, under-lit bar. No detail has been overlooked-- and, perhaps, no expense spared-- from the hardwood floor to the ornately-tiled ceiling.

There's plenty of food and drink to go around, and as the evening gets underway, Isaak is contentedly mingling among his guests, socializing and keeping an eye on things in equal parts.

So, have a drink; make some new friends. Everyone is welcome, here.

No, [his lips break into a smile, quirking an eyebrow,] I don't think there would be much room for waitresses in skimpy costumes here. Unless there's a concept the owner is looking for.

Or unless it's drag night... [ It's murmured in a half-musing way, as Li picks with his fork at a piece of cheesecake, spreading the strawberry gel down the sides and onto his plate. He's smiling absently, his eyes unfocused and dreamy. (Please excuse him. He gets that way around food). Hastily, he shakes himself out of it to amend, ] N-Not that this seems like that sort of venue. I'll leave that to the Roppongi district back home. [ Referring to the hotbed of nightlife in Tokyo; tourist-heaven for some, a universe of well-dressed predators and prey for others. ]

[ Especially for Contractors like Hei. ]

Well. It's not like I'd have anything against drag night. [Not that it's really his thing. They're a little too extreme about their theatricalities for his taste.]

So you're used to coming to these places?

Hm? [ A little moue of confusion flits over his face. ] To drag nights...? [ Realization dawns. He flushes pink down to the collar of his shirt, slipping into Awkward Babble mode. ] Ah! You mean to, um, gentlemen's bars? [ He clears his throat timidly. ] W-Well, I've got nothing against them. But they're not my usual type of place. I'm more into -- well, that's to say I'm -- [ He's trying to say that he's straight, the little dope. (Well, 'Li' is. Hei can switch teams depending on the role he's assigned to play and the target he's meant to eliminate. But in general he considers it a messy business.) ]

[Meanwhile, Peter watches him flail about with his words with arched brows and an expectant look, not really hoping for any particular answer. He was just asking out of curiosity - might as well, since they're both standing in the same bar.

He's tempted to say something along the lines of go on, get it out of your system, but it's becoming clear that someone needs the answer to be given out for him, so he gets a dismissive wave of a hand.]

That's all right, [his lips stretch into a little grin,] I'm certainly not here to judge you either way.

[ Red-cheeked, Li ducks his head, concentrating for a moment on his half-full plate. ] I-It's not really about judgement Just -- [ His gaze flicks to Peter's, a wavery smile hovering at the corners of his mouth. ] I've just never been good at. Um. Talking about. Well... [ ..........Sex and all its vagaries. Re: the boy is a prude. (His alter-ego, thankfully, is not.) ]

Then let's talk about something else. [He really doesn't mind, Li. Somehow Peter feels at ease around awkward people - go figure. It's just one of his weird little characteristics.] Mind if I join you?

[ Unfortunately, in Hei's case, the awkwardness is largely an act. He's been trained to appear to unobtrusive and harmless; someone people can drop their guards around, open up to. Part-social chameleon, part-shapeshifter, since chameleons change only color, and Hei's technique goes deeper than that. Even now, off-duty, he can summon every detail of past tricks -- except there's no purpose to it. ]

[ This isn't an assignment. Peter isn't a threat. ]
