Summary; There's no legal drinking age in the City, but who says we can't party like there was one anyway?

This party was four years coming. The restaurant has set aside a large room just for this event and on short notice too. The food is plentiful and of various cuisines, with even a large selection of vegetarian options for those who prefer that. But of course, there is more alcohol than one has ever seen because Angela knows the people she invited and knows quite a few of them have liquor in their veins instead of blood. Rule of thumb: more liquid than solids every time.

Everything's set and ready for the birthday girl to make her appearance, so for the time being, Angela's flitting around the place dressed in more subdued colors than usual, choosing black because no one gets to stand out more than Ginny tonight, and socializing with the few guests that have shown up already.

Sadly, there are no strippers. Ginny nixed that one hard.

The Prime Directive states we can't interfere with another world in any way that'll influence it or leave a last mark on its culture. That's been thrown out the window here, mostly, since we've had to adapt to survive. We're already in violation of it to a degree, although we didn't come here willingly and we're still accountable for our actions on the populace. Our technology is the one thing we can't share, it might be copied or stolen. Taken somewhere else across dimensions to have a devastating effect.

[Angela spits the word out like it's bitter, almost poisonous. She really hates rules and not just these, but she understands the need for confidentiality.]

So no asking what that duotronics thing is? Because that's like dangling a carrot in front of my face and then snatching it away.

[She laughing it off. At least she's good natured about it.]

I could, it's just really boring. I'm thinking of compiling a list of xenolinguistical phrases from the different species around here, what do you think?

[ Side-stepping the scoff about the rules, although he very much inwardly agrees. ]

[Tech is never boring. He's talking to the woman who writes programs just because she can't sleep.]

Sounds like a good idea to me. It might come in handy for Spock?

[Somehow, that man and easing his foray into socializing is always in the back of her mind.]

Better than I thought he would. [She follows Jim's glace over at Spock.] He's a pretty nice guy.

[Nice isn't a word most people would use for Spock, but Angela isn't most people.]

[Angela nods, still watching Spock do Spock things, and for a second, her voice softens into something more sentimental.]
