This party was four years coming. The restaurant has set aside a large room just for this event and on short notice too. The food is plentiful and of various cuisines, with even a large selection of vegetarian options for those who prefer that. But of course, there is more alcohol than one has ever seen because Angela knows the people she invited and knows quite a few of them have liquor in their veins instead of blood. Rule of thumb: more liquid than solids every time.

Everything's set and ready for the birthday girl to make her appearance, so for the time being, Angela's flitting around the place dressed in more subdued colors than usual, choosing black because no one gets to stand out more than Ginny tonight, and socializing with the few guests that have shown up already.

Sadly, there are no strippers. Ginny nixed that one hard.

[Because she has been texting Bucky asking where he is and wondering if he's going to show up but he's like a brother so even in a joke, that makes her laugh in mingled amusement and horror.]

I am relaxed, woman. [She gives Ginny a playful shove.] Like I said, I'm socializing. With the birthday girl. Like I should.

[She holds her glass up in a toast and takes another sip.]

There'll be dancing at some point, I hope? I've already been claimed for a few. [Gently teasing,] Apparently I'm popular tonight. Must be you working some magic of your own.

I'm here and dressed, aren't I? Did my escort pass your approval? I'm doing splendidly, there's no need for abuse.

[Speaking of escorts, Angela turns to find McCoy in the crowd of people. She doubts she'll find him having fun.]

Speaking of him, how'd you get Sir Grumpypants to not only show up, but be your escort? Tell me your secrets.

[And she's honest about that, brows raised in surprise.]

I was talking to him about needing to find someone and he offered.

[Ginny has more magic in her than Angela thought.]

[She grins around the lip of her glass, eyes alight.]
