Summary; Both Korra and Chekov have superpowers this weekend. Chekov has the ability to superglue anything, and Korra? Has the magical ability to make the people around her make really bad choices.

So they decide to pull a prank on Hei.

Log; [Korra waits in the park for Chekov to arrive. They don't have any plans for today, just spend some time together and have fun. It's been awhile since they've just had fun.]

[He does hang on, which, unfortunately, means that one hand sticks to Korra's forearm. Not that it matters much; once she hauls him over, he flops down next to her.]

What did he do to you, Korra?

[anatural]

[She doesn't know how to answer that. We beat each other up; he kissed me and I pushed him off. She can still feel him on her lips, a cold layer of grease, and it makes her shudder just a bit.]

We just fought.

[candothat]

[He doesn't believe there's any such thing as just fighting, especially not between Korra and Hei.]

Are you hurt badly?

[anatural]

[She shakes her head.]

I'll be fine. What about you?

[candothat]

I haven't decided.

[No, but seriously.]

If you want to talk, I have no intention of trying to go anywhere for the next several minutes, at least.

[anatural]

[That gets a weak laugh out of her, and she manages to roll over onto her stomach so she can bury her head in her arms.]

We are so stupid.

[candothat]

I agree.

[Chekov detaches himself from Korra. Best if he keeps his hands to himself while they're still sticky.]

I'm sorry that I convinced you to do it. It was a bad idea.

[anatural]

The worst idea. But you didn't have to do much to convince me. [She'd just wanted a little petty revenge, and look what that got her. She sighs and buries her head deeper in her arms.]

[candothat]

Still. [He moves just far enough to bump up against her.] Thank you for not letting me die. You're a good friend.

[Chekov wishes he could undo the last twelve hours or so or, failing that, know what to say to Korra. Something happened between her and Hei to upset her--what else is new?--and it was more than fighting.]

[anatural]

[She lets out a choked laugh, but she doesn't say anything. Her throat is clogged with tears, the overflow of which dampens her arms. She doesn't want to cry.]

[candothat]

Korra...?

[It's tempting to ask what's wrong, but since when does that ever get an answer? Maybe if he waits long enough, she'll talk to him.]

[anatural]

[She shakes her head, trying to say It's nothing but the words won't come out.

She doesn't know how to put any of it into words. Doesn't know whether she even should. But she's aching and in desperate need of some kind of comfort. Mutely she inches over and wraps her arms around Chekov, burying her head against his shoulder. She might have whispered I'm sorry]

[candothat]

[He'd like to hug her, but staying still seems like a more prudent idea. Hopefully just being there will be enough for now.] It's okay. [In response to what he thinks is a whispered apology.

(There's noise inside the building now. Perhaps it's the patrons returning; perhaps not.)]

[anatural]

[After a few minutes of pathetic sniffling, she pulls herself away.]

You need a healer. We should go.

[othersdie]

[Even as they get to their feet, the door that accesses the roof creaks open to reveal a petite blonde woman with a gun. She seems surprised to see them.

Justin is on her heels. He doesn't look surprised in the least (then again, he very rarely does).]

Johansen, call an ambulance. Korra... that's your name, isn't it?

[anatural]

[Oh no. No no no no no no no. Like this day hasn't been bad enough. She's in a shitton of trouble, isn't she?]

Yeah.

[Congratulations, Justin. You are scarier than Hei.]

[othersdie]

The bar's owner claims that you're responsible for the current state of his property.

[There's an unspoken, "What do you have to say for yourself?" tacked on to that.

The blonde officer kneels next to Korra and Chekov and begins looking them over for injuries.]

[anatural]

We're responsible?! We were ATTACKED!!!!!!

[othersdie]

Who attacked you?

[The woman hauls Chekov--who protests, but does little else to dissuade her--to his feet and leads him off of the roof, leaving Korra and Justin.]

[anatural]

[She stops. Crap. What does she tell him?

She could tell him the truth. Give him every detail about Hei. He'd deserve it. He deserves all the trouble he gets. It's tempting. It's so. Very. Tempting.

But she's gotten so much into the habit of secrecy about him, it feels impossible to break. In a twisted way, it feels like a betrayal.]

I........... I don't know.

[She doesn't like to think about his vengeance either, though she hates to admit that she's scared.]

Some weird freak with wires.

[othersdie]

[The pause doesn't go unnoticed. Justin's incredibly suspicious.]

A freak with wires. [Uh huh.] Can you tell me anything else?

[anatural]

[She shakes her head.]

No. It all happened so fast...and I banged my head up pretty good.

[othersdie]

You don't remember a freak wind storm, do you?

[He interviewed people, Korra. Be careful about what you say.]

[anatural]

[GERK.

Guilt. Written all over her face.]

[othersdie]

Is that a yes?

[She could be a little more self-incriminating.]
