Summary; The celebrations continue, and the Anonymous regime has summoned guests that Citizens might (not) prove very thrilled to see! As opposed to other Fourth Wall events, all visiting characters will have been invited to the City, or they must arrive here of their own will.

There's so much to do and so much to see in this City of cities. From tromping through Xanadu, long walks along the shore, shopping in the Square, hunting in the forest, meeting a contact in the Underground, or getting as many answers as possible at the Welcoming Center how can anyone decide on just one. In three days time so much can be done!

Shops and restaurants are having specials. Happy hour has become happy days in some bars. This is quite the occasion! When the City decides to celebrate, it becomes contagious. Why not smile and strike up a conversation with a stranger? After all, a stranger is a friend you haven't met yet.

[It isn't in that the name isn't familiar to Ben but it is because John mentions it at all. John Cooper is not easily impressed, unlike Sammy Bryant on occasion. That's part of what Ben loved about Sammy, the transition from P3 superior to partnership was easy, seamless. Either Ben Sherman had really outdone himself (his medals would back that up) or Sammy Bryant set his bar a little low, soft and gentle. The latter never occurs to Ben.]

Ah. I'm sure he was a great guy. [The younger officer nods, clearly not trying to hide his cluelessness over who Hicks is, but he believes what he says.]

[He's sure of it. Well. John shakes his head.]

Ever bored, ever need any inspiration look him up.

[That's who helped make Cooper who and what he is. That's the inference. For the most part, he's confidant in his approach. It has brought about good and solid officers to different factions. But he's had his share of misses, of failures.

Ben is showering in his own ideas daily. A good real rinse of reality is what Cooper always felt he needed. Hopefully Bryant will keep at it.]

[Ben jokes casually. Even now he doubts John feels sensitive over being called too tough, too salty, a bit of an asshole at times. That's what FTOs do. Then at the end of the day they write the honest truth in a log book. Ben still has his from that day he took down his first perp. With Sammy log books are no longer necessary, he gets his praise from having the guy give his coffee houses a chance.]

[Yes, he is expecting an answer even when he's got a grin on his face. Too tough and too salty mean that everything after should be approached with thought and caution. That's the method and intent. No use coddling. The crooks will sniff out any advantage they can.]

[Ben quirks a brow. Of course it has and this isn't the first time other guys, especially John Cooper, have said as much. Is this how John is with his old FTO?]

That's not the kind of picture HR wants.

You got to be able to stand your ground. It doesn't magically happen. HR says one thing but when they see their star with a shiner and a pretty lousy story to go with it, then I think that it is apparent how things should be.

[Thinks. And this back and forth, that's exactly expected between Hicks and Cooper. Johnny isn't a little boot. He hasn't been for ages, but he will get his lumps verbally at every turn. Even when it is insensitive and inopportune. He hopes that his selection of time and stabs will someday be appreciated.]

[ Jim rises and stands awkwardly to one side, glancing away. ]

Which--? No, you wouldn't have any reason to know which one. As if this place wasn't enough of a mess without adding extra timelines! [He's a doctor, not a physicist. Different times and different versions of people--of him--give him a headache.]

[ Well, clearly the thing to do is to introduce himself. ] Lieutenant Geordi LaForge, at your service. I'm the chief engineer of the Enterprise. Sorry to forget my manners. [ Other people are here! Also nice. Maybe he will meet someone he was at the Academy with. ]

The Enterprise, [she echoes, somewhat amused rather than surprised. She's starting to wonder whether Starfleet has any other ships... though it's rather a charming thought. An impressive legacy, really.]

Robbins. First Officer of the Enterprise.

[She's almost smiling.]

He did mention something about timelines, [she replies, her agreement implicit. Is it really so much to ask, to meet one person who might know who she is?] but I don't know any more than that. Are you a-- contemporary of his?

[cheeky word choice, yes.]

Sorry, sorry. [She'd tell Kirk he doesn't have to leave, but her attention is entirely on Gaila.] I just... it's so good to see you. I can't believe you're here.

[She shakes her head.] This place is cut off from time and space as we know it. What happens here doesn't affect the timeline.

[He wouldn't normally question her so blatantly, but this is Important.]

I am proof. I was here before. I lived here for seven months, then I returned home with no memories of this place.

[It's another silly question which betrays his concern for her. Memories being modified like that is nothing good.]

[ lingering attachments should be discarded. they make you weak and vulnerable, give others opportunities to take you down. those of her species would say she had it coming, that she left herself wide open when she became endeared to james kirk, that it was her fault she got played like she did. there was even a part of her that was impressed he did such a thing, as it was such an orion thing to do. but jim wasn't orion. he was human. maybe that's what made it so disappointing in the long run, that a human behaved like the very people she, in part, came here to get away from. ]

I can't believe I'm here myself. I don't know how I got here, but I'm here.

Engineering! Mathematical engineering, to be exact. I like numbers.

I'm still a cadet, actually. Got one more semester to go before graduation and long term assignments.
