Summary; There's no legal drinking age in the City, but who says we can't party like there was one anyway?

This party was four years coming. The restaurant has set aside a large room just for this event and on short notice too. The food is plentiful and of various cuisines, with even a large selection of vegetarian options for those who prefer that. But of course, there is more alcohol than one has ever seen because Angela knows the people she invited and knows quite a few of them have liquor in their veins instead of blood. Rule of thumb: more liquid than solids every time.

Everything's set and ready for the birthday girl to make her appearance, so for the time being, Angela's flitting around the place dressed in more subdued colors than usual, choosing black because no one gets to stand out more than Ginny tonight, and socializing with the few guests that have shown up already.

Sadly, there are no strippers. Ginny nixed that one hard.

[ Don't judge Scott if you see him with a half empty glass of champagne. But, he does approach her at one point while she picks at her salad. ]

Hey. I heard you organized this whole thing. It's amazing.

[No, Angela doesn't judge. What she does do however is glance around for Melissa first and then grabs a nearby champagne bottle and tops up his glass. It's not bourbon, but it's the best she can do.]

Thank you, but give all the credit for Ginny for giving me free reign after years of saying no.

[ You are the very best bad influence, Angela. ]

Maybe she finally realized you'd do a great job? [ Total mistake not letting Angela throw her something the other years! ] So, have you uh, kept having people get here? Like, every week? [ He looks behind him at Lydia who's mingling. God, that girl is good. She can just make the best of anything, can't she? ] Another friend arrived today. She came with me. People keep telling me, nobody can leave. Expect to never see the people you love again, then -- Lydia. Isaac. My mom. [ he shakes his head. ] Sorry, I didn't mean to - [ he smiles. ] How do I look?

Either that or I wore her down.

[For a quick second, just a flash, a wave of envy washes over Angela. It's irritating and unwelcome so she shakes it off with a somewhat forced smile that looks genuine.]

No. [She's had no one show up.] But good for you. She looks like she's making herself right at home. And you look great.

[affectioning]

[ He doesn't mean to make her feel envious. He didn't mean it like that. She's just a veteran here. ]

Thanks. And yeah, she does that. [ It's ridiculous. And awesome. ] We go to school together. [ Or, went? ] You too! You look really great. [ You're older so he's not going to say hot. But, you do, Angela, look very hot. ]

[It's none of his fault; she's just sour about some things. It has nothing to do with other people's luck. Well, maybe a whole lot, but it's nothing they can do about that.]

Thanks. [She glances around again and then drops her voice into a conspiratorial whisper.] Don't tell your mom I gave you booze, okay?

[affectioning]

[ No, but again, if he could, he would, if wishes were horses... Sometimes, he hates that he can smell how a person feels. ]

Your secret's safe. [ His volume stays low before continuing. ] And thanks for coming to the housewarming!

[Between touch-telepaths and werewolves, there's no way Angela can keep faking it until she makes it.]

I wouldn't have missed it for the world. How are the bedsheets I got you guys going?

[affectioning]

[ Nope. But, when she can't, people like Scott and Ginny will be there for her! Probably more people her age... ]

Really nice. [ Seriously. SERIOUSLY. He is - yeah. THANK YOU, ANGELA. ] My mom also wanted me to thank you for the liquor. [ Again. Imagine that. ]
