This party was four years coming. The restaurant has set aside a large room just for this event and on short notice too. The food is plentiful and of various cuisines, with even a large selection of vegetarian options for those who prefer that. But of course, there is more alcohol than one has ever seen because Angela knows the people she invited and knows quite a few of them have liquor in their veins instead of blood. Rule of thumb: more liquid than solids every time.

Everything's set and ready for the birthday girl to make her appearance, so for the time being, Angela's flitting around the place dressed in more subdued colors than usual, choosing black because no one gets to stand out more than Ginny tonight, and socializing with the few guests that have shown up already.

Sadly, there are no strippers. Ginny nixed that one hard.

[ let's not go there.

sarcastically: ] That's because you're a special case.

[ Going off what he's seen in holofilms, ahw yiss. Special as heck. ]

[ so jim didn't dance with anyone else, has never danced with anyone. bones would wonder out loud, but he probably knows why. ]

Seven out of them. [ he smirks. ] Got grace, but you need style.

[hischair]

[ Not like this, not seriously. Or semi-seriously, because it's snowing and it looks nice and he just wants to hang onto something (someone) normal for a while. ]

I'm going to remember you called me graceful. We'll be old and wrinkly and I'll say, "You once said I had graceful hips", and you'll have to nod and agree. [ A smile stretches. ] Am I supposed to assume you've got all the style here?

[medicos]

[ old and wrinkly. bones hums neutrally. that they'll still be best friends and hanging out together even when they've passed the retirement age is a nice thought, actually. ]

If you wanted me to dip you then just say so. [ his lips curl upwards. ] Because I will, Jim, then I'll drop you.

[hischair]

[ Hopefully no bridges will come between them, ahem. He laughs and rolls his eyes. ]

You can drop me after but I want to see this. Go ahead and dip away.

[medicos]

[ just saying.

and so, he drops a hand to jim's waist and dips. not too low, because that might break both of their backs. ]

You should know better than to challenge me when I mean business, kid.

[ then he lets go (or, well, he pushes jim off him, if he's still holding on to his shoulders.) ]

[hischair]

[ A gurgle of surprise echoes up when he's released, grappling for purchase on that shiny blue suit. ]

You bastard, you did it too.

[ Huffing!! ]

That was awful.

[medicos]

[ snorting, he holds out his hand to pull jim up. ]

Come on, Twinkletoes, you're going to get frostbitten.

[hischair]

Maybe I like frostbite.

[ Grousing in his own right, he heaves himself up and uses the arm slotted around Bones' shoulders to brush the snow off there. ]

[medicos]

Infant.

[ but it comes out fond. ]

Tired yet?

[hischair]

I could do this all night.

[ ... And then, goddamit, he ducks his head to the side to yawn against a shoulder. Fuck. ]

All night.

[medicos]

[ he's smirking, but he'll give you a lifeline. ]

Good for you, then, but these old bones have to rest some time tonight. I can go by myself if you still want to chat around.

[hischair]

No, no, let's head out together. I already told Spock we'd make a move at one-ish, anyway. [ A hand waves dismissively at the party and he fixes his gaze on Leonard, smiling tiredly. ] Let's fish him out of the crowd and head back.

[medicos]

[ ugh, spock.

Fine. [ and then, in a much lower voice as they head out to the crowd: ] Next time, don't play it up if you're genuinely tired, especially not to me. You don't always have to be the social butterfly.

[hischair]

[ Bones, behave. ]

I can be tired and still want to dance.

[medicos]

You didn't dance at all, smartass, except with me. I should be the one complaining here. [ but you already are, bones. ]

[hischair]

You're the only one I wanted to dance with, Doctor Obvious.

[ Rolling his eyesss. Ouch, and a shoulder. So abused. ]

[medicos]

We gotta work on your romantic pick-up lines. [ rolling his eyes in turn. ] Come on, let's find the damn Vulcan and say goodbye to the princess.

[hischair]

Last time I take you into the snow for something other than a snowball war.

[ He'll remember this slight! Make no mistake. But yes, the Search For Spock is on. ]

[medicos]

You'll never get me into a snowball fight with you, asshole. [ you'll cheat somehow. ]

[hischair]

Bright as Georgia sunshine, aren't you?

[ Nudging him as they walk. ]

I am, and I'm having Spock on my team too. It'll be an epic battle, first and best.
